How is Eddie Murphy now related to Martin Lawrence?
Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence are now related. The two actors are delighted that Eddie's son Eric Murphy, 35, and Martin's daughter Jasmin Lawrence, 29, "ran off and got married" at a "church" a couple of weeks ago, following their engagement in November 2024. Eddie - who starred in the 1999 Universal comedy-thriller 'Life' with Martin - spilled on their decision to elope to Jennifer Hudson, 43, on her eponymous talk show, saying: "They got married, like, two weeks ago. "They went off ... everybody was making the big wedding plans, and then they decided they wanted to do something quiet with just the two of them. And then they got married." As Eric and Jasmin opted for a low-key affair, the 'Shrek' star - who has Eric with his former girlfriend Paulette McNeely, who he dated in the 1980s - joked that Martin no longer has to stump up a lot of cash to pay for a lavish wedding for his daughter. He joked: "Yeah, we're in-laws. And he doesn't have to pay for that big wedding now. "They went off and got married at the church. They just had the two of them and the preacher. They had a quiet, little thing. "Some people have like a big party, or something, but they ran off and got married." The 'Big Momma' star - who has Jasmin with his 54-year-old ex-wife Patricia Southall - previously revealed that he was expected to pay for Eric and Jasmin's wedding because Eddie covered the costs of his children's "last six weddings". Appearing on iHeartRadio's 'Big Boy's Neighborhood' in December 2024, Martin said: "Eddie said I gotta pay for it. "He said I gotta pay for it, 'cause he paid for his last daughter's wedding — like the last six weddings — but he said it's my turn now." Eddie's 1985 song 'Party All the Time' was the lead single on his first album 'How Could It Be', and it spent three weeks at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart. However, the 'Beverly Hills Cop' actor insisted he will not be singing if Eric and Jasmin - who began dating in 2021 - have a second wedding that will see the smitten couple say "I do" in front of family and friends or a celebratory party. But, he did not rule out on performing a "duet" with Martin. After Jennifer teased the idea of Eddie picking up a microphone and performing, the dad-of-10 said: "No, I'm not singing! Martin will sing at the wedding. Do a duet. Yeah, maybe."

‘Meet the Parents 4' Reveals Oscar-Nominee Is Joining Cast
Ariana Grande's movie career is already, ahem, Defying Gravity. The Wicked star has already started prepping for a new hit film, Meet the Parents 4, alongside none other than Hollywood legends Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro. The movie is set to hit the big screen on Nov. 25, 2026, only four days after Grande's second Wicked film arrives in theaters. Meet the Parents 4 will be the newest installment in Universal's classic comedy films. The first in the series, which came out in 2000, featured Ben Stiller as a nurse who faced hilarious mayhem while visiting his girlfriend's parents (Robert De Niro and Blythe Danner). Teri Polo stars as Stiller's girlfriend in the film, and Owen Wilson stars as her ex-boyfriend. The flick was an immediate hit and two follow-up movies were promptly rolled out in 2004 and 2010. Polo and Danner are expected to return alongside Stiller and De Niro, but the deals have yet to close, reported The Hollywood Reporter. In the upcoming installment, the son of Stiller and Polo gets engaged to an aggressive and dominating woman who isn't a great match. Grande allegedly plays this fiancée. Grande, who largely kicked off her career on Nickelodeon sitcom Victorious before excelling as a pop star, recently forayed back into acting in this year's record-breaking musical remake of Wicked. She earned an Oscar nomination for her role, along with Golden Globe, SAG, and BAFTA nominations for best support actress. The movie earned almost $800 million worldwide. Although casting directors have been tripping over each other to book her, she's declined several projects from Universal, Sony and Warner Bros., including one that would have given her the ability to pick her co-star. But Meet the Parents 4 finally caught her eye. When Meet the Parents first came out, it grossed over $330 million in the global box office, a number that would today be much higher. It also gave rise to another line of comedy sensations: Meet the Fockers with Dustin Hoffman and Barbara Streisand, and Little Fockers, which culminated in a total franchise gross of $1.13 billion globally. John Hamburg, who wrote all three existing films, will also write the screenplay for the new movie. It will be produced through Jane Rosenthal and De Niro's Tribeca Productions and through Jay Roach's Delirious Media. Roach directed the first three films. Stiller will also produce with John Lester via Red Hour Films and Hamburg will produce through Particular Pictures. The project will be overseen by Jacqueline Garell and Matt Reilly.

