Ed Sheeran reveals horror threat to daughters after crazed fans try to break into his home
Ed Sheeran has shared the terrifying threat crazed fans made towards his daughter after they broke into his home. The Shape of You singer, 34, shares daughters Lyra, four, and Jupiter, three, with wife Cherry Seaborn.
And he admitted to Australia's 60 Minutes on Sunday night the extent he has to go to to make sure his family is safe. The pop star revealed his extensive security measures are necessary due to threats he has previously received.
Opening up to the channel, Ed explained of frightening fan encounters that it's the things "people don't really even take into account". "Like kidnap threats and s**t like that," he said.
"We've had attempted break-ins, things left on my car. It's way more sinister than just fans turning up and wanting selfies."
He went on to say he now understands and has to accept that his family will always require a form of protection. Ed added: "We have a level of security that probably won't change until I pass away. That's just our life now."
And he explained his protective ways see him refuse to let his young kids be photographed, adding it has caused "real arguments" with those who try.
"I'm fine with taking pictures," he said. "But I just think it's weird with a four-year-old and a three-year-old."
Candidly, Ed admitted he wished his family could have a more "normal" life as he opened up on the downside of his huge fame. "To be within the public sphere, you have to take it all, the good and the bad. But I think I would definitely want a more normal life for my kids."
The update comes just a month after he had revealed to Louis Theroux how difficult it was to spend time with his kids in public. He said on an episode of the journalist's podcast that he has had to install 24 hour security at his home because of " weird things which have happened'.
'I was having a conversation with my wife about this actually, because I do think that there's a... there is a different kind of normal that is our business," he said on the episode of The Louis Theroux podcast.
"So like, for instance, I have like 24-hour security on my house, I have security with my kids, I have security with me, I have security with my wife, just because there've been a couple of like, weird things over the years that have happened'
When Louis appeared shocked at the admission, Ed added: 'Just, you know, there's lots of dangerous people out there. we've had like, you know, break in attempts and s***, just the stuff like…
'I've never seen that as normal(having security), but within my industry, that's completely normal. Like lots of people I know have way more security and stuff like that.
"So I don't know, that's kind of like an underlying thing that, you know, no one ever really talks about, but that is kind of a part of the normal of being in the public eye, I guess."

Ed Sheeran hits back at TikTok star over 'embarrassing' Ipswich shirt number
Ed Sheeran has hit back at a TikTok account that criticised Ipswich's decision to include the musician among their squad numbers this season - labelling them a "small club" Ipswich fan Ed Sheeran has set the record straight after someone on TikTok hammered the Tractor Boys - calling them "tinpot" - for including the music icon among their shirt numbers for the upcoming season. Sheeran is an avid fan of the Suffolk club and a regular at Portman Road. He has a minority 1.4 percent stake in the club and previously sponsored their kits. Four years ago, the club offered him the No.17 shirt and he's had his name among the club's players in recent years, with the exception of last year. The music star has donned an Ipswich shirt with his number at concerts in the past and, following their return to the Championship, was included in the team's shirt number release that went out recently. That decision has not pleased everyone with one account on TikTok taking aim at Ipswich's decision to include Sheeran among their first-team stars - only for the minority owner to hit back. In a video posted on TikTok which has had over 700,000 views, Davoooo said: "This is genuinely so embarrassing and so tinpot from Ipswich Town right here." He also went on to say: "The fact that this person even wants a number is so entitled it's unbelievable and the fact that Ipswich are giving him a number just shows how much of a small club they are and how tinpot they really are because what are they doing here?" Sheeran didn't take long to reply on social media as he said: "I bet you're fun at parties bruvva. I didn't ask for it btw they offered back in 2021 and it's been this since. The shirts sell a fair bit so brings in profit to the club. It's really not that deep." The 34-year-old has previously partied with the club's players after securing promotion and his name is alongside current stars like Omari Hutchinson, who Ipswich are battling to keep hold of. The highly-rated winger has courted Premier League attention from Brentford and Nottingham Forest. Ipswich begin their Championship season underway on Friday night when they face Birmingham at St Andrew's. Kieran McKenna remains in charge and the Tractor Boys are among the pre-season favourites to gain promotion with the bulk of their squad doing so two years ago. Ed Sheeran hits back at TikToker who branded Ipswich's decision to give singer No 17 shirt as 'embarrassing' - as he explains the real reason why it happened
