Traffic diversions on Telangana Formation Day
The Hyderabad Traffic Police have issued an advisory ahead of Telangana State Formation Day celebrations on June 2, urging commuters to brace for diversions and road closures around Gun Park in Nampally and Parade Grounds in Secunderabad. Movement of vehicles will be restricted at several key junctions, and delays are expected through the morning and early afternoon. As per the advisory, at Gun Park, traffic restrictions will be in place between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. Vehicles travelling from Dwaraka Hotel via Saifabad towards the Hyderabad Traffic Police junction will be diverted at Ravindra Bharathi towards Iqbal Minar Junction. Similarly, traffic from Nampally T Junction heading to Ravindra Bharathi will be diverted at the AR Petrol Pump towards BJR Statue. Commuters can expect congestion at Ravindra Bharathi, AR Petrol Pump and the Hyderabad Traffic Police Junction during this period. In Secunderabad, traffic movement will be affected around Parade Grounds between 6 a.m. and 1 p.m. Roads connecting Panjagutta, Greenlands and Begumpet to Secunderabad will face disruptions, while the stretch between Tivoli X roads and Plaza X roads will be closed. Traffic heading from Begumpet to Sangeet junction will be diverted at CTO towards Balamrai, Tivoli, Sweekar Upkar, YMCA and St. John's Rotary. Vehicles from Bowenpally, Tadbund and Tivoli, intending to reach Plaza, will be rerouted through Sweekar Upkar and YMCA. Those coming from Patny towards Trimulgherry will be diverted through YMCA and Picket. Vehicles moving from Sangeet junction to Begumpet will have to take a longer loop through YMCA, Clock Tower, Patny, Paradise and Rasoolpura. Traffic from Secunderabad Railway Station and Alugaddabai will be diverted through Clock Tower and Paradise. Additional diversions include routes from Karkhana and JBS towards SBI Patny being rerouted at Sweekar Upkar either via YMCA and Clock Tower or through Tivoli and Brooke Bond. Vehicles from Patny won't be permitted towards SBH and will be redirected towards Clock Tower or Paradise. Traffic coming from RTA Trimulgherry and Karkhana towards Plaza will be diverted at Tivoli, depending on congestion, with alternative routes through Bowenpally Market and AOC likely to be used. Heavy traffic is expected at key junctions of Chilakalguda, Alugaddabai, Sangeeth, YMCA, Patny, SBH, Plaza, CTO, Brooke Bond, Tivoli, Sweekar Upkar, Secunderabad Club, Trimulgherry, Tadbund, Centre Point, Diamond Point, Bowenpally, Rasoolpura, Begumpet and Paradise. Commuters heading to Secunderabad Railway Station or Jubilee Bus Station are advised to leave early and consider using the Metro Rail. Chithrai fest: Traffic curbs, parking zones announced
1 2 Madurai: Ahead of the Kallazhagar's entry into the Vaigai river as part of the Chithrai festival on Monday, Madurai city police have announced an elaborate traffic and parking regulation plan to ensure a smooth and safe experience for devotees. According to a police statement, the Kallazhagar's descent into the Vaigai is scheduled between 5.45am and 6.05am on Monday. In view of a massive turnout of devotees, key stretches, including the route to Ramarayar Mandapam via the AV bridge and the Yanaikkal new bridge, will be closed to all vehicular traffic in the early hours of will be strictly restricted along both the southern and northern banks of the Vaigai near Obula Padithurai. Vehicles from the southern parts will not be allowed to cross into the northern side via the AV bridge or Sellur new owners with authorised parking passes have been directed to park in designated zones. Green pass holders can access parking near the southern end of the AV bridge, while blue pass holders must park near Anna bus stand and the Periyar buses and heavy vehicles heading towards Keelavasal or Simmakkal via Alagarkoil Road and Natham Road will be diverted through Race Course Road, the Pandiyan hotel junction, and KK Nagar. Vehicles from Periyar bus stand heading to Natham Road or Melur Road must also take alternative routes via Mahal Road and the Aravind Eye Hospital can use specially earmarked parking grounds such as Gokhale Road, YMCA, ITI, and several school grounds across the city. Those viewing the river entry can park near Gandhi Museum, the Race Course ground, and the PWD parking is permitted only on one side of certain streets, including Keelamasi and Vadakku Masi.
