UNC football lands top 100 recruit in 2026 class
Bill Belichick and the North Carolina Tar Heels continue to prep for the 2025 season with kickoff against TCU just under three weeks away. While this is the first year under Belichick, the program will really start to feel his impact in terms of recruiting in the 2026 class.
And the Tar Heels just added another big piece to that 2026 class.
On Friday, the Tar Heels secured a commitment from top 100 player C.J. Sadler as he ended his recruitment and picked North Carolina. The four-star athlete picked the Tar Heels over his other finalists, Colorado, Maryland, and Michigan. The Michigan native is the top recruit in the state and a top 100 player overall, giving UNC their second-highest-rated recruit in the Belichick era behind only quarterback Travis Burgess.
With Sadler being listed as an athlete, the plan is for him to play defensive back, wide receiver and be a return man for the Tar Heels per 247Sports.
The 5-foot-9, 185-pound Sadler is ranked No. 85 nationally, the No. 8 athlete, and No. 1 player in the state of Michigan per the 247Sports rankings. With his commitment, UNC now has the No. 17 overall class for the 2026 cycle.
