PJTSAU's seed distribution prog begins
Hyderabad: On the occasion of the 12th State Formation Day, Professor Jayashankar Telangana Agricultural University (PJTAU) has launched the 'Quality Seeds to Every Village' programme across the state.
The programme was launched on Monday in the presence of Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao, who distributed quality seed kits to 10 selected farmers in the Bhadradri Kothagudem district during the State Formation Day celebrations.
Similarly, in Ranga Reddy district, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Aldas Janaiah, along with Chief Minister's Advisor Vem Narender Reddy, MLA Malreddy Rangareddy, and District Collector Narayana Reddy distributed quality seed kits to 10 progressive farmers during the State Formation Day celebrations.
In various districts across the state, ministers, public representatives, Government whips, corporation chairmen and district collectors participated as chief guests in the State Formation Day celebrations and distributed seed kits to around 300 progressive farmers.
The university planned to distribute quality seeds to about 40,000 progressive farmers in approximately 11,000 villages, through the 'Quality Seeds to Every Village' programme.
On the occasion of State Formation Day, around 300 farmers received seeds in various districts. The remaining selected farmers will receive seed kits on June 3 through local Rythu Vedika platforms in the presence of public representatives, agricultural extension officers, agricultural officers, and university officials.

Telangana agri varsity to distribute quality seeds to farmers
Hyderabad: Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University, in collaboration with the department of agriculture, is set to launch an innovative programme, 'Distribution of Quality Seeds from the Agricultural University to Every Village', coinciding with the State Formation Day. As part of the Formation Day celebrations in various districts, ministers, public representatives, and officials from the department of agriculture and the agricultural university would ceremonially distribute quality seed kits for five major crops (rice, pigeon pea, green gram, black gram, and sorghum) to selected progressive farmers. The remaining selected farmers would receive the seed kits on June 3 at their respective village farmer forums under the supervision of local authorities, along with nodal officers from the agricultural university. Approximately 40,000 progressive farmers across 11,000 villages would receive quality seed kits under the initiative. Officials said that state ranks first in the country with a seed replacement rate of 92%. With the rising demand, numerous seed companies have emerged, selling seeds at high prices. Last rabi (yasangi) season, under the direct supervision of university scientists, foundation seeds were produced at various research stations, cleaned, and packaged into 6 or 10-kg packets, ready for distribution to approximately 40,000 farmers. The farmers receiving these kits were encouraged to follow proper management practices and supply the resulting seeds from this kharif (vanakalam) season's yield to fellow farmers in their villages.

Make arrangements to organise State Formation Day grandly: DC
Khanapur: Nirmal district Collector Abhilasha Abhinav has instructed officials to complete all arrangements to organise the Telangana State Formation Day celebrations to be held on June 2 in a grand manner. She held a meeting with officials of the relevant departments at the Collectorate on Thursday. The Collector said that arrangements should be made to invite public representatives and dignitaries for the celebrations. The venue should be decorated with flowers and seating facilities should be provided as per the protocol rules. She suggested that cultural programmes should be organised by students to reflect the cultural traditions of Telangana. She suggested that shamianas, drinking water, snacks and fruit supplies should be made available continuously so that the people coming to the celebrations do not face any inconvenience. Cleanliness should be maintained in the surroundings and that the Police and Fire department personnel should be alert. The Collector added that the Medical department should set up a health camp with emergency medicines. She ordered that special arrangements should be made to provide sanction documents to the beneficiaries of various government schemes including Rajiv Yuva Vikasam. The Collector suggested that the officials should work in coordination and make efforts to organise the State Formation Day celebrations successfully. Additional Collector (Revenue) Kishore Kumar, DRO Ratna Kalyani, district officials and others participated in this meeting.
