Thanks to this limited-time deal, it won't break the bank either.
Axing its price by 34%, this flash sale is saving shoppers a delightful £50 on the Patio Cleaner, which has been hailed for its quick and efficient cleaning. It even rids patios and decking of algae, lichen, moss, and weeds.
The Ryobi RY18PCB-0 18V ONE+ Patio Cleaner with Scrubbing Brush makes quick work of a cleaning job that used to take hours, letting you wave goodbye to long afternoons of hard labour. Unlike a traditional scrubbing brush, this patio cleaner simply glides across the surface, whether it's paving stones or wood. The 18V motor rotates the hard-bristled roller brush to remove any moss, weeds, or dirt that has gathered on the patio surface.
This tool is a great alternative to a pressure washer. It will not damage the mortar unintentionally or lift the paving slabs. What's even better is that this gadget boasts a completely cordless design, armed with a rechargeable battery, so you no longer have to deal with not-long-enough or in-the-way wires and extension leads.
While the 18V motor and hard-bristled roller make light work of tough cleaning, scrubbing through moss, weeds and dirt with ease, this cleaner also prioritises your comfort. It comes with a rubber overmould grip, telescopic shaft and adjustable auxiliary handle that promise to improve comfort and control over extended use, meaning no more stuping or over-reaching that may leave you aching after.
This cleaning device normally £143.99, but Amazon has slashed its price to £94.99. You can also buy the same patio cleaner at full price at Ryobi's online store or a similar model for £185 at B&Q.
Amazon shoppers love this patio cleaner, bestowing plenty of 5-star reviews. One thrilled customer shares: "Brilliant. It does exactly what it says. I have a patio at the rear of my property that continuously gets moss and weeds in the cracks. Every year I use to get down on my hands and knees and painfully remove it. It took for ever and was boring. Now with this little beauty it's done in a jiffy. Yes, it makes your back and hands ache a little but tell me any manual job that doesn't !!"
Further praise comes from those buyer who beams: "Very pleased with how this patio cleaner performs. I ordered the model without thr battery pack (make sure you order the right one!) Cleared all the weeds out of the patio in short time, I deliberately worked around the two little strawberry plants. didn't need to re-charge either. Would recommend."
And a third chimes in: "What an amazing piece of equipment. I suffer with back problems and this little gem has help me unbelievably. Highly recommended."
In case you're worried about health and safety when it comes to sprucing up your patio, this shopper notes: "Family member has a block drive and was struggling because of illness to keep on top of the growth between the blocks. Reluctant to use weedkiller because of neighbours pets and the drive is shared. This made the job easier and quicker. We opted to buy the items separate as the full package was not available. We debated on investing in a 2nd battery, wish we had now... recharge is quick, but breaks up the job. We will invest in a 2nd Battery for next time. Also worth noting the brush does not go too deep between the paving in this scenario, so just a light re-sanding needed (small bucket full for whole drive)."

Amazon Kindle Fire tablets shoppers 'use every day' slashed to £20 in 12-hour sale
Wowcher has slashed prices across a range of the reading devices. Bargain hunters looking for a budget-friendly tablet are in luck, as Wowcher is currently offering Amazon Kindle Fire devices for as little as £19.99. However, this deal is only available for a very limited time and will expire at midnight tonight, Wednesday, August 20. This means shoppers only have a few hours to take advantage of the offer. The Kindle Fire tablets on sale are refurbished models from a few years ago, with the most basic £19.99 version being the very first Kindle Fire tablet that Amazon launched back in 2011. As expected, this older piece of technology doesn't quite match up to today's standards, but it can still serve as a dedicated eReader or a digital photo frame. There are also some more recent devices available in the mix. For an additional tenner, shoppers can get their hands on a refurbished Kindle Fire 7 HD, which is a much more recent and powerful version of Amazon's popular tablet. With a 7-inch HD screen, it's perfect for watching films or casual web browsing. However, Amazon's tablets are known for being slightly underpowered, so don't expect to be editing Hollywood films on this device - it's primarily intended for consumption rather than creation. The devices on offer at Wowcher are all refurbished, meaning they've been previously owned and restored by professionals. As such, they should be in full working order with a few cosmetic marks here and there, reports the Manchester Evening News. Those preferring a fresh tablet can grab the most affordable model from Amazon's current Fire lineup, the HD 8, priced at £69.99. Android