Chipotle is offering free guacamole for a year to thousands of fans.... here's how to get it

Chipotle is giving away free guacamole for a year — and all you need is Snapchat and an avocado.
The chain is marking its biggest guac giveaway ever with a new 'AvoLotto Sweepstakes' running from today until Wednesday.
Fans can open Snapchat, use the AR Lens to scan real avocados, and see if they've won.
Winners will get a message with a code they must add to their Chipotle Rewards account within five days.
Up to 1,000 people on each the three days will score a year's worth of free guac.
On July 31 — National Avocado Day — Chipotle will give all Rewards members a free topping or side of guacamole with entrée purchases using the code at participating US stores.
Those not into guac can try Chipotle's new Adobo Ranch sauce, now available at nearly 3,800 locations.
Chipotle's guacamole is one of the chain's most popular homemade offerings.
Crew members arrive at Chipotle restaurants every morning at 6:00 to prep the sauce made of up of avocados, cilantro, red onion, jalapeno, citrus juice and kosher salt.
'Each year for National Avocado Day, the holiday that has become synonymous with Chipotle, we find new and creative ways for fans to score our hand-mashed guac,' said Chris Brandt, president, chief brand officer.
'We only use real ingredients in our restaurants, so when we worked with Snapchat to create 'AvoLotto,' we had to make sure that it only detects real fruit.'
Besides avocados, Chipotle is celebrating the summertime by giving Rewards members the chance to earn extra point and badges through its 'Summers of Extras' offer.
The in-app feature also comes with a private dashboard that tracks members' transaction performance against other users in their state.
A longtime member of top fast-food chain lists, Chipotle is one of the nation's most popular restaurant brands that Wall Street experts revealed was one of the best stocks to invest in.
While the chain is financially stable, it suffered a historic first quarter sales slump and was outperformed by the Noodles & Company pasta chain.
The sales dive is not getting in the way of Chipotle's plans to keep growing.
Experts predict Chipotle will suffer its second straight sales
Prior to the quarterly earnings release, the chain responded to bankruptcy rumors by announcing plans to open between 315 and 345 restaurants this year.
The expansion is part of Chipotle's strategy to reach 7,000 locations in the US and Canada.
The company is also getting ready to open its first restaurant in Mexico next year through a partnership with Alsea.
The expansion agreement was met with mockery from fans, but it's a business venture Chipotle believes will be beneficial.
'We are confident that our responsibly sourced, classically-cooked real food will resonate with guests in Mexico,' said chief business development officer Nate Lawson.
'The country's familiarity with our ingredients and affinity for fresh food make it an attractive growth market for our company.'
The chain will release its second quarter earnings report on July 23. As of now, experts predict the chain will suffer its second straight sales decline.

Gold succumbs to profit-taking after US jobs data-fuelled rally

Aug 4 (Reuters) - Gold prices slipped on Monday as investors booked profits after a sharp rise in the previous session following weaker-than-expected U.S. jobs data that boosted expectations for a Federal Reserve interest rate cut in September. Spot gold lost 0.3% to $3,354.17 per ounce as of 0229 GMT. Bullion had risen more than 2% on Friday. However, U.S. gold futures gained 0.2% to $3,407.10. "Gold has made a conservative start to the week following Friday's price jump. A combination of profit taking and dollar stabilisation has caused gold to ease marginally to kick-off the week," KCM Trade Chief Market Analyst Tim Waterer said. Asian markets tracked Wall Street lower as fears for the U.S. economy returned with a vengeance, prompting investors to price in an almost certain rate cut in September and undermining the dollar. Last week, U.S. job growth slowed more than expected in July, with nonfarm payrolls increasing by 73,000 jobs last month, after rising by a downwardly revised 14,000 in June, the Labor Department's Bureau of Labor Statistics said. This revived hopes of a Fed rate cut in September, with markets now pricing in an 81% chance, per CME FedWatch tool, opens new tab. The tariffs U.S. President Donald Trump imposed last week on scores of countries are likely to stay in place rather than be cut as part of continuing negotiations, Trade Representative Jamieson Greer said in comments aired on Sunday. "But with Trump on the tariff warpath once again, and the soft U.S. jobs report increasing the odds that we could see a September FOMC rate cut, any pullbacks in the precious metal could be of a shallow nature," Waterer added. Gold, traditionally considered a safe-haven asset during political and economic uncertainties, tends to thrive in a low-interest-rate environment. Spot silver fell 0.6% to $36.80 per ounce, platinum slipped 0.6% to $1,307.02 and palladium eased 0.9% to $1,197.76.

