It also warned that the violators will be prosecuted as per the provisions of law, including the Petroleum and Explosives Acts.
The Government asked the petrol bunks to display the message prominently in both Odia and English.
Issuing a directive to this effect, Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare secretary Sanjay Kumar Singh, told collectors that unfair practice of selling and transporting petroleum products, both Motor Spirit and High-Speed Diesel (MS and HSD) in unapproved containers, poses serious threats to public safety and the environment.
Notably, these highly inflammable substances, petrol and diesel in particular, are being widely sold and transported in plastic bottles and unapproved containers in different parts of the state, which is a violation of the statutory provisions of multiple acts.
"The government, under the Petroleum Act, 1934, Petroleum Rules, 2002, Explosives Act, 1884, Motor Spirit and High-Speed Diesel (Regulation of Supply, Distribution and Prevention of Malpractices) Order, 2005, Environment (Protection) Act, 1986, and other allied legal frameworks, has decided to carry out strict enforcement against such practices in all districts", Singh said.

According to American officials here, the Libyan Government had agreed to accept the guerillas. Meanwhile, the five Japanese radicals who were released from Japanese prisons and flown to Kuala Lumpur as demanded by the terrorists, were waiting in an airport building to board the plane for the flight. After exhausting negotiations, the gunmen agreed this morning to leave the American International Assurance building which houses the U.S. and other embassies in downtown Kuala Lumpur and join their five comrades at the airport. Masked, wearing gloves and carrying automatic revolvers and hand grenades, they marched their 15 hostages along with them and made the 22 km drive to the airport in a large bus.

Tripura trucker dies after being trapped inside driver's cabin for over 5 hours after accident
A trucker died after allegedly being trapped inside his vehicle for over five hours following an accident on the national highway at Teliamura in Tripura's Khowai district on Tuesday. The Government has started an inquiry and taken action against the subdivisional magistrate and the district collector in connection with the incident. According to witnesses, the front portion of a cement-laden truck that was travelling from Dharmanagar to Agartala collapsed on its driver, Mihir Lal Debnath, who was also the vehicle's owner, in the accident. Debnath cried for help, but a rescue team arrived at the spot hours later, and their iron-cutting machine allegedly failed to operate, further delaying rescue operations. When the officials and others finally pulled him out of the truck's cabin and sent him to a local hospital, the doctors there declared him dead. On Wednesday evening, Chief Minister Manik Saha, who also holds the home portfolio, announced on social media that the Government had suspended the Teliamura subdivisional magistrate with immediate effect and issued a showcause notice to the Khowai district magistrate and collector. A three-member committee headed by the secretary (relief rehabilitation and disaster management) of the revenue department is investigating the tragic incident, he added. Earlier, he wrote on Facebook on Tuesday, 'A probe has been initiated in connection with the unfortunate incident at Teliamura, where a driver tragically lost his life following a mishap. The concerned authorities have been directed to submit a detailed report at the earliest. Appropriate action will be taken if any negligence is found on the part of any individual or authority.' The Government also announced financial assistance of Rs 6 lakh–Rs 4 lakh from the disaster management fund and Rs 2 lakh from the Chief Ministers' Relief Fund–for Mihir Lal Debnath's family. '….We remain firmly committed to justice and to upholding the people's faith in our government,' the chief minister said. Social Welfare and Social Education Minister Tinku Roy and Industry and Commerce Minister Santana Chakma are expected to visit Debnath's home, according to officials.

Forces intensify ops, key arrests made
Imphal: Security forces in Manipur have intensified their crackdown on underground activities and criminal networks targeting insurgents, arms smugglers and vehicle lifters across the state and arrested insurgents and criminals in Imphal West and East in the past two days. On Aug 5, an active cadre of the banned outfit Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL), identified as Sagolsem Hemanta Singh (41) of Phumlou Keiroi Maning Leikai in Imphal West district, was arrested from his residence. According to officials, Singh was involved in recruiting cadres for the proscribed group. A mobile phone was seized from him. On the same day, security personnel apprehended Naobi Leishangthem (33), also known as Youhenba, a member of the Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP - Military & Foreign Liaison), from a rented house in Lamphel Yaipha Leikai in Imphal West. He was reportedly engaged in extortion and illegal settlements of criminal cases. In a separate operation on Aug 4, two suspected arms smugglers were nabbed from different parts of Imphal East. Ningombam Abung Meitei (50) of Huidrom Awang Leikai was arrested from Pourabi Hidumbi, while Ningthoujam Konungjao Meetei (33) of Keibi Khulen Makha Leikai was picked up from his residence.