enthusiasts might fancy the Samsung A9, another sought-after device currently available for £77.99. Examining customer feedback for these earlier Kindle Fire variants, owners from that era appeared genuinely impressed. Boasting 4.5 stars across the board, it garnered remarkably favourable reviews. Tech deal of the week Shoppers looking for a set of budget earbuds are in luck as Amazon has a set that shoppers say work 'as well as Apple Airpods.' The Jxrev Wireless Earbuds usually retail for £24.99, but shoppers can now snap them up for £18.99 in a limited time deal. Providing up to eight hours of playtime from a single charge, these earbuds will let users listen to their favourite tunes, audiobooks and podcasts uninterrupted for hours on end. When used with the charging case, this boosts up to 40 hours. For those worried about losing battery in the middle of the day, the charging case also comes with an LED display so users know exactly how much battery is remaining. On top of this, shoppers will get clear calls as the earbuds come with environmental noise cancellation which will cancel out or suppress background noise to make users sound clearer. Many shoppers have raved over these earbuds, which currently have a 4.3 star rating. One happy shopper said: "These fit brilliantly and once you know what taps to do and when; they are excellent quality, value, usability and size. Great delivery speed too. "They fit my tiny ear canals brilliantly with no discomfort or problem using them. Easy to set up Bluetooth. They were 100 per cent charged which was greatly appreciated." One satisfied customer said: "My recommendations for people buying a Kindle Fire: If you are looking for an e-reader with additional functions, if you want to read magazines on your e-reader, if you want to watch the occasional movie and play a game here and there, then the Fire is right for you." A second reviewer states: "I got my Kindle Fire right when they were first released in 2011 - five years later I still use it every day, more than my iPad Mini." Nevertheless, certain buyers encountered difficulties whilst using the device. "It was heavy and the resolution was not great. I liked the iPad mini or Samsung tablet much better as they can be used for reading as well as web-browsing," one shopper revealed. Another review states: "I like this for reading books but it is horrible for Internet usage. There is a delay when you type and many pages don't load correctly. "I got an iPad eight months after I bought my Kindle and now I wish I had never bought the Kindle." However, another five-star reviewer commented: "I bought this for my 9-year-old daughter. It is amazing. "She loves reading books and playing games. It isn't as expensive as an iPad but it has pretty much all the great features an iPad has."

Exclusive: Amazon looks to ditch homegrown software for Android in Fire tablet revamp, sources say
SAN FRANCISCO, Aug 20 (Reuters) - Amazon (AMZN.O), opens new tab is plotting a big change to its Fire tablet lineup following years of escalating gripes from consumers and app developers over the company's homegrown operating system. As part of a project known internally as Kittyhawk, Amazon plans to release a higher-end tablet as soon as next year offering the Android operating system software for the first time, according to six people familiar with the matter. Since the Fire tablet's introduction in 2011, Amazon has used what is known as a 'forked' version of Android with custom modifications that make it work like a unique operating system. Amazon has long sought to undercut hardware rivals with inexpensive tablets and other devices that serve as a doorway to the firm's digital content, like e-books, videos and music. The devices have typically sold at or near manufacturing cost. But the focus on simplicity has held back sales, particularly among consumers who seek higher-performing devices. The multiyear project to switch to Android marks a philosophical change for the online retail giant, which has eschewed third-party operating systems and software in favor of its own. As a result, Amazon has offered its own app store requiring developers to make separate versions of their apps for Fire tablets, limiting the store's variety. If Kittyhawk is successful, Fire tablets could be more desirable for consumers who crave compatibility with other Android devices, the people said. They cautioned that Kittyhawk could be delayed or cancelled over financial or other concerns. Amazon declined to comment, saying it does not respond to rumors or speculation. 'Consumers have always expressed a concern about not having access to the latest Android versions, not having access to some of their apps because Amazon used their own store,' said Jitesh Ubrani, a researcher at IT advisory firm IDC. 