Rosie O'Donnell says Amazon billionaire Jeff Bezos' $50m wedding ‘turned my stomach'

In a post on Instagram, the former talk show host called Sánchez a 'fake fem bot wife' before praising Bezos' first wife, MacKenzie Scott
The Ireland-based US comic launched a scathing attack on the weekend extravaganza in Venice that had 'turned my stomach'.
O'Donnell did not hold back as she also took aim at the star-studded guest list, which included celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey, the Kardashian-Jenner family, Leonardo DiCaprio, Orlando Bloom, Tom Brady, Sydney Sweeney and many others.

'The BEZOS wedding,' O'Donnell declared, 'it turned my stomach. Seeing all these billionaires. Gathering in the gross excess of it all. The show of it.'
'Is Oprah friends with Jeff Besos,' she asked. 'Really – how is that possible. He treats his employees with disdain. By any metric he is not a nice man.'
'And his fake fem bot wife. Who looks like that. Why would he choose her. After the salt of the earth Mackenzie.'
'Sold his soul. Is what it looks like from here. The devil is smiling. At all his conquests.'
Bezos and Scott divorced in 2019 after nearly 25 years of marriage.
She walked away with $38 billion and a 4% stake in Amazon after the split and, according to the New York Post, pledged to give away at least half of her wealth.
O'Donnell, who moved to Ireland earlier this year with her 12-year-old nonbinary child Clay, was not the only celebrity to criticise the lavish Italian wedding that took place last Friday.
During her fifth annual Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project Block Party over the weekend, the actress said: 'I think we might be the only people who did not get an invite to the Bezos wedding.
Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez
'But that's OK because they suck and we're cool,' she added, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Theron then thanked her audience for 'taking the time to be a part of this, especially when the world feels like it's burning, because it is.'
'Yeah, f**k them,' she added.
Other celebrities used the opportunity to praise the billionaire's 'awesome' first wife with Mia Farrow posting: 'How awesome is MacKenzie Scott! As of mid-December 2024, she had given a total of $19.3 billion to over 1600 charitable organizations.'
The US celebrity who has Donegal ancestry moved to Ireland after Donald Trump's election to a second term as president.
A staunch critic of Trump for decades, she made the move to Dublin in January.
She said previously: 'When he got the nomination I said to my therapist, 'I can't survive another four years with him, I know I can't.'
She said, 'What's the plan?' And I said I would move to Ireland, it's the only country I would move to, I have family there that we have kept in touch with and I know that I can get citizenship because of my grandparents.' And she said, 'Let's start to make that plan.'
Rosie moved here with her 12-year-old non-binary child, Clay, because of the Trump administration's policies.
'I spoke to Clay and said that for trans people and trans kids and gay people it's [America] is not a safe place to be. And for women, they've taken away our rights that I remember fighting for in the early '70s.'
Although she misses her family who still live in the US, O'Donnell says she has no regrets about leaving America. 'Clay is very happy here,' she says. 'Clay has autism and supports are being taken away in America.'
Although Rosie's friends were surprised she left America for Ireland, she points out that she quit her TV show at the height of its success.
'I made crazy, insane money, the kind of money if you made it for one year you'd never have to work again… and I did it for six years,' she adds.

Suzanne Kane says she was ‘standing up for herself' after sudden exit from 98FM

The DJ had been hosting the mid-morning show alongside Brian Dowling but had been on leave from the programme since February. Last month, the Dubliner revealed she was stepping away from the show after five years on air. Speaking to RSVP Magazine, Suzanne noted how she never likes to be the 'loudest person in the room'. 'I have no want in the world to annihilate anybody. I don't like confrontation or conflict,' she explained. 'I was standing up for myself, it was never about anybody else. My dad passed 20 years ago but he always taught me that you never get your point across when you shout. 'I've learned that you don't have to be the loudest person in the room to be heard. Sometimes saying very little is all you need to say, and you move on to the next bit.' In June, Suzanne broke the silence over the matter with a lengthy Instagram post that she described as a 'life update'. "After nearly 5 years, I'm stepping away from my role presenting 10AM to 1PM on 98FM,' she said at the time. 'Anyone who knows me, will know how much I adore radio and the Bauer family inside Marconi house, but for now, it's time to let the 'Good Times' roll for someone else. 'A word to the amazing team, I loved the madness and radio nerdiness that we all shared and how much we cared. Radio is really special and that's because of the people who do the heavy lifting to make it all come together. I'm glad to have been on this rollercoaster with you all. ADVERTISEMENT Learn more 'To everyone who listened to the show. I loved sharing my life and my kids with the soundest listeners on 98FM. We've been through a lot together & thank you for always turning up for me, it means more than any of you will know. "Lastly, a quick word to my kiddos Oisín, Hannah & Sadie. Thank you for letting me have a go of my dream radio job and playing ball every morning, even the really tough ones, so I could be in front of the mic by 10am and of course, Joey - the voice of support, the constant, the reassurance, who always has the reminder 'We'll figure it out, we always do'.' The mum-of-three has been working in the industry for over two decades and is expected to land a new role in the near future. Alongside his former co-host, Brian Dowling also revealed last month that he too would be departing the 98FM programme in an Instagram post released just minutes after Suzanne's. 'I made the decision earlier in the year that I would not be continuing co-hosting on Brian Dowling & Suzanne Kane on @98fmdublin making this Friday June 6th my very last show on Brian Dowling & Suzanne Kane,' he wrote on social media. "When I joined Suzanne back in March of 2023, I had ZERO radio hosting skills. Blake was only 6 months old & baby Blu was only a twinkle in our eyes. "It took me a minute to get into my new groove, but when I did, WOW, I honestly have had the best time & have genuinely laughed every day; even on those bad days, being part of this show ALWAYS puts a smile on my face. "Here we are now 2 years & 3 months later & I'm still laughing & smiling. I have learned so much about an industry I've been in for nearly 24 years, presenting mainly television shows but now my love for radio easily equals my love for telly.'
