Squid Game Fans Spot Sneaky Final Season Easter Egg And They're Stunned

Yahoo07-07-2025
Squid Game fans have spotted an interesting detail pointing towards the show's ending in its very first season.
The hit Netflix drama premiered in 2022, and while it was originally only conceived as a one-season show, it was later renewed for two more by the streaming giant.
And right before the final instalment began streaming last week, viewers noticed an intriguing Easter egg that indicated when the show would come to an end.
In the last episode of season one, Gi-hun is seen checking his balance using a very unique debit card after surviving the titular games.
A close-up on this card revealed its expiry date as 06/25 – the very same month that Squid Game would eventually be coming to an end.

The third and final season of Squid Game premiered on Netflix on 27 June, becoming the first show to ever debut at number one in all 93 countries which have access to the platform.
Season three also set a new record for the most global views in a three-day period in Netflix's history.
Although creator Hwang Dong-hyuk has made it clear that the current Squid Game saga is now over, he has teased that the door is open to spin-offs, follow-ups or even a midquel in the future.
There are also rumours that a US remake with David Fincher at the helm is on the cards, while reality competition Squid Game: The Challenge is expected to return to our screens later in the year.
All three seasons of Squid Game are now streaming on Netflix.

Pamela Anderson Responds To Meghan Markle 'Rip-Off' Drama With 1 Perfect Line

Pamela Anderson has no time for catty comparisons to Meghan Markle. The 'Baywatch' star appeared on 'Watch What Happens Live' with Andy Cohen on Sunday, and was asked if she found the Duchess of Sussex's cooking show similar to her own. 'On a scale from one to 10, how much of a rip-off did you feel like 'With Love, Meghan' was of your show, 'Pamela's Cooking with Love?'' Cohen asked Anderson. 'There were articles saying that these two shows were very similar.' 'One ― I didn't [find them similar],' Anderson said while shaking her head no. 'One?' Cohen followed up. 'On a scale from one to 10, a one. You did not see any similarities?' 'I didn't really look,' the 'Naked Gun' actor explained before expertly shutting down any drama with one perfect line. 'I didn't invent cooking shows,' Anderson said with a laugh. 'So I mean ― she's just doing her thing.' Anderson's show was released in February 2025 on Amazon Prime, while Meghan's show premiered on Netflix in March after a two-month delay due to the wildfires in California. Meghan's show and lifestyle brand have previously drawn comparisons to Anderson's show, as well as Gwyneth Paltrow's and Martha Stewart's empires. While Paltrow and the duchess unveiled a surprise social media collaboration to shut down rumors of any beef between the two, Stewart was a little cagier in her most recent response to supposed similarities. 'Meghan I don't really know very well, and I hope she knows what she's talking about,' Stewart said of the duchess during an interview with Yahoo Lifestyle. 'Authenticity, to me, is everything, and to be authentic and knowledgeable about your subject matter is extremely important,' the lifestyle guru added. Related... Diego Pavia on SEC football Netflix show: '(Expletive) ... them dudes' at Tennessee

Expect an eye-opening Diego Pavia clip from the new Netflix SEC series to resurface in the Tennessee football locker room before the Vanderbilt game this November. 'We can beat Tennessee literally any given Saturday. They think they're going to destroy us,' Pavia, the Vanderbilt quarterback, said in the Netflix documentary, which was released on Aug. 5. '(Expletive) every single one of them dudes, you know? We're gonna win this game at all costs.' Pavia said those remarks in an interview during the Netflix series called 'SEC Football: Any Given Saturday.' Episode 7 features the Tennessee-Vanderbilt game and the Vols making the College Football Playoff last season. Vanderbilt coach Clark Lea joined Pavia in his desire to beat rival Tennessee, as seen in the behind-the-scenes access granted to Netflix. 'I want to (expletive) beat Tennessee, and I need everyone to be on the same page,' Lea told his players during a team meeting in the Tennessee game week. 'We're not leaving that stadium Saturday without a win.' It didn't go that way, though. Tennessee beat Vanderbilt 36-23 on Nov. 30 to earn a spot in the playoff. T.J. Hooker Reboot in the Works at Netflix — But There's a Twist

Netflix has copped the rights to an iconic 1980s TV drama. The streaming service is developing T.J. Hooker, a feature-length action comedy based on the William Shatner police procedural, Deadline reports. The movie is being penned by Jarrad Paul and Andy Mogel, who previously created the short-lived (but fondly remembered) Fox comedy The Grinder. #TeenLife More from TVLine What to Watch in August: Your Guide to 130+ Premieres Across Broadcast, Cable and Streaming Every New Scripted Show Confirmed to Premiere in 2025 — Save the Dates! My Life With the Walter Boys Gets Even Messier in New Season 2 Trailer - Watch The original T.J. Hooker premiered as a midseason replacement in March 1982, and starred Star Trek veteran Shatner as Thomas Jefferson 'T. J.' Hooker, a sergeant in the Los Angeles County Police Department who was determined to rid the streets of criminals like those who murdered his former partner. The cast initially included Adrian Zmed (as Officer Vincent 'Vince' Romano), April Clough (as Officer Vicki Taylor) and Richard Herd (as Captain Dennis Sheridan). Clough departed after Season 1, at which point Heather Locklear joined the ensemble (as Officer Stacy Sheridan). James Darren (as Officer Jim Corrigan) and Hugh Farrington (as Detective Lieutenant Pete O'Brien) also co-starred. When ABC cancelled the series after four seasons, CBS swooped in and gave it a fifth (and final) season. All told, 91 episodes were produced and currently stream on Tubi. The reboot news follows the theatrical release of the new Naked Gun starring Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson, which made $17 million domestically on opening weekend. According to Deadline, it is unclear if Shatner will have any involvement in the new T.J. Hooker — but TVLine will keep you posted as we learn more. Do you think is worthy of a style reboot?
