PSG Exclude Donnarumma from Super Cup Squad Amid Exit Speculation
Paris Saint-Germain excluded Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma from their squad for Wednesday's UEFA Super Cup clash with Tottenham Hotspur in Udine, in a move widely seen as a clear signal that his time at the club is coming to an end.
The match at the Stadio Friuli, the traditional season opener between the Champions League winners and Europa League holders, comes amid growing tension between Donnarumma and the club.
Talks over a contract extension have collapsed, with his current deal running only until June 2026.
PSG have already secured his replacement, Lucas Chevalier, from Lille.
PSG Coach Luis Enrique delivered a firm message by omitting Donnarumma from the travelling party entirely, suggesting the 25-year-old may have already played his final match for the club—despite being instrumental in last season's historic quadruple, which included the Champions League title.
The Premier League is tipped to be his next destination, with Manchester United and Chelsea showing interest.
Galatasaray and Bayern Munich are also monitoring the situation, though Inter and Juventus are unlikely to meet his salary demands.

Frank confident Spurs will be 'incredibly competitive' against PSG - World
Tottenham manager Thomas Frank said Tuesday he is expecting his team to be "incredibly competitive" in his first game in charge against Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Super Cup. The former Brentford boss could not have been given a tougher opening match in the Spurs dug-out, facing a PSG side who romped to their maiden Champions League title with a 5-0 thumping of Inter Milan in May. "I am convinced we will be incredibly competitive tomorrow," Frank told reporters ahead of Wednesday's game in Udine. "Paris are, of course, further down the line in terms of their peak performance, but we are ready for the match... "For everyone involved in Tottenham it's a massive game, a big challenge and a great opportunity. We will definitely embrace it and give everything. We are playing an ok team, but we are ready for it." Tottenham ended a 17-year wait for a major trophy with victory over Manchester United in last season's Europa League final. But it was not enough to save then-coach Ange Postecoglou from the sack after they stumbled to a 17th-placed finish in the Premier League. Dane Frank was brought in with the job to achieve some consistency, after taking Brentford to a top-10 finish in the Premier League in his seventh campaign at the helm. "Thomas Frank has come in and brought a lot of energy," said experienced defender Ben Davies. "The lads are really enjoying working under him, and it's very exciting. We're hoping the work we've put in so far will pay dividends tomorrow night." It will be Spurs' first outing since forward Son Heung-min's departure for LAFC in the United States, while James Maddison is also absent after suffering a serious knee injury during a pre-season friendly. "We feel his loss but the senior guys have to be there to support everyone," Davies said of Son's exit. "We need to make sure we, as experienced players, stand up and make sure we let every player in this team be the player they are." Striker Dominic Solanke is fit to play following injury, however, Frank said midfielder Yves Bissouma had been left out for "disciplinary reasons". Spurs have signed Mohammed Kudus from West Ham to bolster their attacking options and he could be in line to make his debut against PSG. Egypt's Sports Minister unveils national youth and sports strategy for 2025-2032
Egypt on Tuesday launched its first National Strategy for Youth and Sports for 2025–2032, a comprehensive plan aimed at developing the two sectors to serve over 61% of the country's population, the Ministry of Youth and Sports said. The strategy was launched under the patronage of Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, in partnership with United Nations organisations in Egypt, the cabinet's Information and Decision Support Centre, and the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport. The launch coincided with International Youth Day. In a recorded message, Prime Minister Madbouly said the state is determined to turn the strategy into a 'tangible reality' through careful monitoring, integration between entities, and investment in the capabilities of its youth, whom he described as 'the true wealth of Egypt.' Minister of Youth and Sports, Ashraf Sobhy, said that work on the strategy began in 2019 and overcame challenges including the COVID-19 pandemic and global changes. He stated it was the first national strategy of its kind for the youth and sports sectors in Egypt. 'The strategy represents a major step in developing the youth and sports sectors in cooperation with civil society institutions, to serve more than 61% of the population,' Sobhy said during the launch event. He explained that the plan is based on four main pillars: the integrated upbringing and development of youth; promoting sports and physical activity as a lifestyle; enhancing athletic competition and achieving leadership; and improving governance in the youth and sports sectors to boost their contribution to the economy and sustainable development. 'The main goal of the national strategy is the optimal investment in the energies and potentials of Egyptian youth, turning them into a driving force for sustainable development,' Sobhy added. In her own recorded message, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Rania Al-Mashat, said that despite global challenges, the government has set ambitious development goals under its action programme and Egypt's Vision 2030, with investment in youth energies being a strategic necessity for achieving comprehensive and sustainable economic development. The launch event was attended by the Minister of Education, Mohamed Abdel Latif, as well as former ministers, heads of authorities, ambassadors, university presidents, public figures, and representatives of civil society, the private sector, and youth and sports federations and clubs.

Bundesliga set for longer games as Germany embraces more added time in soccer - World
Bundesliga games will take longer this season as Germany joins a drive to calculate added time more precisely. Germany's top men's league is the latest to follow a trend set by the 2022 World Cup and the English Premier League by measuring the exact time taken up by events like red cards, penalties and injuries, and adding that amount on at the end of each half. 'We currently have just under 60 minutes of net playing time (with the ball in play), which will probably increase somewhat,' said Knut Kircher, the German refereeing body's managing director of sports and communication, in comments reported Tuesday by German agency dpa. The new Bundesliga season starts Aug. 22 but the changes have already taken effect in the men's second and third tiers. There's been a backlash against some decisions.