Ed Sheeran has hit back at a TikToker who criticised Ipswich 's decision to give the singer the No 17 shirt for the upcoming season. Sheeran has a minority stake of 1.4 per cent in his local club, which he acquired last year, and previously sponsored the club's kits. Having first been given the No 17 in 2021, Sheeran has also been allocated that number in subsequent seasons, apart from last campaign when Ipswich were in the Premier League. Sheeran has also performed concerts at Ipswich's Portman Road ground, with shirts with his name on the back helping to raise money for the club. However, when Ipswich announced their squad numbers for this season the decision to include Sheeran was criticised in some quarters. One popular poster on TikTok described the situation as 'baffling' and added that it shows that Ipswich are a 'tinpot' club. In a video posted on TikTok which has had over 700,000 views, Davoooo said: 'This is genuinely so embarrassing and so tinpot from Ipswich Town right here. 'The fact that this person even wants a number is so entitled it's unbelievable and the fact that Ipswich are giving him a number just shows how much of a small club they are and how tinpot they really are because what are they doing here? 'As you can see the Ipswich Town numbers have been released ahead of the new season and everything looks pretty normal there but then you see we have an imposter amongst us. 'The reason behind this is genuinely baffling. The real Ed Sheeran, the singer, he is No 17 at Ipswich Town. It's not even like he's taking a random number. Number 17 is a pretty desired number, there's a lot of good No 17s across world football but Ipswich decided to have Ed Sheeran. 'The reason behind it, you may as well just hand out a squad number to every single celebrity that supports your football club apparently. It says here Ed Sheeran, a lifelong Ipswich Town fan, got given the No 17 in the 2021-22 season. This gesture was a way for the club to acknowledge his support and connection to the team. 'To give him an actual squad number in your playing squad because he's a regular visitor to your stadium and has done a few concerts there is just tinpot.' Sheeran responded by writing: 'I bet you're fun at parties bruvva. I didn't ask for it btw they offered back in 2021 and it's been this since. The shirts sell a fair bit so brings in profit to the club. It's really not that deep.' Ipswich, who were relegated from the Premier League last season, get their Championship campaign underway on Friday night when they face Birmingham away. After purchasing a minority stake in Ipswich last year, Sheeran wrote on Instagram: 'Really excited to announce that I have bought a small percentage of my hometown football club. 'It's any football fan's dream to be an owner of the club they support, and I feel so grateful for this opportunity. 'I have lived in Suffolk since I was three years old and, while I travel the world and sometimes feel like an outsider in big cities, Suffolk and Ipswich have always made me feel part of the community and protected. 'It's such a joy to be a fan of Ipswich Town. There are ups and downs, but football is all about taking the highs and the lows.

Championship predictions: Frank Lampard's Coventry promoted, Watford relegated
The English Football League Championship kicks off on Friday night, when relegated Ipswich Town travel to promoted Birmingham City. England's second tier produced drama all the way to the final day last season and the new campaign promises more of the same. Ipswich Town and Southampton are this season's favourites for automatic promotion, while in-crisis Sheffield Wednesday are favourites for relegation. Celebrity investors have distracted from the football this summer. Ipswich minority owner Ed Sheeran gave himself a squad number, rap star Snoop Dogg bought into Swansea and Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney's Wrexham are attempting a fourth consecutive promotion. That is without mentioning Tom Brady starring in a fly-on-the-wall Birmingham documentary. There are 11 new managers, exciting new signings, famous owners drawing what is certain to be record viewing figures and the expectation of high drama and entertainment. Here are Telegraph Sport's predictions.