Indian equity benchmarks to open higher after five weeks of losses

Aug 4 (Reuters) - India's equity benchmarks are expected to open higher on Monday, following five straight weeks of losses as investors assess U.S. tariffs and the Federal Reserve's future policy action after weak labour market data. Gift Nifty futures were trading at 24,678.5 points as of 7:42 a.m. IST, indicating that the Nifty 50 (.NSEI), opens new tab will open above its previous close of 24,565.35. The Nifty and Sensex (.BSESN), opens new tab indexes fell about 1.1% last week, marking their fifth straight weekly loss as the U.S. hit several trading partners with steep tariffs and imposed a 25% duty on India, stoking global growth worries. Meanwhile, data showed that U.S. employment growth was weaker than expected in July and the count for the prior two months was revised down significantly, increasing the probability of a September interest rate cut by the Federal Reserve. Lower U.S. interest rates are associated with lower Treasury yields and a weak dollar, making emerging market equities such as India's more attractive for foreign portfolio investors (FPIs), who have been on a selling spree recently. FPIs sold Indian shares worth $2.05 billion last month, taking their total selling in Indian equities in 2025 to $11.63 billion. Market participants will remain focused on tariffs until certainty emerges over a trade deal between the U.S. and India, analysts said. ** Conglomerate ITC ( opens new tab beats first-quarter profit estimates, buoyed by higher sales of cigarettes and packaged food, particularly in rural areas ** Tata Power ( opens new tab reports lower-than-expected quarterly profit due to weak electricity demand ** Multi Commodity Exchange of India ( opens new tab posts strong growth in profit and revenue for the first quarter, and announces a 1:5 stock split

Goldman keeps Brent oil forecast, but flags downside risks to demand

Aug 4 (Reuters) - Goldman Sachs on Sunday reiterated its oil price forecast with Brent averaging $64 per barrel in the fourth quarter of 2025 and $56 in 2026, but expects an increasing range of risks to its baseline estimates from recent developments. "Increasing pressure on Russia and Iran sanctioned oil supply poses an upside risk to our price forecast, especially given the faster-than-expected normalization in spare capacity," the investment bank said in an August 3 note. However, Goldman flagged a downside risk to its 800,000 barrels per day average annual demand growth forecast in 2025-2026 due to the increase in U.S. tariff rates, threats of additional secondary tariffs and weak U.S. economic activity data. The weaker data "suggests that the U.S. economy is now growing at a below-potential pace", which the bank's economists' feel has increased the chance of a recession in the next 12 months, the note said. The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and its allies such as Russia, known as OPEC+, agreed on Sunday to raise oil production by 547,000 barrels per day for September, the latest in a series of accelerated output hikes to regain market share. "While OPEC+ policy remains flexible, we assume OPEC+ will keep its production quota unchanged after September as we expect the pace of builds in OECD commercial stocks to accelerate and seasonal demand tailwinds to fade away," Goldman said. Brent crude futures were trading at $69.27 a barrel at 0115 GMT while U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude was at $66.96 a barrel. "We continue to see limited risk of large disruptions in Russia supply given the large volumes of Russian imports, the possibility for deepening price discounts to maintain demand, and continuing reported eagerness of the key buyers - China and India," analysts at Goldman Sachs said. Indian state refiners have stopped buying Russian oil in the past week as discounts narrowed this month and U.S. President Donald Trump warned countries not to purchase oil from Moscow, industry sources said.
