Public advised not to panic over 21-gun salute on Warriors' Day

PUTRAJAYA: Residents in the capital are advised not to be alarmed by the sound of cannon fire this week, as the Malaysian Armed Forces will be conducting ceremonial gun salutes in conjunction with the 2025 Warriors' Day celebration parade.
According to district police chief Assistant Commissioner Aidi Sham Mohamed, the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) will execute the ceremonial gunfire during both the full dress rehearsal and the main event at Dataran Pahlawan Negara, Precinct 1, here.
Two rounds will be fired during the rehearsal on Tuesday, July 29, and 21 rounds on the event day itself, Thursday, July 31. Both sessions are scheduled to begin at 8am.
Aidi advised road users to expect congestion along Persiaran Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah, Lebuh Perdana Timur, and the surrounding routes near Complex E from 7am to 10am.
He advised the public to plan their journeys early and use alternative routes to avoid any inconvenience. The police will be on-site to manage traffic flow.
"Road users are advised to cooperate and follow instructions from the police to ensure the smooth conduct of the parade ceremony," he said in a statement.
For enquiries, the public may contact the Putrajaya police hotline at 03-8886 2222 or approach the nearest police station.
