Yahoo09-06-2025
Just days after getting a Season 2 premiere date, Maxton Hall: The World Between Us has been awarded extra credit — in the form of a very early Season 3 pick-up.
The renewal news (shared by series leads Harriet Herbig-Matten and Damian Hardung in the video below) comes nearly five months ahead of Season 2's aforementioned release date, set for Friday, Nov. 7.

Based on Mona Kasten's bestseller Save Me, Maxton Hall Season 1 followed Ruby Bell (played by Herbig-Matten) as she unwittingly witnessed an explosive secret at the titular private school, and arrogant millionaire heir James Beaufort (Hardung) had to deal with the quick-witted scholarship student for better… or worse. Though James was determined to silence Ruby, their passionate exchanges of words eventually ignited a certain spark.
In Season 2, 'After their passionate night together in Oxford and with her greatest life goal within reach, everything seems to be going perfectly for Ruby,' reads the official synopsis. 'But a stroke of fate in James' family changes everything and James himself, of all people, brings her back from cloud nine to a harsh reality.
'Ruby is devastated. She has never had such strong feelings for anyone as she does for James — and never before has anyone hurt her so deeply,' the overview continues. 'She wants her old life back, where no one at Maxton Hall knew her yet and she wasn't part of the elitist world of her classmates. But she can't forget James — especially since he's doing everything, he can to win her back.'

Sling TV is offering an entirely new pricing model — what you need to know about Day Pass

Sling TV is doing something pretty revolutionary in the streaming space, and I hope more streaming companies follow suit now that a major one has broken the seal. Instead of signing up for a month for a cable TV replacement, you can join Sling TV with a day pass, a weekend pass or a full-week pass. If there's only one thing you want to watch and you don't have access to it through other means, you can simply purchase a day pass and watch it, then move on with your life. It's so simple, it boggles my mind that more streamers aren't doing it. There are so many ways this could be useful with a live TV streaming service like Sling TV. Let's say you want to watch your favorite football team play on Sunday, but you only need to see one particular games for now — just grab a day pass. "This launch is about putting control back in the hands of the fans, whether it's tuning in for college football, professional sports, award shows, or a spontaneous movie night, all without having to sign a long-term, binding contract," said Seth Van Sickel, senior vice president, product and operations, Sling TV. The prices seem reasonable for a full day of streaming live TV with Sling's Orange plan. Here's how much Sling is looking to get for each of its new pass offerings: To put the prices in perspective, here's how much Sling TV charges for its Orange streaming package monthly: Again, it's important to note that these passes are only offered with Sling's Orange plan, which primarily focuses on sports and family content. For now, there's no option to sign up for a Sling Blue or Sling Orange & Blue plan with passes (that's where the Extras come in, if you want to watch a specific channel). Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. Just imagine how awesome it would be if Netflix, Prime Video and other services offered something similar. When a bingeable show like Wednesday season 2 drops on Netflix, you can pay for a day, weekend or week and blast through the show. I don't watch a lot of TV or movies outside of golf, but I do like Wednesday and Cobra Kai. Does it really make sense for me to pay for Netflix monthly when I only want to binge those few shows when they drop (and watch Happy Gilmore 2)? Not at all, so I end up signing up for a month and then canceling when I watch the shows. It's a pain, and I'd much rather pay a couple of dollars extra in the short term if it prevents me from forgetting to cancel and paying more in the long run. We'll see if other streaming services start offering something like this (imagine the new WWE deal on ESPN, where you can get a day pass to watch the premium live event without being locked in). Obviously, streaming services want you to forget to cancel so they can continue to receive your money for the long haul, but it's not in the best interest of consumers. So will more start offering short passes? Only time will tell, but I'm hopeful.

‘KPop Demon Hunters' Will Return to Theaters for a Sing-Along Special

If you've been wanting to see KPop Demon Hunters on the big screen, then good news—especially if you can't stop singing Huntr/X's best hits to yourself. THR reports that Netflix will return the smash hit animated movie to theaters later this month for a limited time. Tickets for Netflix's hit film are being sold for screenings currently slated for Saturday, August 23, and Sunday, August 24. These showings will be sing-along events, meaning lyrics for the movie's songs will pop up on screen for viewers to read and belt out along with the characters. Wicked Part One had similar showings last year, and it's not uncommon for hit musicals to go this route. KPop Demon Hunters has actually graced the big screen already, but not in the sing-along format. It was in theaters for a week in LA, New York, and San Francisco when it first came out to be Oscar eligible, and Netflix later submitted its mid-movie song 'Golden' for the Best Original Song category. Next week, it'll be in the first wave of digital screeners to Oscars members as part of its For Your Consideration campaign. Depending on how popular these new KPop sing-along screenings get—and considering the soundtrack's record-breaking success right now, it's not hard to imagine that they will be—it wouldn't be surprising if Netflix extends the run for more dates. Even if it doesn't, it's another win for the film, which Netflix is already looking at as their new golden franchise, and they want to expand it with sequels, stage plays, or whatever else would make some money. Jenna Ortega Embraces Gothic Edge in Simone Rocha for ‘Wednesday' Season Two Press Tour in Seoul

Jenna Ortega added a touch of edge and abstraction to her Goth styling streak in Simone Rocha for a 'Wednesday' Season Two press conference in Seoul on Monday. For the occasion, Ortega's stylist, Enrique Melendez, chose a piece from the spring 2025 ready-to-wear collection that Rocha designed in collaboration with Irish artist Genieve Figgis. The green bodysuit top of Ortega's look featured a painting of a ghoulish figure bearing their teeth in shades of green. Melendez paired the bodysuit with a black skirt featuring a tiered design and contrasting fabric, heightening the Gothic and dark glamour inspiration behind the look. A low-rise belted element with a padlock and key was among the details featured in the overall sartorial statement. Ortega's look featured minimal jewelry pieces, opting for delicate rings and a choker necklace. The look was complete with sheer black tights and patent leather mary janes. The actress' hair was styled with Y2K punk inspiration courtesy of Cesar Deleon Ramirez. Ortega's makeup was done by Mélanie Inglessis. Rocha described her spring 2025 ready-to-wear collection, which debuted as part of London Fashion Week in September 2024, as 'a bit more intimate, interesting, and playful.' Figgis' painting, titled 'Lady with a Bird,' featured on the bodysuit as the fifth look in the collection. 'It was a pivotal collection for Rocha, who deflated her signature billowing silhouettes, swapping them for soft, sometimes shiny layers of fabric and knits in a palette that ranged from muted pink to blood red and black — just like those strange, rare swans,' Hikmat Mohammed wrote in WWD's review of the collection. Figgis' fashion collaborations extend beyond her partnership with compatriot Rocha. The artist's work, which saw a meteoric rise thanks to social media in the 2010s, previously inspired Marc Jacobs' spring 2019 collection. 'It's like anything can happen in the world and it's truly about you believing that it can happen, and I was totally open to that,' Figgis said at a dinner in her honor back in 2017. 'Wednesday' follows Wednesday Addams (Ortega) upon her return to Nevermore and her quest to unravel a haunting mystery. Part One of 'Wednesday' Season Two is currently streaming on Netflix. Part Two of the season debuts on Sept. 3.
