ITV The Chase fans all say same thing as show 'ruined' by 'team's decision'
The Chase enthusiasts were unified in their reactions following a nail-biting instalment of the popular ITV quiz show. The episode featured hopeful quizzers David, Tom, Samantha, and Danae making up the team challenging one of Britain's sharpest minds.
David stepped up first to showcase his general knowledge prowess, racking up an impressive £7,000 during the Cash Builder round before a high-stakes clash with The Chaser, Mark Labbett, affectionately known as The Beast.
Though tempted by a huge £70,000 higher offer, he opted to play for his earned cash, aiming for a place in the final showdown.

Regrettably, David saw his game cut short when The Beast caught up with him, leaving host Bradley Walsh to deliver the grim news: "You have been caught and for you The Chase is over."
Samantha followed, hoping to lay down a stronger foundation for the team's prize pot. Viewers were flabbergasted when she accepted a lowly £1,000 from The Beast's offer lineup, reports the Liverpool Echo.
Successfully beating The Beast back to her team, Tom seemed to draw inspiration from Samantha's cautious approach, also accepting a modest £1,000 which took the burgeoning prize fund to a mere £2,000.
Despite their successful bouts, the conservative gameplay led to fans expressing their dismay online. Flocking to X, a fan lamented: "Why do these people bother applying to go on the show? ?" while another voiced frustration: "What a waste of time."
The Chase viewers were left fuming after contestants repeatedly took low offers, with one fan writing on social media: "Seriously? Low again? Remember when low offers were a rarity?" Another viewer chimed in: "Beat The Chasers is so much a better show than #thechase. The low offer takers have totally ruined this show."
When contestants Tom and Samantha secured their spots in the final chase, host Bradley Walsh commented: "You could've gone for it but we'll never know."
He then welcomed Danae, the final contestant of the episode.
Bradley was hopeful that Danae would take a risk and go for the high offer, but she disappointed viewers by rejecting The Chaser's whopping offer of £188,000 to play it safe with £2,000. While Bradley expressed surprise at her decision, The Beast deemed it "absolutely understandable."
Despite her controversial choice, Danae sailed through her head-to-head against The Beast, boosting the shared prize pot to £4,000.
Upon realising the team could've been playing for a quarter of a million pounds if they had all taken The Chaser's higher offers, Bradley remarked: "What is going on on The Chase recently? Very very high figures and money."
He then joked: "I'm gonna have a go at this."
Fans took to social media to express their disappointment, with one dubbing the episode as the "Worst game of #TheChase ever witnessed."
Another agreed: "£4,000 shared among 3 if they win. That's why The Chase is not worth watching anymore."
In the final chase, contestants Tom, Danae and Samantha managed to rack up a commendable score of 20. However, it wasn't enough to secure victory against The Beast, resulting in the participants leaving the show without any winnings.

Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info Good Morning Britain had the pleasure of welcoming Josie Gibson on Thursday (7 August), where she joined hosts Ranvir Singh and Ed Balls to discuss her latest television endeavour. Josie, who is a familiar face from ITV's This Morning, has been immersed in filming her new show, Josie Gibson's Big Country Build, which follows her journey as she turns her Somerset abode into an eco-friendly sanctuary with assistance from her nearest and dearest. GMB aired a promotional clip for the upcoming seven-part series, revealing Josie's candid experiences of embarking on such an ambitious renovation project, including how it has drained her finances. In conversation with the hosts, Josie opened up about the hurdles of working alongside family and friends during the transformation process. Ranvir initiated the discussion by remarking, "You know what, you used to live in a caravan before all of this, and now, just a few years later, you've bought this enormous house. You're a great British success story, Josie!" To which Josie humorously responded, "Well, I'm moving back into a caravan, I don't know about that!" She elaborated on her lifelong aspiration to create an eco-conscious home that's "as off-grid as possible". The beloved television personality is collaborating with her brothers, Josh and Charlie, who deal in scrap metal, her cousin Tom, a professional builder, and a crew of local talent to bring her vision to life in Somerset. Josie confessed on GMB that this venture brought considerable difficulties. Speaking to Ed and Ranvir, she revealed, "I've actually roped the family in. They say never to work with family or animals, and I've done just that. To say my stress levels are up here.. "They are great, they are amazing, but there are a lot of challenges, let's say.", reports the Mirror. Nevertheless, the This Morning presenter seemed to harbour no second thoughts about embarking on such an ambitious undertaking, despite the "massive obstacles" she's encountered along the way. "I've had a lot of sleepless nights," the mother-of-one Josie confessed. "Sometimes, you get this great big dream and you follow your dreams, but you don't realise, with those dreams, there could be quite a lot of hurdles." Josie's upcoming ITV programme, created by MGM Alternative, is scheduled to broadcast in 2026. ITV has not yet announced a definitive launch date. The fresh television venture comes after her four-part Channel 5 travel programme, Around the World in First Class, which debuted earlier this year. The show saw the presenter journeying to destinations including Hong Kong.

BBC Breakfast's Charlie Stayt 'under review after string of complaints'
BBC Breakfast host Charlie Stayt is said to be 'under review' at the broadcaster after a number of complaints were reportedly made against him by other staff members. The report comes amid a string of claims that there are ongoing issues behind the scenes at the BBC's flagship morning programme. An HR adviser from consultancy firm PwC was earlier this year reported to be supporting the Beeb as it reviews the culture of the BBC One morning show. This came as the programme was hit with bullying allegations against both Stayt's co-host Naga Munchetty, 50, and editor of BBC Breakfast, Richard Frediani. It was confirmed that Frediani would be taking a period of extended leave from the programme, which he has headed up from Salford since 2019, amid the bullying allegations. A month later, it was then reported that Frediani had returned to the show following an external consultation. The Sun then claimed that Munchetty, who has presented the BBC programme since 2014, had faced her own bullying allegations and that she had been spoken to by BBC bosses over two incidents in three years. Stayt, 63, is now reportedly also 'under review' alongside Munchetty and it has been claimed the co-hosts will now face a formal investigation at the Beeb. A source told The Sun: 'A number of people have come forward to share their experiences with Charlie, so the BBC has officially moved to place the complaints under review.' Members of the BBC crew are said to have reported 'rudeness' and 'bullying', alongside other behaviour which 'undermines staff', the tabloid claimed. Stayt and Munchetty will reportedly be separately assessed. In a statement to Metro, a BBC spokesperson said: 'While we do not comment on individual cases, we take all complaints about conduct at work extremely seriously and will not tolerate behaviour that is not in line with our values. 'We have robust processes in place and would encourage any staff with concerns to raise them directly with us so they can be addressed.' More Trending It comes after a report that Munchetty had been in talks to leave the BBC in favour of rival radio station LBC, with a source telling The Sun 'there's only so much external noise anyone is prepared to take'. There have been no official announcements on whether Munchetty would be leaving the broadcaster and her representatives did not respond to requests for comment at the time. Metro contacted Charlie Stayt's representatives for comment on this story. View More » BBC Breakfast airs weekdays on BBC One from 6am. Got a story?