'It's meant more work for developers in this day and age of largely free apps or services.' Ubrani noted that Amazon has nonetheless sold many millions of the tablets. Amazon has forfeited profits on the devices themselves in favor of making money on selling their associated services, like streaming movie rentals. But such inexpensive devices typically come with compromises like lower screen quality or battery life compared with pricier options. Amazon is the world's fourth-largest tablet seller, with 8% of the market, just behind Lenovo's ( opens new tab 8.2%, according to second-quarter IDC data. Apple (AAPL.O), opens new tab and Samsung ( opens new tab were the market leaders with 33.1% and 18.7%, respectively. The first Amazon Android tablet, slated for next year, will be pricier than current models, the people said. One of them said Amazon had discussed a $400 price tag, nearly double the cost of its current higher-end $230 Fire Max 11 tablet. IPads, by comparison, range from $350 to $1,200. Reuters could not learn additional specifications for the planned Amazon tablet, such as screen size and speaker quality or memory capacity. Amazon historically has avoided using software or other products from third parties, preferring to develop the services in-house or, barring that, to acquire a competitor. The Fire Phone smartphone championed by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and released in 2014 failed to win over buyers in part because of its reliance on Fire OS, as well as its high price tag. Amazon canceled the device and took a $170 million writedown. But the Seattle retailer has more recently shown a willingness to use rivals' services, particularly through its investment in startup Anthropic, whose Claude artificial intelligence software is the primary underpinning of Amazon's Alexa+ voice assistant and a chatbot used by employees known as Cedric. The new Fire tablet, the people said, will use the open-source version of Android, meaning it does not require direct coordination with Google and can be customized. Amazon is planning to roll out some lower-priced tablets with its Linux-based Vega operating system now in some Fire TV devices, some of the people said. The full slate of tablets will eventually be powered by a version of Android, the people said. The Fire project's internal code name of Kittyhawk seems to derive from the North Carolina town near where the Wright brothers conducted the first powered flight in 1903. But it is also the name of a failed flying car startup backed by Google co-founder Larry Page that burned through hundreds of millions in cash. Amazon declined to discuss the meaning behind its Kittyhawk project name.

B&M confirms exact date Scottish store will close with shoppers left 'heartbroken'
The firm will be switching its focus to a refurbished store nearby instead. The Scottish high street is set for another closure. This time, it's B&M that is shutting up shop, with one of its branches near Edinburgh being axed in the new year. The popular bargain retailer will be shuttering its Musselburgh store in East Lothian within the next few months, with bosses confirming it will close its doors on January 9, 2026. It's unclear why the store will be closing down, although the Scottish Sun reports that bosses have revealed that staff members will be relocated to alternative stores within the area. It comes as bosses have said that they will be switching focus onto the firm's store based in the Fort Kinnaird centre that has recently undergone a massive revamp. Located just 12 minutes away from the Musselburgh branch and actually within the capital's city limits, it now offers shoppers a garden centre and a much larger selection of products for them to browse through. A spokesperson for B&M said: "All colleagues from this store will be offered employment at local B&M stores in the surrounding area after the closure on January 9. 'We're committed to bringing the best possible B&M stores to East Lothian. "We recently upgraded our nearby Fort Kinnaird store – now home to a garden centre and a much bigger range just two miles away, ensuring we continue to offer the best possible shopping experience and broadest range in the area." Shoppers on social media haven't met the news lightly, with one saying: "More empty shops. No parking in Musselburgh to encourage retailers. Shame for staff." Another added: "A bloody disgrace." Someone else wrote: "Such a shame, it's always busy." While a fourth posted: "Heart is BROKEN, this is gutting." And a fifth chimed in: "Shocking news". Formed in 1978, B&M is now one of the UK's leading retailers on the high street, employing more than 35,000 staff members across over 700 stores, with 76 based in Scotland alone. The news comes amidst a wave of closures to hit the high street recently, with The Original Factory and Poundland closing down stores across Scotland in recent weeks, with more planned for the future. Meanwhile, in other high street related news, the UK branch of Claire's Accessories recently collapsed into administration, leaving 2,000 jobs across over 300 stores at risk. We reported last week that the jewellery firm's website was no longer taking orders. Customers are also unable to seek refunds on previously made orders after the company drafted in advisors to help repay a loan worth $480million (£355million).
