Episode 14 of Hunter with a Scalpel begins with the press conference. Se-hyun describes how, from the age of five to ten, she was forced to assist her father in his murders. She lists all the cases and even describes Se-eun, who she wants to save. Yoon Jo-kyun watches the press conference and then looks at Se-eun suspiciously.
At the hospital, the detectives share a warm reunion with Jung-hyun. They discuss how Se-hyun's confession isn't concrete proof and she could still be an accomplice to Jo-kyun. But Jung-hyun seems to believe her. Meanwhile, Se-eun considers the watch that Se-hyun gave her and tries to charge it.
Se-hyun then visits Jung-hyun. Jung-hyun has her notebook and Se-hyun describes her happy days with Eun-seo. She explains how they ran away and mentions that Eun-seo died, although she's vague on the details. She then collapsed and was found by mountain climbers, who sent her to the orphanage. Jung-hyun then asks her to not finish things alone but to let him help her.
Jo-kyun then enters the hospital and puts on a doctor's coat to disguise himself. As Se-hyun is leaving Jung-hyun's room, Jo-kyun pulls her aside. He gives her one last chance to run away with him. If not, he will kill Se-eun as well as Se-hyun's mother. Se-hyun is about to take his hand when a guard suddenly shows up and Jo-kyun leaves. However, a reporter recognises him and decides to follow him.
At the police station, Jin-woo tells the others that Se-hyun has passed a lie detector test and also has an alibi for the first two murders. The detectives then discuss Jo-kyun's route and that he is probably going to escape via ship at Yeongpo.
Meanwhile, the reporter follows Jo-kyun but eventually loses sight of him. He then sees Se-eun returning from a grocery store and follows her all the way to their hideout. Unfortunately, Jo-kyun takes him by surprise and kills him.
A flashback shows Eun-seo and Se-eun running in the forest when Se-eun suddenly stops. Jo-kyun catches up to them and pushes Eun-seo, who falls and hits her head on a rock.
The Episode Review
Hunter with a Scalpel Episode 14 continues the chase to catch Yoon Jo-kyun and offers a lot of shifting in the process. Se-hyun gets a chance to tell Jung-hyun the honest truth and the other detectives are finally on the right track, working to catch Jo-kyun. Se-hyun's plan to lure Jo-kyun is a good one but when he does turn up, she doesn't alert the detectives. So, what was the point of the press conference? It's confusing and doesn't make sense, considering what a big deal this entire plan was in the previous episode.
The rest of the episode fares a lot better. Flashbacks give us more insight into the past and what happened to Eun-seo and Se-eun. We also see more of what's happening at Jo-kyun and Se-eun's end, which offers more thrills and tension than the police side of things. With only two episode to go though, the series will need to start wrapping things up soon.

From Amazon to Walmart, global e-commerce firms face regulatory scrutiny in India
July 23 (Reuters) - Foreign companies operating in India's booming e-commerce sector face many regulatory and legal challenges from authorities investigating them for alleged non-compliance with Indian laws, moves largely aimed at protecting local businesses. Below are some of the ongoing regulatory cases, which include global giants Amazon (AMZN.O), opens new tab and Walmart (WMT.N), opens new tab: ** Walmart's Indian fashion arm Myntra is being investigated for allegedly breaching rules that ban foreign-funded wholesale retailers from selling directly to consumers, India's federal crime fighting agency revealed on July 23, 2025. ** An Indian antitrust investigation in 2024 found Amazon and Flipkart, violated local competition laws by giving preference to select sellers on their shopping websites. The companies deny any wrongdoing. ** Samsung, Xiaomi and other smartphone companies also colluded with Amazon and Flipkart to exclusively launch products on their Indian websites in breach of antitrust laws, the investigation found last year. ** India's financial crime agency has been investigating Amazon and Flipkart separately for alleged breaches of investment rules. UK facing ‘very significant' volume of cyber attacks, security minister warns
Dan Jarvis said new measures send a signal to cyber criminals that ransom demands will not be tolerated. Proposals from the Home Office would ban public sector bodies and operators of critical national infrastructure from paying hackers. It would also mean private sector companies not covered by the ban would be required to notify the Government if they intended to pay a ransom. 'The UK is not alone in this regard, along with our international allies, we are subjected to a very significant number of cyber attacks every year,' Mr Jarvis told the PA news agency. 'But from a UK Government perspective we are crystal clear that these attacks are completely unacceptable. 'There's more that we need to do to guard against them and that's why we're introducing these measures.' Mr Jarvis said the measures mean cyber criminals will be 'less incentivised' to target UK institutions because of the clarity the ban on ransom payments brings. 'We think these proposals will provide a powerful deterrent, and what we're wanting to do is break the business model of the cyber criminals who think that they can get away with extorting money from UK-based institutions,' he told PA. He stressed the Government would ensure 'cyber criminals, whether they're in Russia or wherever they might be, face the full weight of the UK law'. Ransomware refers to software used by cyber criminals to access the computer systems of its victims, which can then be encrypted or data stolen until a ransom is paid. It comes after four young people were arrested for their suspected involvement in damaging cyber attacks against Marks & Spencer, the Co-op and Harrods in recent months. Microsoft also said on Tuesday night that Chinese hackers had breached its SharePoint document software servers in a bid to target major corporations and government agencies. Furthermore, under the proposals, a mandatory reporting regime would mean companies and institutions that are targeted by ransomware attacks are required to report it. Mr Jarvis said the Government was going to 'look very carefully at the precise details' of the regime but that it would provide more clarity and intelligence to government agencies. M&S chairman Archie Norman told MPs earlier this month that UK businesses should be legally required to report major cyber attacks as he claimed two recent hacks involving 'large British companies' had gone unreported. Mr Norman said the retailer believed an Asia-based ransomware operation, DragonForce, had been involved in the attack – but refused to say whether or not a ransom was paid.
