Congress, BRS and BJP conduct Formation Day celebrations

Telangana Formation Day celebrations were conducted enthusiastically at the headquarters of all political parties here on Monday. Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) chief and MLC Mahesh Kumar Goud hoisted the Tricolour at Gandhi Bhavan. He thanked party leader Sonia Gandhi for fulfilling the aspirations of millions of people by carving out the State of Telangana. Addressing the gathering, he listed the welfare and development initiatives undertaken by the Congress government led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy in the State. The BRS marked the State Formation Day with grand celebrations across Telangana and abroad. Party senior leaders, MLAs, MLCs and activists gathered in large numbers at the party headquarters in Telangana Bhavan, where Opposition Leader in the Council S. Madhusudhana Chari in the presence of several senior leaders hoisted the national flag, the BRS flag and paid floral tributes to Telangana Thalli statue, Professor K. Jayashankar and Telangana martyrs. BRS MLC K. Kavitha unfurled the national and Telangana Jagruthi flags at the new Jagruthi office in Banjara Hills. She paid tributes to the Telangana martyrs. Union Coal and Mines Minister and BJP State unit president G. Kishan Reddy unfurled the national flag in the state BJP headquarters. BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao attended the Telangana Formation Day and BRS silver jubilee celebrations organised on a grand scale by BRS NRI USA in Dallas in the United States. After a protracted agitation for Statehood, Telangana came into existence on June 2, 2014, following the bifurcation of undivided Andhra Pradesh.

Telangana Aims to Become $3 Trillion Economy by 2047, Says CM Revanth Reddy

Telangana celebrated its State Formation Day in Hyderabad on Monday. On this special day, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy spoke about big plans for the future of the state. He said that in the next 10 years, Telangana will grow into a $1 trillion economy. By the year 2047, it will become a $3 trillion economy. He also said that Telangana's share in India's total GDP will grow from 5% to 10% by 2047. To help reach these goals, the government has started new plans for industries, roads, and investment. The Chief Minister said the government is working hard to make Telangana the best in development and public welfare. Honoring Heroes of the Telangana Movement On this day, the government also honored people who helped in the Telangana movement. The Chief Minister gave Rs. 1 crore to each of nine people, including writers, singers, and artists. Some of the people who received the award were: Ande Sri Pasham Yadagiri Ekka Yadagiri Rao Suddala Ashok Teja The families of late artists and leaders like Gude Anjaiah, Balladeer Gaddar, and Bandi Yadagiri also received awards. Since poet Goreti Venkanna was not in Hyderabad, a Rs. 1 lakh award was given to his daughter. The government also gave the Kaloji Award to Nelimela Bhaskar for his work in literature.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan wished the people of Telangana a happy State Formation Day. They both hoped Telangana would grow and prosper. Chandrababu Naidu said even though Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are separate states, Telugu people are united. He wished happiness and progress for every family in Telangana. He encouraged both Telugu states to work hard and compete in development for a better future by 2047. He asked all Telugu people to join in this effort. Pawan Kalyan said Telangana is where the Jana Sena Party started and gave him new energy. He mentioned that a famous Telugu poet called Telangana a 'Veena with many gems.' He reminded that Telangana was formed after many years of struggle and sacrifices by students and young people. As Telangana turns 11, he wished the people to keep working towards welfare and development. He sent his best wishes to everyone on this special day.

