Selena Gomez's New Choppy Cowboy Bob Is The Best Way To Wear A Fringe This Summer
Selena Gomez just proved that bobs with bangs are trending this summer, debuting the ultimate 'choppy cowboy bob' via Instagram. The singer traded out her sleek, one-length haircut this weekend, stepping out with a new layered crop, complete with wispy waves and a flattering letterbox fringe. Lo0king for a way to update your lengths for the warmer months ahead? This is how to give this tousled cool girl cut a whirl in 2025.
Celebrity hairdresser Melissa Timperley defines the 'cowboy bob' as rugged meets refined. Think effortless texture with a modern finesse.
'Slightly longer at the front with shaggy, undone layers, this cut channels effortless cool with a rebellious edge,' she says. 'It pairs perfectly with curtain bangs or a sweeping fringe, giving it that lived-in, windswept feel. Think city-chic meets desert muse: confident, carefree, and unapologetically stylish.'
If you're thinking of recreating the cut yourself, it's best to start by examining your natural texture first. For hair types with a natural movement and wave, air-styling will be your best friend. Thicker heads of hair will be best suited to a nourishing styling cream, while finer hair types can achieve a similar effect with a thinner mousse texture; this will add volume and shape without adding extra weight to the hair.
Gomez's new 'cowboy bob' is far from her first experimental hairstyle in recent memory. In fact, the singer has shown herself to be somewhat of a haircut chameleon in 2025. The Rare Beauty founder has sported an array of shorter cuts this year, from flipped 'bellbottom' styles and romantic Hollywood curls, to airy bobs that spotlight her natural texture and graphic pin-straight finishes. Our personal favourite? This effortless chic, fringed 'do.

'RHOA' Cast Reacts to Sudden Death of Porsha Williams' Late Cousin Londie Favors
Yolanda "Londie" Favors died suddenly in August 2024 at the age of 34, just weeks before her birthday Porsha Williams shared the sad news about her late cousin with Phaedra Parks in a phone call that aired in the latest episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta Londie was featured several times on the show and also appeared alongside Porsha in her 2021 spinoff series, Porsha's Family MattersThe Real Housewives of Atlanta cast is paying tribute to Porsha Williams' late cousin, Yolanda 'Londie' Favors. The latest episode of the Bravo show captured the ladies' reactions to Londie's unexpected death, which occurred in August 2024. In a brief phone call, an emotional Porsha revealed the 'huge loss' to longtime friend and RHOA co-star Phaedra Parks. 'It just was so sudden, so difficult,' Porsha said. 'Londie was just the most giving person you can ever think of. Loyal person, the most creative with her company. She did so much for my grandfather's foundation. The most honest person you can ever think of.' Phaedra noted that Londie, who was also featured in the Porsha's Family Matters spinoff series from 2021 to 2022, was like a 'little sister' to Porsha. 'I'm devastated because I know Londie was really the backbone of their family,' Phaedra continued in her confessional. 'Very young, but just brilliant. I mean, a sweetheart, and I know Porsha is devastated.' Just hours later, the women gathered for Phaedra's 'Black Glove Affair' party, where she shared the tragic news with everyone. 'So tonight, Porsha wasn't here because — me and Shamea [Morton] definitely know Londie — Londie, her cousin, died suddenly,' Phaedra explained. 'So she's dealing with that.' Cynthia Bailey, who has known Porsha for over 13 years, let out an audible gasp as Shamea began to sob in Phaedra's arms. 'I'm in shock,' Cynthia told cameras. 'Londie was so sweet, so loving. This is devastating news.' Phaedra went on to remind the group that it was important to be there for Porsha despite any of their differences. 'We fall out, but at the end of day, we're sisters,' she added. 'We've got to stick together and really support one another, because you never know when it's the last time.' Londie was weeks away from her 35th birthday when she died on Sunday, Aug. 11, 2024. The cause of death was not announced at the time. 'So it's true, when all is said and done, grief is the price we pay for love,' Porsha began an Instagram tribute that week, using a quote from author E.A. Bucchianeri. 'Londie - you were our best friend, our sister, our aunt, our cousin, and so much more,' her tribute continued. 'Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure, and you are loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure.' 'The impact and value you provided all of us during your time here was tremendous, but we know that your spirit will always be with us every day guiding us through this difficult time and what's still to come. For that, we're eternally grateful,' she concluded. Sofia Richie Grainge's new 'French Riviera bob' is going to be the most in-demand style of summer
Hair trends will come and go, but if there's one thing we can rely on, it's that the bob will always remain timeless. Our proof? Sofia Richie Grainge's latest style. The model unveiled a brand new haircut over the weekend, and we're sure that this bob is about to take over summer 2025. Posing against the idyllic backdrop of the famous Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc, Grainge took to Instagram to share that she'd traded out her signature long blonde tresses for an effortless, chin-length bob. Her new cut was masterminded by hair stylist George Curran, who styled her with a middle-parting and gently rounded ends. This hair is a noticeably a softer look for Grainge, who often favours a tightly slicked-back bun. The summery style features lighter face-framing pieces at the front with a more muted blonde blended throughout, creating a 'quiet luxury' spin on the shade that sits perfectly with Grainge's go-to minimalist wardrobe. Simply captioning her Instagram post "French Bob", the socialite embraced the Riviera in more than one way, wearing a twist on the Breton stripe with a sleek black tank top and a diagonally-lined black and white skirt. The bob has become big business for the A-list in the past couple of years. From Hailey Bieber's internet-breaking style to Hailee Steinfeld's 'clavi-cut' and Leslie Bibb's White Lotus crop, celebrities are providing us with an abundance of inspiration and tempting many to take the chop. While 'Old Money' and retro bobs were trending upwards earlier this year thanks to an array of red carpet iterations, it seems that more undone, softly-cut bobs like Bibb and Grainge's are shaping up to be the most-coveted style of the summer. Sofia Richie Grainge Got a Bob to Banish Her Over-Processed Hair
Getty Images Welcome to the bob life, Sofia Richie Grainge! The model and entrepreneur just got the trendiest cut of summer 2025—one you may have seen on a little show called The White Lotus. Though some people (myself included) cut their hair off on a whim, Richie Grainge had been thinking 'long and hard' about chopping her hair for awhile, as it was feeling dry and over-processed. 'I've done one too many keratin treatments on my hair for the past six months I've just been cutting at it, cutting at it, hoping that I'd get this dead away,' Richie Grainge explained in a TikTok documenting her experience, lifting up her ends to show us the damage. 'It's just not going away. I know what I have to do to make this hair healthy again and it's to start over… so we're cutting a bob.' It was time for a 'fresh start,' and Richie Grainge was ready to go all the way; she decided she did not want a lob, but a true short bob, and landed on a jawline-length French bob style cut by George Curran. And of course she documented the entire thing on video so we could enjoy watching the transformation. Richie Grainge was thrilled with the final result. Gone was the collarbone-length blonde hair and in its place, a sleek, cropped blunt-cut bob. 'I love my bob,' she said as Curran sliced and shaped. 'I freaking love it.' And she wasn't alone! After she shared pics of the new hair, White Lotus star Leslie Bibb, who wore what has become known as a 'c*nty little bob' in the third season and helped make the ultra-short style a major summer trend, warmly welcomed Richie Grainge into the club. Today host Jenna Bush Hager also recently joined the crew, having had her short bob chopped on live TV by Bibb's stylist Chris McMillan. If you've ever cut off a ton of dry, damaged hair, you know exactly how good it feels so say goodbye to those split, fried ends and start fresh—and if you can feel a warm ocean breeze dancing across your now-bare neck, even better!