In Touch, Life & Style, Closer and First for Women Magazines to Shutter, Lay Off Entire Staffs
Four publications have reached the end of the road: In Touch, Life & Style, Closer and First for Women. McClatchy Media Company, which owns and operates the magazines, informed staff on Friday that all four will be sunsetting in the coming weeks when final issues are published by the end of June, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. More from The Hollywood Reporter Sean "Diddy" Combs' Lawyers Question Assistant's Dedication Amid Abuse Allegations Watch 'Off Script With The Hollywood Reporter' Featuring Top Drama Actresses Friday on IFC and AMC+ "Wait, I'm Slapping a Teenager Who's Getting An Abortion?": How the Cast of 'Adults' Pulled Off Their Boundary-Pushing Comedy 'Despite the best efforts of many of our talented colleagues, we have been unable to develop a profitable business model for four of our magazine titles. First for Women, In Touch, Life & Style and Closer will publish their final editions between June 20 and 27,' McClatchy spokesperson Julie Pendley said in a statement to THR. 'We are grateful for the meaningful contributions of the affected employees and are providing support during the transition.' It's unclear how many employees are impacted by the layoffs. THR has reached out for additional comment on the number of staffers affected. The news marks yet another blow to the media and magazine business, which has suffered widespread layoffs and cutbacks in recent years due to declining readership, algorithmic changes, a rise in AI and leaning toward social platforms like TikTok. Just this week, Business Insider confirmed it was cutting its staff by 21 percent in layoffs that would impact every department. The McClatchy shutterings also mark the end of an era for the celebrity tabloid business with the loss of three high-profile titles in the space. Though McClatchy is best known as a newspaper publisher with such newsroom operations as The Kansas City Star, Miami Herald, The Sacramento Bee, Fort Worth Star-Telegram, The Charlotte Observer and more, it expanded its reach into lifestyle and entertainment categories when it merged with accelerate360, a distribution, logistics and media company. It acquired Us Weekly in the merger, and according to a source, that title was 'always the star' above In Touch, Life & Style and Closer, the latter of which covered the older generation of stars while the former two are much more traditional glossy celebrity tabloids. 'It's very expensive to do print these days,' added a source of the closures. 'The numbers are continuously down though there still is value in these brand names so it's still possible that someone could purchase them and keep them alive.' Despite the pullback in print, the magazines boasted online readership and considerable social media followings. On Instagram alone, both Life & Style and In Touch counted north of half a million followers in addition to robust websites. According to an editor letter published by editor-in-chief Liz Vaccariello, First for Women was founded in 1989 and publishes every two weeks. The current focus was on delivering 'guidance and encouragement on everything from beauty and fashion to health, psychology, diet and nutrition. Plus, all things food, family and home,' per Vaccariello. While Hollywood's talent publicists may not be shedding tears today, those who made a living in the celebrity weekly space at one of the publications are having a tough time. 'Just another black Friday in the tabloid business,' said a source with a sigh. No. 15 overall seed UCLA eases past Fresno State 19-4 behind a season-high 22 hits
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Roman Martin had a season-high four hits, including a solo home run, and Mulivai Levu added three hits and five RBIs to help No. 15 overall seed UCLA rout Fresno State 19-4 in the Los Angeles Regional on Friday. UCLA (43-16), back in the NCAA Tournament for the first time in three years, will play Saturday against the winner between Arizona State and UC Irvine. Fresno State (31-28) will meet the loser in an elimination game. UCLA had a season-high 22 hits, topping its previous 19 against Purdue on March 30. Five different Bruins had at least three hits. Martin started UCLA's four-run first inning with an RBI single and Blake Balsz capped it with run-scoring bloop single. Martin finished with four hits and three RBIs and Balsz added three hits and two RBIs. UCLA starter Michael Barnett needed just eight pitches to set the Bulldogs down in order in the second. Barnett stranded a pair of runners in the fourth to get out of a jam. He allowed two earned runs and six hits over 4 1/3 innings. Chris Grothues (2-1) came on with runners at the corners and one out in the fifth and got Bobby Blandford to hit into a 3-6-1 double play. Grothues threw just 10 pitches — eight strikes — over 1 2/3 no-hit innings. Martin's eighth home run of the season made it 5-1 in the third. Balsz ripped an RBI single through the right side for a five-run lead. The Bruins sealed it with six runs in the seventh for a 10-run lead. Levu cleared the bases with a shot off the wall in left field. Payton Brennan hit his sixth home run of the season in a seven-run eighth. ___ AP college sports:
