Putrajaya police chief ACP Aidi Sham Mohamed confirmed that the Malaysian Armed Forces will conduct a 21-gun salute on the day, with a rehearsal involving two rounds scheduled for July 29. 'Residents in nearby areas should not be alarmed by the loud blasts. Heavy traffic is expected between 7am and 10am, so motorists are urged to follow police instructions for smooth traffic flow,' he said in a statement. Major roads likely to be affected include Persiaran Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah, Lebuh Perdana Timur, and surrounding routes near Kompleks E. PUTRAJAYA: Residents in the capital are advised not to be alarmed by the sound of cannon fire this week, as the Malaysian Armed Forces will be conducting ceremonial gun salutes in conjunction with the 2025 Warriors' Day celebration parade. According to district police chief Assistant Commissioner Aidi Sham Mohamed, the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) will execute the ceremonial gunfire during both the full dress rehearsal and the main event at Dataran Pahlawan Negara, Precinct 1, here. Two rounds will be fired during the rehearsal on Tuesday, July 29, and 21 rounds on the event day itself, Thursday, July 31. Both sessions are scheduled to begin at 8am. Aidi advised road users to expect congestion along Persiaran Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah, Lebuh Perdana Timur, and the surrounding routes near Complex E from 7am to 10am. He advised the public to plan their journeys early and use alternative routes to avoid any inconvenience. The police will be on-site to manage traffic flow. "Road users are advised to cooperate and follow instructions from the police to ensure the smooth conduct of the parade ceremony," he said in a statement. Putrajaya police chief Aidi Sham Mohamed said a doctor at Putrajaya Hospital had reported around 2.24pm that the child was brought to the emergency department covered in blood. Checks found that the child had already died. 'Preliminary investigations found that the child fell from the seventh floor of a public housing building in Presint 9, Putrajaya,' he said in a brief statement.
