Calling The Split fans! 'Paused' spinoff series gets an exciting update
It's good news for The Split fans, with spinoff series The Split Up reportedly moving forward on production.
A spinoff of the popular legal drama was announced by the BBC last February, but in September, Deadline reported that the broadcaster had "paused indefinitely" on the project.
In an exciting update, Broadcast Now has now reported that The Split Up is currently in pre-production, with filming due to start this October.

The Split Up will be filmed and set in Manchester and, similar to the original series, will follow a family of legal experts: the Kishans.
"Kishan Law is a British-Asian high net worth family law firm in Manchester, noted for its clientele and its reputation," the official synopsis states. "They are the 'go to firm' for Manchester's elite, who come to them for their excellence, integrity, and discretion.
"But the future and legacy of Kishan Law hangs in the balance when a family secret from the past comes to light, throwing their professional and personal lives into turmoil."

The Split creator Abi Morgan is involved with the spinoff series but hasn't penned the script. Instead, Ursula Rani Sarma has written the series – whose recent credits include Sky's dark comedy series Delicious.
During an interview with Digital Spy in December last year, Morgan was asked about a possible crossover with The Split and The Split Up, and she didn't rule out the suggestion.
"Yeah, I think we're talking about that," she told us. "I think it will be a show that will very much stand on its own, but invariably, it's lovely to have built that audience, and we're excited to see that audience hopefully come to the new version of the show. Who knows?"

One of the BBC's best known TV chefs has announced that her cookery show has been cancelled by the broadcaster. Nadiya Hussain – a former champion on popular TV baking competition The Great British Bake Off – has made several series for the BBC, including Nadiya Bakes, Nadiya's Fast Flavours and Nadiya's Simple Spices. In the video she posted where she outlined difficulties of being a Muslim woman on screen, Hussain said she was moving in a 'positive direction', adding: 'I'm working on some new things, but for me it's about being my most authentic self, and working with people who believe my voice has a platform, and believing in my talent.' " 28 Years Later" brings the terrifying Rage virus back to the big screen as director Danny Boyle returns to examine postapocalyptic Britain once more. It picks up decades after the initial outbreak turned the British population into bloodthirsty, sprinting zombies. "28 Years Later" revolves around the inhabitants of Lindisfarne, an island off the coast of Northumberland. The tide cuts Lindisfarne off from the mainland most of the time, keeping it safe from the infected. Things get bloody when Jamie (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) is tasked with taking his son Spike, played by newcomer Alfie Williams, to the world beyond the island. He rose to fame thanks to his role as Cook in the teen drama, "Skins," before starring in critically acclaimed British movies and shows including "This Is England," "Eden Lake," and "'71." He later appeared in Netflix's "Lady Chatterley's Lover" opposite Emma Corrin, and played Amy Winehouse's husband, Blake Felder-Civil, in "Back to Black." In 2024, O'Connell portrayed the vampire villain, Remmick, in Ryan Coogler's " Sinners." Erin Kellyman starred in "Solo: A Star Wars Story" and "The Falcon and The Winter Soldier" before "28 Years Later." Erin Kellyman plays Jimmy Ink in "28 Years Later," but her role has been kept out of the marketing for the film. She also got her start in British TV thanks to shows like "Raised By Wolves" and the "Les Misérables" miniseries.
