Machine Gun Kelly was a fan of the name 'Blade' long before he and Megan Fox welcomed their daughter, Saga Blade Fox-Baker — so much so, that he wanted it for himself!
In 2021, MGK (real name: Colson Baker) and Fox, 39, sat down for a GQ Couple's Quiz, and at one point, MGK 35, confirmed he didn't have a middle name. The Jennifer's Body star offered up what she thought it would be if he were to add one. 'Blade,' Fox answered.
'That's what I want,' he responded.
As Fox began to offer up more options, including 'Sword' and 'Katana,' MGK stopped her and said, 'No, Blade is good. Blade is what I want.'
As Star previously reported, the 'Cliché' singer, 35, took to Instagram on Tuesday, June 17, to announce their two-month-old daughter's name by sharing a video of himself playing the ukulele while their baby girl bounced in a rocker. MGK captioned the post, 'Saga Blade Fox-Baker,' later adding 'thank you for the ultimate gift' and tagging Fox's Instagram account.
In a story published by People, a source revealed the former couple's daughter's moniker holds special meaning. 'The name Saga, which means 'story' or 'tale' really felt right to them,' a source told the outlet. 'It's a new chapter — full of meaning and hope.'
During the time of the GQ interview, the couple had been together for more than a year after sparks flew while they filmed Midnight in the Switchgrass in 2020. Fox had previously been married to Brian Austin Green — who she shares Noah, 12, Bodhi, 11, and Journey, 8 — and the pair divorced in 2021. (MGK is also dad to Casie, 15, with his ex Emma Cannon.)
'I'd always felt like there was that thing missing, that I'd given up on, that you're always seeking,' Fox told GQ at the time. 'But then you meet the person that completes that for you and you're like, 'Oh, this is what my heart was searching for. That's what that beacon was this whole time.''
In their joint interview, MGK credited Fox for serving as inspiration, telling the outlet, 'It's almost like she reconnected a wire in my brain. Creativity won't stop coming out.'
In November 2024, Fox announced she and MGK were expecting their first child together — but a month later, it was reported that they quietly split.

That tray costs about $15, makes a dozen tacos, and throws in slaw, salsa, and crema, which works out to roughly $1.25 a taco. The birria kit costs north of three dollars per taco, offers fewer servings, and arrives without extras. Feed more than three hungry people, and eight tacos vanish in a blink. Carol Kaye, one of the most recorded bassists of all time, has declined the invitation to attend this year's Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony. 'People have been asking: NO I won't be there,' wrote Kaye in a Facebook post shared on Wednesday. 'I am declining the rrhof awards show (and denny tedesco process)…..turning it down because it wasn't something that reflects the work that Studio Musicians do and did in the golden era of the 1960s Recording Hits.'
