Pranati well prepared for Women's Artistic Gymnastics Asian Championships
It will be quite a challenge for the veteran gymnast though in the Vault apparatus as the top athletes from all over the continent will be participating in the tournament including 49-year-old Oksana Chusovitina of Uzbekistan.
However, according to her coach Ashok Mishra, the two-time Asian Championships bronze medallist is well prepared and was quite impressive during the final training sessions.
"Pranati is in great shape physically and mentally and is full of confidence.
She did really well during the podium training and was able to get a lot of speed while making the runs which will no doubt help her," said Mishra, during an interaction from Jecheon.
The two vaults that she will be performing are — Tsukahara 720 Twist with fixed landing and Handspring Pike Salto with a 360-degree turn. She has been doing the first vault for a while now but the second one is something she has added to her armoury recently.

Although, she did struggle with it at times, she pulled it off perfectly on the final day ahead of the event and Mishra, who trains her at Gymnastics High-Performance Centre in Bhubaneswar, sounded quite pleased with it. Moreover, she has also been working on her leg strength over the past few months and its showing in her performance.
Besides Nayak, the other athletes who will be representing India in the senior category are Protistha Samanta, Bidisha Gayen, Sneha Tariyal and Ritu Das.
Meanwhile, Sreeparna Debnath, Sakshi Dalvi, Tora Saini and Avantika Negi will be competing in the junior section and coach Bishweshwar Nandi is hopeful of a good showing from the youngsters.
"It's their first international tournament, and it's important for them to gain as much experience as possible. We always hope they will be able to perform what they have been training for. Based on that, we start having expectations, but this sport is all about technique, and it's not possible to do something you haven't learned," said Nandi, who trained Dipa Karmakar and helped her make it to the Olympics.
Nandi though has a big task at hand now as he has been working with the juniors ahead of the event alongside coach Jimmi Anjana in Bhubaneswar. However, one of the junior members of the team — Priti Jhankar from Odisha — will sadly miss the event after she got infected with chicken pox and has been put in quarantine.

Confident of proving my mettle in Asia Cup: Rinku Singh
1 2 3 4 Fazal Khan Lucknow: After middle-order batter Rinku Singh on Tuesday managed to hold on to his place in the Indian squad for the upcoming Asia Cup , he said that his preparation is going well and he is determined to prove his mettle in the tournament. Talking to TOI while attending a practice session at sports galaxy ground, Rinku said, "This is the first time that I've got the opportunity to play in a multi-national tournament. Last year, I missed out on the T20 World Cup. If I am given the chance to play in the eleven, I will give my best." "My preparation is going well. Recently, I played a lot of practice matches ahead of the UPT20 League for my franchise, Meerut Mavericks, in Noida. I scored two fifties there which has infused a lot of confidence in me," he said. Asked about his playing position, he said, "Let me make it clear that I am not a finisher. Indian Premier League-2023 was the best phase of my career, and in that season, I batted at number 5. I scored runs for the team, and when I played for India, I also played at number 5 and scored three fifties for Team India. I have no inhibitions about batting on any position." by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 20 Highest Paying Degrees For 2025 Best Paying Degrees | Search Ads Learn More Undo Speaking about his experience with the ball, Rinku said, "Cricket has become fast-paced and selectors believe that if a player has both bowling and batting skills, it benefits the team. All-rounders are given preference in the team. I bowl quite a bit in the domestic circuit and have taken many wickets. I have also taken wickets internationally. I have been bowling for a while, though not as much, but now, I am prepared for it. " Of the 33 T20I matches Rinku has played for Team India, he did not get to bat in nine matches, and remained not out on as many as nine occasions. He has three half centuries to his credit, having made 546 runs at an average of 46 per innings at a strike rate of 161. Speaking about India's prospects in the Asia Cup, he said: "We are confident that we will win the tournament. Winning Asia Cup will be as good for me as for anyone else." On the ongoing UPT20 league, he said, "I thank 'Rajeev (Shukla) sir' and UPCA for successfully conducting the tournament for the third consecutive year. The tournament gives 10-12 prospective cricketers for IPL every year. Those who perform well in UPT20 League have better chances to be roped in by IPL franchises." Sports and news websites grabbed interest rapidly and widely. Jack stuns fans with growth in Tom Brady's golf outing Jack, who will turn 18 on August 22, 2025, appeared noticeably taller than his dad in the golf picture. The setting was casual, a golf course, captured candidly during a father-son day out. Mike Evans, the Buccaneers wide receiver, joked under the photo: 'is jack standing on something? Besides business lol,' highlighting just how much Jack's growth stands out. The sneakers from NOBULL may add some height, but Jack's growth is clearly real. Sources: Raiders considered top landing spot for Bengals star Trey Hendrickson
Report: Raiders Emerging as Frontrunners to Trade for Trey Hendrickson(Getty Images) The Trey Hendrickson trade rumors just got a whole lot louder, and Raider Nation is at the center of it. According to sources, an NFL executive didn't hold back when asked about where the Cincinnati Bengals star pass rusher might land next. His answer? The Las Vegas Raiders. With Tom Brady, Mark Davis, and GM John Spytek pushing a full-throttle win-now mentality, Hendrickson-to-Vegas is suddenly the buzz that has NFL fans losing it online. NFL executive says the Raiders are the frontrunners to land Trey Hendrickson The quote making waves came straight from Hondo Carpenter, 'I have no doubt the Raiders are the frontrunners. Tom Brady and Mark Davis want to win now, and John (Spytek) has no fear when it comes to making bold moves. The kid (Hendrickson is 30), that move is the mentality of Pete Carroll, he's not afraid of anything that could improve the team.' That's a pretty strong endorsement of where the Raiders stand in these talks. While nothing is close to being finalized, it's clear Hendrickson's name is being tied more heavily to Vegas than anywhere else right now. This whole saga started because Hendrickson, despite being one of the NFL's best edge rushers, is frustrated with his contract. He wants more guaranteed money, and the Bengals haven't exactly rushed to fix the situation. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Shaping Energy Transition at Siemens Energy Siemens Energy Read More Undo Reports suggest Cincinnati is holding firm on its price which could include a player plus a 2026 first-round pick. At 30, Hendrickson still has plenty left in the tank, and that's why teams are circling. Why the Raiders make perfect sense as a landing spot Pairing Hendrickson with Maxx Crosby? That's instant nightmare fuel for opposing quarterbacks. The Raiders already have cap space flexibility and a front office that's shown it isn't scared of bold moves. Add Tom Brady's influence in the building, plus Mark Davis' constant push for relevance, and this feels exactly like the type of blockbuster Vegas would pull off. While the Raiders have been labeled 'frontrunners,' they're not the only team with interest. The Colts, Jaguars, and Seahawks have all been linked to Hendrickson at different points in this drama. Any deal would come down to who's willing to match Cincinnati's asking price and not every team is ready to cough up first-round capital for a 30-year-old pass rusher, even one as dominant as Hendrickson.
