UP-Nepal border on high alert as forces track over 3 dozen B'deshi, Pak nationals

Lucknow: Security forces in Uttar Pradesh have stepped up vigilance along the state's border with Nepal following a fresh intelligence alert about potential infiltration attempts by Bangladeshi and Pakistani nationals.
Authorities are specifically tracking a group of 33-37 individuals from these countries who are believed to be in Nepal and may attempt to enter India.
According to top security sources, the suspects may be targeting sensitive religious and cultural hubs in Uttar Pradesh, including Lucknow, Varanasi, Ayodhya and Mathura. In response to the looming threat, the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) has intensified border security operations along the Bahraich-Balrampur stretch, which borders Nepal.
As part of heightened security measures, 1,500 additional SSB personnel were deployed to fortify the porous Indo-Nepal border.
CCTV surveillance and ID checks have been made mandatory at all entry-exit points. Temporary border outposts have also been set up to monitor any suspicious movement.
The 42nd Battalion of the SSB has launched dual-patrolling operations, where troops are conducting simultaneous front-facing patrols to prevent infiltration.

Special checkpoints have been erected even in remote forested areas. "We have stepped up patrols and increased vigilance with CCTV surveillance at multiple border points. Checkpoints have been fortified, and troop presence has been doubled in sensitive forest zones," said Sujit Kumar, in-charge, Koilabas Border Post.
Balrampur ASP Yogesh Kumar confirmed that police and SSB teams are maintaining 24/7 joint surveillance along the border.
Village security committees have also been activated to alert authorities of suspicious movements. Govind Kumar, SHO of Jarwa Police Station, added that Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) units are assisting in joint patrols. At Gurung Naka border post, SHO H Somen Singh said that movement through that route has been suspended as a precautionary measure.
In a proactive response to infiltration threats, vigilance checks have been launched across all Uttar Pradesh districts bordering Nepal. These include Maharajganj, Siddharthnagar, Shravasti, Bahraich, Balrampur, Lakhimpur Kheri and Pilibhit. Police forces have ramped up on-ground inspections, identity verification drives, and night patrolling. All entry and exit points are now under strict surveillance.

Promised plot in Wave City project, 5 kill man, dump body in canal; held in Noida
Noida: Five people, suspected of murdering a man and dumping his body in a canal in Bulandshahr earlier this month, have been arrested. While two accused were arrested in an encounter, the others were held in a combing operation. The accused were involved in the murder of Naresh Prajapati, a resident of Roza Jalalpur village, who was found in the canal near Narsena village. A case was filed following a complaint lodged by his brother Omprakash under Section 103 (murder) of BNS at Bisrakh police station. Those arrested on Thursday have been identified as Neeraj (32) of Kavi village, Hapur; Sunil Kumar (50) of Dujana village, Bulandshahr; Saurabh Kumar (25) of Bharna village, Bulandshahr; Praveen Sharma (36) of Roza Jalalpur village, Bisrakh; and Praveen Mavi (31) of Narsena village, Bulandshahr. Neeraj and Sunil were held in the encounter. DCP (Central Noida) Shakti Mohan Avasthy said Bisrakh police were conducting checks near SKS World School Chipyana Buzurg when they signalled a car to stop, but the driver tried to flee. The police chased the car, which lost control and hit a divider. The suspects then began firing at the police, who retaliated. In the gunfight that ensued, two of the suspects were injured.
