After leaving films in 2000,

In a candid conversation on MaaaNoranjan with Gauahar Khan, Shilpa reflected on her life in New Zealand after stepping away from films. To stay creatively engaged, she pursued a course in hairdressing—drawn to its connection with the world of beauty and performance. She even worked briefly at a salon, embracing a new chapter of reinvention far removed from the Bollywood spotlight.
The actress also spoke about how balancing her new marriage with a demanding salon job became challenging.
With her husband working weekdays and her schedule packed on weekends, the couple had little time together. Realizing the importance of nurturing their relationship in those early years, she eventually chose to step away from the job and focus on building their life together.
After stepping away from salon work, Shilpa wasn't ready to sit idle. When her husband asked what she planned to do next, she surprised him by asking him to make her a resume—honestly listing everything from her film work to the fact that she hadn't completed her SSC.
What began as a light-hearted experiment turned into a real turning point: she applied for a few jobs just for fun and, in a twist worthy of a movie scene, returned home the same day with two appointment letters in hand.
She eventually took a job but soon found out she was pregnant.
She eventually joined Dun & Bradstreet as a credit controller, stepping into a corporate role far removed from her film career. One day, after casually mentioning to a friend that she was constantly tired and experiencing acidity, the friend suggested she might be pregnant.

Though she laughed it off at first, a pregnancy test confirmed the unexpected news. Her husband's reaction was pure joy, and in that moment, everything changed.
Their journey into parenthood had begun, marking yet another new chapter in Shilpa's evolving life beyond the screen.
Despite facing significant health challenges during her pregnancy, she continued working without slowing down. She was on insulin multiple times a day, experienced drastic weight loss, and constantly carried the scent of cocoa butter—but for her, it was still a joyful and deeply fulfilling experience. She looks back on that time as one of the most special chapters of her life.
After the birth of her daughter Anushka, Shilpa Shirodkar stepped away from work to focus fully on motherhood, choosing to be a hands-on, full-time mom.

After Superman kiss controversy, CBFC censors Ahaan Panday-starrer Saiyaara's intimate scenes; netizens demand Sandeep Reddy Vanga's intervention

Ananya Panday's cousin Ahaan Panday is gearing up for his Bollywood debut opposite Aneet Padda in Mohit Suri's romantic musical drama Saiyaara. Before the film's theatrical release on July 18, it has received a U/A certificate but the Censor Board Of Film Certification has suggested several cuts, including the deletion of ten seconds of 'sensual, intimate, body exposure visuals,' as per a Bollywood Hungama report. This comes after Hollywood film Superman's kissing scene between actors David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan was removed by India's censor board. According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, the CBFC has asked the makers of Saiyaara to make a few cuts and changes in the movie. In four different scenes, 'objectionable' words were censored and replaced with more 'appropriate' ones. The authority also suggested them to delete and replace ten seconds of 'sensual, intimate, body exposure visuals'. The runtime of the film is 156.50 minutes, i.e 2 hours, 36 minutes and 50 seconds. However, netizens are disappointed with CBFC's cuts in Saiyaara. Social media users expressed their displeasure with the censorship instructions in the comments section on Reddit, with many demanding an intervention by filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga to fight CBFC. Check out the post: Sanskari Censor Board got no chill byu/KramerDwight inBollyBlindsNGossip A screenshot of the news was shared on Reddit, with several users slamming CBFC's decision. 'Sanskari censor board got no chill,' a comment read. While some wanted Vanga to step in for an intervention, others joked about the Censor Board approving of Akshay Kumar starrer Housefull 5's crass jokes and kissing scenes. 'The same CBFC gave Housefull 5 a U/A certificate. Hypocrisy,' a person wrote. 'Vanga for CBFC chairman. Please upvote,' another user commented. 'We will witness Sandeep Reddy Vanga vs Censor Board soon,' a comment read. Talking about Saiyaara, the film has been helmed by Mohit Suri and presented by Yash Raj Films. The story is about a romantic musical story, marking the debut collaboration between YRF and Suri. The film features Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda in lead roles. The music has been composed by Mithoon, Sachet-Parampara, Rishabh Kant, Vishal Mishra, Tanishk Bagchi, Faheem Abdullah, and Arslan Nizami. Set to hit the big screen tomorrow, 18th July, the movie's advance booking already looks promising.

Daisy Shah CONFIRMS She Won't Join Salman Khan's Bigg Boss 19: ‘Probably Never Will'

Last Updated: Daisy Shah has denied reports of her joining Bigg Boss 19, hosted by Salman Khan. 'I am not doing Bigg Boss. Probably never will,' she wrote on Instagram. As excitement brews around Bigg Boss 19, the internet has been buzzing with speculation about which celebrities might enter the infamous house this season. One name that recently found itself in the eye of the rumour storm was actress Daisy Shah, who has now come forward to put an end to all the speculation. Daisy, best known for her roles in Bollywood blockbusters like Jai Ho and Race 3, took to her Instagram stories on Wednesday, July 16, to issue a clear and unambiguous statement. 'Putting an end to all the rumours. I am not doing Bigg Boss. Probably never will. Dhanyawad," she wrote, adding a folded hands emoji to underline her gratitude and finality. The clarification came amidst growing chatter about the reality show's highly anticipated return. Traditionally aired in the latter half of the year, Bigg Boss is reportedly set for an early launch this time, possibly in July. If true, this would mark a significant shift from its usual September-October schedule and could lead to a longer-than-usual runtime, extending well into January 2026. Speculation suggests it might become one of the longest seasons ever, spanning up to six months. Adding fuel to the fire, several entertainment portals and social media accounts have been circulating a list of rumoured contestants. Besides Daisy, the names being floated include Lataa Saberwal, Apoorva Mukhija, Purav Jha, Neel Motwani, Arhan Ansari, Shashank Vyas, Khushi Dubey, Sharad Malhotra, Moon Banerjee, and TV couple Ram Kapoor and Gautami Kapoor. In addition to the contestant rumours, there's also speculation that this season might be helmed not just by Salman Khan, but also by Karan Johar and Farah Khan, who may step in as guest hosts during Salman's absence. However, none of these developments have been confirmed by the makers of the show yet. While fans await official announcements, Daisy Shah's statement adds some clarity to the swirling reports. One thing is for sure—she won't be seen inside the Bigg Boss house anytime soon, if ever. First Published: July 17, 2025, 17:59 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
