Philadelphia is still basking in the aura of our Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles; but the euphoria for some players on the team has worn off already.
A.J. Brown has already made it clear that winning a Super Bowl did not fulfill him how he thought it would, and now another Eagle is sharing similar sentiments.
Eagles RB Saquon Barkley was a featured guest on the Exciting Mics podcast with teammates Cooper DeJean and Reed Blankenship, where he expressed a plethora of topics including: The Tush Push Ban, SaQUAD Nickname, and the Eagles Super Bowl LIX roster.
Barkley went on the record saying that the 2024-2025 Eagles were one of the best roster in NFL History, but he all said something very unorthodox… winning the Superbowl sucked?
'It sucked… I mean… it's something you dream about as a kid, and you practice that moment so many times… it's an amazing feeling' Barkley said. 'Then like, two days after I couldn't sleep because now you're just like… 'how do I do it again''?
Eagles wide reciever A.J. Brown couldn't agree more, as he found more thrill in the hunt, in which the Eagles do so well, taking out the hashtag #LetsHunt during their Super Bowl LIX run.
'I've never been a champion at the highest level before but I thought my hard work would be justified by winning it all. It wasn't.' Brown captioned in his instagram post. My thrill for this game comes when i dominate. It's the Hunt that does it for me…he Intense battles. Early mornings. Late nights. Sacrifices. I love putting smiles on peoples faces, don't get me wrong but it just wasn't what I thought it would be. It's the journey that I love the most.

Auburn football to honor 40th anniversary of Bo Jackson's Heisman Trophy season

AUBURN — An Auburn football legend will be the focus of this year's Iron Bowl festivities, as the program announced Friday it'll honor the 40th anniversary of Bo Jackson's Heisman Trophy season during the Iron Bowl on Nov. 29. Jackson became Auburn's second-ever Heisman Trophy winner after rushing for an SEC-leading 1,786 yards and 17 touchdowns during the 1985 season. At the time, Jackson's rushing yardage was the second-best single-season performance in SEC history. 'Ever since he arrived on the Plains in 1982, Bo Jackson has represented Auburn in a world class manner in his athletic, professional and philanthropic endeavors,' Auburn athletic director John Cohen said in a release. 'Bo's 1985 season ranks among the greatest in the storied history of Auburn and the Southeastern Conference. It is our privilege to honor Bo on the 40th anniversary of his Heisman Trophy season.' Jackson's four-year Auburn football career concluded with 4,303 rushing yards, 4,575 all-purpose yards and 43 rushing touchdowns. His jersey number, No. 34, was retired in 1992. A three-sport athlete in football, baseball and track and field on the Plains, Jackson became one of the most distinguished professional athletes of all time after playing four seasons in the NFL and eight in the MLB. Jackson's NFL career was cut short due to injury in 1991, but he spent four seasons with the Oakland Raiders and tallied 2,782 yards and 16 touchdowns. He played baseball for three different franchises, the Kansas City Royals, Chicago White Sox and California Angels, and was named the 1989 All-Star Game MVP and 1993 American League Comeback Player of the Year. Auburn football announces plans to officially retire Cam Newton's jersey number

This story has been updated to include new information. AUBURN — Cam Newton, one of the most prolific college quarterbacks in the history of the sport, will have his No. 2 jersey retired by Auburn football, the program announced Monday. Auburn athletic director John Cohen broke the news to Newton, in a video the program posted to social media Monday morning. The retirement ceremony will take place on Oct. 11, the day of the Tigers' contest against Georgia, at Jordan-Hare Stadium, according to a press release. "Auburn will always be home to me,' Newton said in a release. 'The national championship we won in 2010 was a special moment, and to have my jersey retired alongside legends like Pat Sullivan, Bo Jackson, and Terry Beasley is an incredible honor that I'll cherish forever." When retired, Newton will be the fourth player in program history to have his number shelved, joining Pat Sullivan (No. 7), Bo Jackson (No. 34) and Terry Beasley (No. 88). Newton was technically one of the last two players to wear No. 2 at Auburn, as he and cornerback Aairon Savage both wore the same number for the 2010 season. No Auburn player has worn it since. A consensus first team All-American, Newton spent one season on the Plains and it ended with the 2010 BCS National Championship. Newton racked up more than just a Heisman Trophy, also winning the Davey O'Brien, Manning, Maxwell and Walter Camp awards, as he became the third FBS player to ever record 20 passing and rushing touchdowns in a single season. His 2010 was packed with high notes for Auburn, including its first SEC championship in six seasons, and its last Iron Bowl victory in Tuscaloosa. Following Newton's phenomenal season on the Plains, he was selected first overall by the Carolina Panthers in the 2011 NFL Draft. Newton spent 11 seasons in the NFL, 10 of which were with Carolina. He was named both the Offensive Rookie of the Year (2011) and MVP (2015) as a Panther. He also led the franchise to Super Bowl 50, where Carolina lost 24-10 to the Denver Broncos, among four postseason appearances and three division titles. Newton holds the Carolina franchise records for passing yards, passing touchdowns and rushing touchdowns. His 75 rushing touchdowns are the most by a quarterback in NFL history. NFL preseason live updates: Commanders starters run through porous Bengals defense; are they moving on from Brian Robinson Jr.?

