Murder probe after teenager stabbed to death in ‘targeted attack'
The 19-year-old man was attacked just before 9pm on Friday in a car park on Market Street in Bury, Greater Manchester.
He suffered several stab wounds and later died from his injuries.
No arrests have been made.
Detective Chief Inspector John Charlton, from Greater Manchester Police's major incident team, said the victim's family were being supported, adding: 'This incident will have shocked the community and distressed anyone who witnessed it, but we believe this was a targeted attack with no wider threat.
'We have several scenes in place with the investigation ongoing in order to identify and apprehend the offenders responsible.
'There will be officers in the area today and in the coming days as we are determined to bring the family the answers they deserve.

They were later bailed by police pending further inquiries. In a statement, police said: "Investigators are appealing for dashcam footage and witnesses as they continue enquiries into a disorder on Parkfield Road, Wolverhampton, in the early hours of last Sunday morning. "A week on from the violence, one man in his 20s who suffered life-threatening head injuries, remains in a serious condition in hospital. "A second man who also needed hospital treatment has since been discharged. "Nine men have been arrested and questioned following the disorder involving weapons which happened at just after midnight early last Sunday morning (27 July). "They have been released on police bail with strict conditions as the investigation continue." Detective Inspector Adam Keen from Wolverhampton CID, said: "We're moving ahead with our enquiries to establish exactly what happened and we're appealing for anyone who was driving in the area that night to check their dashcam. "Parkfield Road is a busy road even at night, so if you were there between 11.50pm on the Saturday night through to 12.15am early on the Sunday morning we'd ask you to take a look at your footage as it may have vital information that can assist us. Man, 32, charged in fatal shooting at Royal Oak apartment complex
A 32-year-old man is accused of fatally shooting a maintenance worker at an apartment complex in Royal Oak, Michigan, police said Sunday. Officers responded to Thursday's shooting on the 3800 block of Crooks Road around noon. Officials saw the suspected shooter, later identified as Nathaniel Joshua-Olson Rockwell, and took him into custody shortly after arriving, according to police. Responding law enforcement then found that a maintenance worker, identified by police as 65-year-old Gregory Hill of Southfield, Michigan, had been shot. Hill died at the scene. Multiple witnesses told officers that Rockwell was in a heated argument with a resident of the apartment when Rockwell "suddenly ran to his car" and pulled out a handgun, according to police. The resident then ran away, and Rockwell turned his attention to Hill, who was in the vicinity of the argument. Police said in a news release on Sunday that Rockwell is charged with one count of first-degree murder, three counts of felony firearm and two counts of felonious assault with a dangerous weapon. "This was a senseless act of horrific violence," Chief Michael Moore said in the release. "We extend our deepest condolences to the victim's family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.
