ALBAWABA - Achraf Hakimi was referred to a criminal court on charges of raping a young woman.
On Friday, August 1, 2025, the Nanterre Public Prosecutor's Office asked that Achraf Hakimi be taken to a criminal court on charges that he raped a young woman at his home in Paris in February 2023. The move was a shocking new development. A report from the public prosecutor to Agence France-Presse says that the player rejects this charge.
Hakimi's lawyer, Fanny Colin, said that the prosecutor's requests are "incomprehensible and illogical given the evidence in the case." "Achraf and I are still as calm as we were when the proceedings began," she said. If these requests go through, we will definitely use all court options to make our case heard.

AFP quoted the young woman's lawyer, Rachelle-Fleur Bardot, as saying, "My client received this news with great relief." There is no evidence in this case of an attempt to extort money. She said, "We will not tolerate any smear campaign, as is unfortunately the case all too often for women who show courage in reporting the rape they have suffered."
Now that the new season has begun, Hakimi has been on holiday and hasn't said anything about the case. A statement from Kylian Mbappé in defense of Hakimi said, "Hakimi respects women, and I have never seen him behave in an inappropriate manner." — Le Parisien (@le_Parisien) August 1, 2025
Achraf Hakimi: "Someone tried to intimidate me into paying money."
It is important to note that Achraf Hakimi was charged with rape and put under court supervision in March 2023 after a young woman said he raped her at his home in Boulogne-Billancourt (Hauts-de-Seine).
The player for Paris Saint-Germain has rejected the claim. He strongly rejected all the charges at the time, seeing what happened as a clear attempt to blackmail him. According to an interview he gave in January 2025, "The truth is that when you succeed, you become an easy target... and I was the victim of an extortion attempt."
The young woman reported a rape to the Val-de-Marne police station at the end of February 2023. However, she did not file an official complaint. Police said at the time that she met Hakimi on Instagram in January 2023 and was picked up by a private car with a driver that the player had asked for. She then proceeded to his house.
The same person also said that the complainant said Hakimi kissed her without her permission before raping her. She also said she was able to get him to leave by texting her friend and having them come pick her up in person.
Was there a plot against Hakimi?
According to L'Équipe, strange text messages were found on the phone. Nadia's friend used Emily's phone number and got messages saying things like "Come in like a femme fatale" and "We'll tie him up." These messages said that a group of women planned to charm and maybe rob the football player.
Emily texted the player right before they met and said, "He's my type." When Nadia replied, she laughed and wrote, "Oh my God, you're dirty." To get rid of the other messages, Nadia asked Emily which ones she had sent to the cops as the situation got worse.

Couple abandon child at Barcelona airport to avoid missing flight

ALBAWABA - Barcelona's El Prat Airport recently witnessed a strange incident when a couple abandoned their 10-year-old child at the airport to avoid missing their flight and losing their tickets. The incident raised eyebrows on social media, with users calling the couple out for their lack of responsibility. According to the Spanish newspaper 20 Minutes, the strange incident was first revealed by one of the Barcelona airport's employees, Lilian, who expressed her anger towards the parents who abandoned their child. The employee took to TikTok in anger with a video titled "Limazine," where she revealed all the details regarding the incident. She said, "I am an aviation coordinator, I have seen many things at work, but this crossed the line, it was completely surreal." Lilian added that the typical flight procedure went smoothly until the crew suddenly stopped the plane from taking off after the child was spotted on his own inside Barcelona's El Prat Airport. This prompted the airport workers to contact the police, who questioned the child. The 10-year-old child later told the police that his parents were on board the plane in question. He later revealed that his parents had abandoned him because his passport had expired and required a visa to enter their next destination. Lilian added to 20 Minutes that the parents attempted to justify their actions by stating that they contacted a family member to come pick up the child from the airport. The parents are currently under investigation for child neglect. By the time of reporting, the ethnicity of the couple remains unknown.
