Minnesota Vikings Add More Pass-Catching Help
So far it has sounded like the defensive side of the ball is ahead during practice. That's not exactly surprising considering how good Brian Flores' front seven is. The evaluation period will continue for both sides of the ball though, and Kwesi Adofo-Mensah made a roster tweak on Monday.
Nick Vannett joins MN Vikings tight end group
Just last week the Minnesota Vikings added more depth to the offensive line. Monday they subtracted a tackle to add tight end Nick Vannett.

Minnesota initially signed Marcellus Johnson to the practice squad last year. He was released and re-signed with the New York Giants before making his way back to the Vikings.
This will be Vannett's 10th year in the NFL. He was originally a third-round pick way back in 2016. Last season he played in all 17 games (10 starts) for the Tennessee Titans. He caught 17 passes for 135 yards and a trio of touchdowns.
At 32 years old, Vannett is a grizzled veteran. If he appears on the field for the Vikings, they would represent his eighth different team. The three touchdowns last season matched a career-high he set with Seattle back in 2018.

Minnesota's top tight end options are T.J. Hockenson and Josh Oliver. Beyond that there is uncertainty in the form of 2025 draft pick Gavin Bartholomew and undrafted free agent Ben Yurosek. That contingent, along with Vannett, is looking to replace since departed depth option Nick Muse.

Justin Jefferson fantasy football preview 2025: Stats, season outlook, predictions
Rotoworld Staff, Justin Jefferson 2025 Fantasy Football Snapshot 6.1 catches, 90.4 yards per game still netted WR2 finish in 2024. McCarthy takes over after Vikings averaged 233 pass yards with Darnold. Elite volume and talent keep Jefferson in WR1 overall conversation. Get personalized fantasy football insights based on your league settings with FantasyLife+. Your league is unique, your advice should be too. Head to and use code ROTO20 for 20% off. 2024: After years of dominating fantasy leagues with Kirk Cousins chucking him the ball, Jefferson finally had to strike out on his own with Sam Darnold as his quarterback. Darnold played well and kept the trains running on time, but Minnesota fell to 233 passing yards per game, the lowest mark since Jefferson joined the team. This, in turn, put a squeeze on his counting stats. Jefferson's 6.1 catches and 90.4 yards per game were both low-water marks since his debut season and his 2.4 yards per route were the worst of his career. Being the living legend that he is, down years don't hit the same for Jefferson. Despite all of this, he ranked as PPR's WR2 overall. What's changed: The reason Minnesota turned to Darnold in 2025 was that their initial succession plan for Cousins, J.J. McCarthy, missed the year with a knee injury. The Vikings let Darnold walk in the offseason, teeing McCarthy up for 17 starts this year. The move to a complete unknown seems like a risk for Jefferson and the entire offense, but Darnold had been bouncing around the league as a backup for years. Kevin O'Connell worked his magic and got an astounding season from the journeyman. He's a good bet to do something similar with McCarthy. 2025 Outlook: Ja'Marr Chase's triple crown season puts him ahead of Jefferson for the upcoming season. Saquon Barkley's record-setting season should also keep him at the No. 2 spot, but receiver-crazed fantasy drafters have already started taking Jefferson over him. After Chase is off the board, it's all fair game. Jefferson is at least in the conversation for the second-best fantasy asset this year. **Projections from Spotlight Sports Group Go to: All players | QBs | RBs | WRs | TEs

Former Florida EDGE Jonathan Greenard cracks NFL's top 50 players ahead of 2025-26 season
The start of the 2025-26 NFL campaign is less than a month away, and things are starting to cook ahead of the nation's favorite gridiron game. While we count down the remaining days before the opening kickoff, Coral Smith has been curating its rankings of the top 100 players as voted by the players themselves heading into the new season. She recently released the cohort for the No. 50 to No. 41 rankings, which saw the first former Florida Gator to be named: edge defender Jonathan Greenard of the Minnesota Vikings, who checks in at No. 48. "Greenard signed a four-year contract to join the Vikings last offseason, putting big expectations on his shoulders to produce and aid in the pass rush out of the gate," Smith begins. "And Greenard did just that, establishing himself quickly in the Minnesota defense as a QB-hunting threat and part of the team's turnover-happy unit. Responsible for a quartet of takeaways himself, Greenard was rewarded for his impactful performance with his first Pro Bowl nod and a few points for Defensive Player of the Year voting," she continues. "Set to stay in Minnesota for the long term, Greenard figures to maintain his new key role in the defense going forward, especially after some significant free agency departures." NFL Pro Insight for Jonathan Greenard 2024 stats: 17 games | 59 tackles | 18 tfl | 12 sacks | 4 FF | 1 FR "Greenard was one of just two edge defenders in the NFL (alongside Myles Garrett) to record 50+ pressures, 10+ sacks, 25+ run stops (run tackle for a loss in EPA), and 10+ run stuffs," Smith notes. What Vikings coaches say about Greenard "We call him the closer," Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell told ESPN regarding Greenard during training camp. "How many times have we seen him win a one-on-one, or even with help from the back or the tight end, and he just wins and ends the drill?" "He's worked on his pass rush," adds defensive coordinator Brian Flores. "He's worked on setting the edge in the run game. But also: How do I set somebody up? I think he's that sort of unselfish player." What Greenard says about his progress "It takes a lot of humility to just say, 'Hey, I'm ready to learn today,'" Greenard told ESPN. "I'm trying to learn something every single day so I can just build up on my game, so that nobody can stop me. They may know I do a certain move, but I may have added something else to the move that they've never seen before. And at that point, you're balling. "Last year was my first year getting used to this system, so now I have a better understanding when I can be aggressive and then add on the ways I can set other people up," he notes. "Each year, I just continue to just learn something," Greenard continued. "You might feel like you know it all every single year — until you have another year and another year under your belt. I always say it's good to be punched in the mouth at times, to make you go back to the drawing board and make you understand why you love this stuff. "So I feel like I can take this thing as far as God will let me. I have a lot left in the tank."