[NFL top storylines | NFL team feeds | NFL camp/preseason live blog] Three-year starting Commanders running back Brian Robinson Jr. appears to be on his way out. The Commanders may have demonstrated why Monday night. With Robinson sidelined amid reported trade rumors, Washington ran roughshod over a porous Bengals defense as both teams played their starters early. The Commanders exploded for a four-play, 73-yard touchdown drive on their opening possession without throwing a pass. Running back Chris Rodriguez broke free for a 40-yard run to set up quarterback Jayden Daniels for a 14-yard touchdown scramble through and past multiple hapless Bengals defenders. [Join or create a Yahoo Fantasy Football league for the 2025 NFL season] Then came Jacory Croskey-Merritt's time to shine. The seventh-round rookie out of Arizona took the starring role on Washington's second drive with 32 rushing yards as the Commanders needed just three plays to score their second touchdown of the game. Croskey-Merritt capped the drive with a 27-yard touchdown run. By halftime, Rodriguez had six carries for 62 yards (10.3 ypc) and Croskey-Merritt had 32 yards on two carries (16 ypc). Deebo Samuel (1 carry, 19 yards) and Daniels (1 carry, 14 yards) had also gashed the Bengals defense for big gains. Washington tallied 130 yards on 13 first-half carries (10 yards per attempt) against a Bengals defense that looked just as bad as it did during the regular season in 2024. It's always hard to trust your eyes in the preseason. But Cincinnati's run defense did little to inspire confidence, while Washington may have set its running back room without Robinson in the mix. NFL top storylines Browns name Joe Flacco starting quarterback for Week 1: The Cleveland Browns announced Monday that Joe Flacco will start Week 1 against the Cincinnati Bengals, a move that has been expected for a while and is now official. That hardly ends the intrigue on the Browns' depth chart, though, with presumptive backup Kenny Pickett having yet to take an in-game snap this preseason due to injury, fifth-round rookie Shedeur Sanders still battling an oblique injury, and third-round rookie Dillon Gabriel having looked solid in his debut over the weekend. With Flacco getting playing time in Saturday's preseason finale, snaps will be even more scarce for the other three QBs on the roster. How will this shake out? Matthew Stafford returns to Rams practice: Breathe a sigh of relief, Los Angeles Rams fans and fantasy players. Matthew Stafford finally returned to practice on Monday after battling an aggravated disc in his back and took part in team drills. Head coach Sean McVay said he thought Stafford did a good job, but opted to play things carefully, deeming Stafford as day-to-day and week-to-week. McVay called it a "very fluid" situation and said while it was "great" that Stafford was able to get back to practice, the team will see how he responds the rest of the day and Tuesday. Browns sign WR Isaiah Bond, gave him lie detector test: The Cleveland Browns reportedly signed wide receiver Isaiah Bond to a three-year, $3 million deal Monday after he was not charged as part of a sexual assault investigation. Bond, 21, was expected to be a mid-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft but went undrafted after being arrested just two weeks before the draft. On Thursday, Bond was "no-billed" by a grand jury in Texas, meaning there was not enough evidence to charge him. As part of that diligence, the team apparently had Bond go through an independent polygraph test, per team general manager Andrew Berry.