HYDERABAD: As Telangana prepares to celebrate its State Formation Day on 2 June 2025, commuters in Secunderabad and Nampally are advised to anticipate significant traffic disruptions due to events at Gun Park, Nampally, and Parade Grounds, Secunderabad. The celebrations are expected to draw large crowds, prompting traffic diversions and road closures to ensure smooth movement and public safety. — HYDTP (@HYDTP) Event timings: Gun Park, Nampally: 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM Parade Grounds, Secunderabad: 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM Key Traffic Restrictions and Diversions: Gun Park, Nampally (9:00 AM to 10:00 AM) Vehicles coming from Dwaraka Hotel, Saifabad towards Hyderabad Traffic Police Junction will be diverted at Ravindra Bharathi towards Iqbal Minar Junction. Traffic from Nampally T Junction heading towards Ravindra Bharathi will be diverted at AR Petrol Pump towards BJR Statue. Expected congestion points: Ravindra Bharathi, AR Petrol Pump, Hyderabad Traffic Police Junction. Parade Grounds, Secunderabad (6:00 AM to 12:00 PM) Citizens are requested to avoid roads from Panjagutta to Secunderabad, including Greenlands and Begumpet, as well as roads surrounding Parade Grounds. Traffic from Patny will not be allowed towards SBH Sweekar Upkar and will be diverted towards Clock Tower, YMCA, or Paradise CTO. Vehicles from RTA Trimulgherry and Karkhana towards Plaza will be diverted at Tivoli through Sweekar Upkar, YMCA, Brook Bond, Balamrai, and CTO. If congestion occurs at Tivoli and Club, traffic will be redirected via Bowenpally Market and AOC. Expected congestion points: Chilakalguda X roads, Alugaddabai X roads, Sangeeth X roads, YMCA X roads, Patny X roads, SBH X roads, Plaza, CTO Junction, Brooke Bond Junction, Tivoli Junction, Sweekar Upkar Junction, Secunderabad Club, Trimulgherry X roads, Tadbund X roads, Centre Point, Diamond Point, Bowenpally X roads, Rasoolpura, Begumpet, and Paradise. Parking Arrangements: District buses and the general public attending the events are requested to park vehicles only at designated parking zones as per the official map. Public Advisory: Citizens planning to travel near Secunderabad Railway Station and Jubilee Bus Station are encouraged to start early and make use of the Metro Rail Service. All commuters are urged to follow the diversions and cooperate with Hyderabad Traffic Police to ensure smooth traffic flow.

President Droupadi Murmu on Monday greeted people of Telangana on their statehood day, wishing them to 'march ahead on the path of progress and prosperity'. "Warm greetings to the people of Telangana on Statehood Day! This young State has a rich cultural heritage and a vibrant modern ecosystem of economic and technological development. I wish that the people of Telangana march ahead on the path of progress and prosperity," the President said in a post on X. Telangana was carved out of Andhra Pradesh and accorded statehood on this day in 2014. Chief Minster Revanth Reddy paid floral tributes to martyrs at the Martyr Memorial in Gun Park, Hyderabad, and attended the Telangana Statehood Day event. Various traffic restrictions have been put in place between 6 am and 1 pm in view of the State Formation Day celebrations which will be held at Gun Park in Nampally and Parade Ground, a Telangana Today report said. At least 20 locations have been identified by the authorities where are likely to experience traffic congestions: Ravindra Bharathi, AR Petrol Pump, Hyderabad Traffic Police Junction, Chilakalguda X roads, Alugaddabavi X roads, Sangeeth X roads, YMCA X roads, Patny X roads, SBH X roads, Plaza, CTO junction, Brooke Bond junction, Tivoli Junction, Sweekar Upakar junction, Secunderabad Club, Trimulgherry 'X' roads, Tadbund 'X' road, Diamond Point, Bowenpally 'X' road, Rasoolpura, Begumpet and Paradise, the report added. The state government on Sunday announced that 486 policemen and other uniformed service personnel would be awarded Police Seva Medals in recognition of their distinguished service, a TOI report said. In an order, special chief secretary Ravi Gupta said that nine policemen from Greyhounds, an anti-Naxal commando force, had been awarded the Shourya Pathakamu. Telangana Formation Day celebrations were held on Monday at Telangana Legislative Assembly in Hyderabad. Telangana Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar unfurled the national flag at the Assembly, news agency ANI said. BJP MLA Paidi Rakesh Reddy, Congress MLA G. Vivek Venkatswamy, Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukender Reddy, MLC Vijay Shanti and others participated in the celebration. The visuals showed Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar and Chairman Gutha Sukender offering flowers and paying respect at the statues of Mahatma Gandhi and Dr BR Ambedkar. (With inputs from agencies)
