Offending Ford and Ferrari Fans Simultaneously: Corruptt Mustang

At the SEMA Show in Las Vegas back in 2018, a build was able to simultaneously offend both Ford and Ferrari fans. Called Corruptt Mustang, it took a 1968 Mustang and put under the hood a 4.3-liter V8 from a Ferrari and Nelson Racing twin turbos. Considering the bad blood between the two brands, not to mention their fans' well-known thirst for pure builds, the car caused quite the stir.Built by Tony Arme of American Legends, this little pony really gets people talking, or makes them super disgusted. When we saw this build in person, we saw both reactions in real time and it was really something.
Don't worry, the engine wasn't mercilessly yanked from a functional Ferrari. The donor F430 had been in a bad wreck, leaving significant front end and roof damage, but the powertrain was untouched.
That means the 4.3-liter 90-degree V8 needed to be rescued anyway. Most would think to drop it into another Ferrari, but Arme decided to go for something unusual and controversial instead. We think he nailed it.
While the engine is the centerpiece of this build, once you get over that initial shock you'll notice the body and interior are far from stock. The roof has been chopped about 2.5 inches, the windshield is laid back, all the glass is flush, the bespoke acrylic bumpers are molded in, and the side exhaust is completely custom.
There's also a RideTech air ride suspension to adjust the ride height. The car rolls on Avant Garde F461 wheels with Toyo tires, helping to ensure optimal handling.
In addition, the floor pans are made of carbon fiber, while the majority of the interior was donated by a Lamborghini.
With the twin-turbo setup, this build is pushing somewhere around 700-horsepower, plenty to get the pony dashing in a hurry. The Tremec T56 six-speed with a manual shifter adds to the fun
While an LS swap into a Mustang is enough to rankle the Blue Oval crowd, the Corruptt Mustang really irks both Ford and Ferrari fans in a way nothing else will.

1 Million Fords Recalled for Backup Camera Blackouts

Those expressing skepticism at modern cars' continued reliance on screens ought to feel validated over this piece of news. Earlier this month, Ford recalled a whopping 1,075,299 cars over a software error that could cause the image from the backup camera to delay, freeze, or not display anything altogether when a driver puts their Ford product in reverse. A more specific description of the defect states the cars' center infotainment screen can freeze and be followed by a black screen and a system reboot. If this happens while the driver is using the backup camera, it'll limit visibility and increase the risk of a crash. It doesn't seem like there's any real warning as to when or if this will happen, either. Of the one-million-plus cars involved in the recall, Ford estimates 100 percent of them are defective. The 13 afflicted models and model years are as follows: 2022–2024 Lincoln Navigator 2021–2023 Lincoln MKX 2023–2024 Lincoln Corsair 2024–2024 Ford Mustang 2023–2024 Ford Super Duty (F250, F350, F450, F550, F600) 2021–2024 Ford F-150 2024–2024 Ford Ranger 2021–2023 Ford Mach-E 2022–2025 Ford Transit 2022–2024 Ford Expedition 2023–2024 Ford Escape 2021–2024 Ford Edge 2021–2024 Ford Bronco The remedy is simple: Ford will notify owners via mail and instruct them to bring their cars to a Ford or Lincoln dealership and have them updated with the latest version of SYNC4, Ford's infotainment software. Alternatively, if your car is equipped to receive over-the-air updates, you can get the fix this way. A backup camera is an additional tool and should not take the place of physically looking over your shoulder or in your mirrors when reversing. However, as vehicles get bigger and bigger in size, their associated blindspots grow in kind, so backup cameras help keep an eye on spots we can't physically see. It's been a busy year of Ford recalls. In January, Ford recalled almost 150,000 Broncos over an issue with their rear shocks. In May, more than a quarter of a million Expeditions and Lincoln Navigators were recalled over a brake line leak. On top of all that, the recalls keep coming for our longterm Ford Maverick Hybrid, though we still maintain the truck is reliable, as none of the recall issues have manifested in our particular test unit. Backup cameras have been federally mandated on all cars built starting May 1, 2018 and onwards.

Next-Gen Shelby GT500 Looks Menacing in New Spy Shots

Since the debut of the S650 Mustang in 2023, we've been waiting for a hardcore Shelby model. Rumors of the high-performance muscle car have been circulating for years, but nothing's been made official. That'll likely change soon, judging by these spy photos of a seemingly complete Shelby GT500 mule captured driving around Michigan. Our spy photographer managed to snag some detailed photos of this camouflaged GT500 prototype stalking around on the street ahead of a reveal likely to take place later this year. The front fascia wears a thick layer of netting and tarp to conceal changes to the front end, though we can see wider openings for the upper and lower grilles, as well as some outer bulges on the hood. Photo by: KGP Photography Photo by: KGP Photography Photo by: KGP Photography The rear end is more of the same, with a makeshift blanket covering the bumper, and polka-dot camouflage on the fenders and trunk lid. The thin quad-exhaust pipes are clearly not production ready, while the wing looks to be lifted straight from the lesser Mustang GT . The wheels and tires are the most fascinating part of this tester. Look closely, and you'll see the tires measure 305/30ZR20 up front and 315/30ZR20 in the rear—coincidentally, these are the same exact sizes found on the last-generation GT500. The tires themselves are Pirelli P Zero Rs with "Prototype Use Only" text on the sidewalls. Unlike the last GT500 prototype we saw, this one isn't using carbon fiber wheels, but more traditional alloys. In all likelihood, this wheel and tire setup will likely be the base offering for the upcoming GT500, with a carbon fiber wheel and stickier tire offered as the sportier option. Photo by: KGP Photography There's no official word on what sort of engine will power the next GT500, but we have a pretty good idea of what to expect, thanks to a leaked union memo from the Dearborn engine plant in Michigan. The document, whose contents were confirmed by the Detroit Free Press through internal sources, showed plans to produce an engine nicknamed "Legend." The plant currently builds the supercharged 5.2-liter V-8 found in the Raptor R. That same motor powered the last GT500 , making 760 horsepower and 625 pound-feet of torque. So it makes sense for the factory to supply the next car's engine, too. Power is still a question mark, though we wouldn't be surprised to see the next GT500 make over 800 hp, possibly matching the track-ready Mustang GTD . Judging by how ready-for-production this prototype looks, we probably won't have to wait much longer to find out. Man identified in fatal Monday I-90 crash

SIOUX FALLS S.D. (KELO) — A Flandreau man died in a crash on Interstate 90 Monday morning. A news release from the Department of Safety said the driver of a Ford F-350 road construction vehicle was stopped on I-90 westbound in the right-hand lane directing traffic into the left lane. The Ford was equipped with a working warning sign and arrow. Minnesota Ave. sees extra 10,000 cars a day Casey Wilson, 50, the driver of a Dodge Grand Caravan, struck the back of the Ford, sending it into the median where it caught fire. The driver of the F-350 received minor injuries. Wilson's Dodge came to rest on the westbound shoulder. Wilson died of his injuries at the scene. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc.
