Hugo Ekitike's Agent Seen In Tears As His Community Shield Goal Goes Viral
Liverpool forward Hugo Ekitike scored the opening goal in the FA Community Shield final against Crystal Palace, bringing his agent Karl Mwalako to tears.
Liverpool forward Hugo Ekitike's agent Karl Mwalako was seen in tears after the former scored the opening goal for the club in their FA Community Shield final match against Crystal Palace. He scored the first goal of the match after only four minutes to put Liverpool ahead at Wembley.
Donning a Liverpool shirt and a cap among the audience, Mwalako couldn't hold back his tears after Ekitike's brilliant debut goal for the club.
Mwalako had worked with the French star to bag a transfer from Eintracht Frankfurt this summer, with several teams having sought to sign him. Watch the video here:
Ekitike was selected to lead the line for a revamped Liverpool frontline in the match against Crystal Palace, with fellow debutant Florian Wirtz playing behind him.
Liverpool agreed a deal that could reach up to £79 million to sign Ekitike on a six-year deal earlier this summer after he impressed last season.
Slot's Premier League champions remain in the market for Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak, but Ekitike showed his capability against Palace.
After storming to a record-equalling 20th English top-flight title in Arne Slot's first season in charge, Liverpool have looked to build from a position of strength during a summer marked by tragedy.
Portuguese forward Diogo Jota was killed in a car accident alongside his brother in July, plunging the club into mourning.
Tributes to Jota will continue throughout the season with 'Forever 20", his shirt number, which the club have now retired, printed on Liverpool's jerseys.
The Reds have already spent £260 million ($350 million) on Wirtz, Ekitike, Milos Kerkez and Jeremie Frimpong.
However, after the departures of Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez, they aren't yet done in strengthening their forward line and are expected to launch a fresh bid for Isak, with Newcastle demanding a British transfer record fee for the Swedish striker.

Remove Ads Company response and ongoing battle In a case that flips the fantasy of 'getting paid to do nothing' on its head, 59-year-old Laurence Van Wassenhove is taking one of Europe's biggest telecom companies, Orange , to court. She alleges that the company left her in a professional void for more than 20 years — full salary intact but with no tasks, no responsibilities, and virtually no human to French outlet FTV, Van Wassenhove described her experience as 'forced inactivity' that left her 'invisible' in the Wassenhove joined Orange in 1993, when it was still France Télécom. After developing epilepsy and hemiplegia — partial paralysis on one side of the body — she was reassigned from her original role to a secretarial position, making use of her HR her career stalled in 2002 when she sought a transfer to another region. An occupational health review deemed her unfit for the proposed post, and she was instead placed on 'standby,' marking the beginning of her decades-long professional limbo Despite her steady income, Van Wassenhove told Mediapart she faced financial struggles, eviction notices, and worsening mental health while caring for her autistic child. The isolation, she says, eroded her sense of purpose and left her battling severe lawyer, David Nabet-Martin, argues that Orange's inaction deprived her of 'having a place in society' as a disabled person, causing long-term psychological speaking to French outlet La Dépêche, insisted it considered Van Wassenhove's 'personal social situation' and maintained the 'best possible conditions' during her absence from active work. Two Days After India Visit, China's Wang Yi To Attend Trilateral Conference With Afghanistan, Pakistan
Last Updated: The conference was originally scheduled to take place in Pakistan but had to be cancelled after the Afghan foreign minister did not receive clearance to travel to Islamabad Afghanistan will host the foreign ministers of China and Pakistan for a trilateral conference on August 20 in Kabul, two days after Wang Yi's scheduled visit to India to meet national security adviser Ajit Doval. China, Pakistan, and Afghanistan will take part with their top delegations for the meeting, which was originally scheduled to take place in Pakistan but had to be cancelled after the Afghan foreign minister did not receive clearance to travel to Pakistan. The three countries will discuss the expansion of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) to Kabul, counterterrorism measures, and economic cooperation. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi will arrive in Pakistan late on August 20 to take part in the Pak-China Strategic Dialogue in Islamabad. This will be right after his visit to New Delhi, where he is most likely to also intract with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar. During the conference, Wang, Pakistan foreign minister Ishaq Dar and Afghan foreign minister Amir Khan Muttaqi will address trilateral issues of mutual interest, including CPEC expansion to Kabul, counterterrorism, rising militancy, and broader economic and trade matters. Wang and Doval are the designated special representatives for the boundary talks. The NSA had travelled to China in December last year and held the SR talks with Wang, weeks after Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping decided to revive various dialogue mechanisms between the two sides at a meeting in the Russian city of Kazan. Modi is expected to travel to China later this month to attend the SCO summit, which will make it his first since the Galwan Valley clashes in 2020. Both sides are in the process to repair bilateral ties, with reports of resumption of border trade as well as air travel. view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
