Has Under a Dark Sun been renewed for Season 2? Here's what we know:
Under a Dark Sun is the latest murder mystery thriller on Netflix, armed with a twisty-turny story, compelling characters and 6 episodes of drama. Having watched the first season in its entirety, you may be wondering if this one has been renewed or cancelled. Well, wonder no more!
What is Under a Dark Sun about?
Under a Dark Sun is set in the idyllic flower fields of Provence. Alba Mazier, a young single mother with a criminal record, takes a job on a rural farm run by the wealthy Lasserre family. When the patriarch, Arnaud Lasserre, is found murdered, Alba becomes the prime suspect—especially after it's revealed that Arnaud secretly changed his will to include her.
As the investigation unfolds, shocking truths come to light and it seems there's more than one secret in this family that threatens to spill out at any moment.
We have ongoing coverage of Under a Dark Sun on the site, including recaps for every episode. You can find those HERE!
Has Under a Dark Sun been renewed for Season 2?
At the time of writing, Under a Dark Sun has not been renewed for season 2. Generally Netflix would gauge numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate.
With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly. Other times, it can take months before a decision over a show's future is made. So far, Under a Dark Sun has had a pretty good reaction online from audiences and critics alike.
Given the way this show is set up, and the ending we receive, we're predicting that this will not be renewed for a second season. The ending is actually quite conclusive and unless the tone changes dramatically into more soapy waters, there's not much in the way of a mystery left to uncover.
Having said that, we do also know that completion rate is a massive metric for these streamers so that could play a pivotal role here. For now, we'll have to wait and see what happens!
What we know about season 2 so far:
Barely anything is known about Under a Dark Sun season 2 at this point given Netflix haven't officially renewed or cancelled this one. Given the first season's conclusion, it does seem like it could be brought back for more interpersonal drama but that does seem like a long shot
The show ends the main case but does leave things open for a potential sequel, especially with Nadia's return that looks set to shake things up. If this is green-lit for another season, expect another 6 episodes and most of the main cast and crew to return.
We will update this page when more information becomes available, so be sure to check this page out in the near future.

Nicola Peltz appears strained as she steps out with husband Brooklyn Beckham in sun-soaked St Tropez amid ongoing family feud
Nicola Peltz appeared strained as she stepped out with husband Brooklyn Beckham in St Tropez on Friday amid their ongoing feud with his famous parents. The billionaire heiress, 30, held onto the 26-year-old aspiring chef's hand and while he flashed a smile she looked stoney faced. Nicola showcased her tiny waist in a chic black co-ord which featured a fur trimmed cropped top and figure-hugging peddle pushers. She slipped her feet into towering platforms and accessorised with statment silver earrings and a chic handbag. Meanwhile Brooklyn was also dressed for the sunny weather in white shirt and tan trousers with a baseball cap, that was worn backwards, and sandals. The couple, who wed in April 2022, are in the midst of an escalating rift with his parents David and Victoria Beckham. It comes after Nicola doubled down as she declared him 'her everything' on Wednesday. Nicola took to her Instagram Stories with snaps of the pair embracing during their sun-soaked getaway on board her billionaire father's yacht in St Tropez. Nicola and Brooklyn only had eyes for each other as she wrapped her arms around his neck while he pulled her in close. She wore a bikini top and skimpy white shorts while her husband shielded his eyes behind shades and a baseball cap and cheekily squeezed her bottom. Nicola captioned the post: 'My everything @BrooklynBeckhamPeltz' with Brooklyn chef later resharing it with his followers. Meanwhile Victoria continued to put on a brave face on Tuesday as she plugged a new product from her beauty brand amid her bitter ongoing family feud. Victoria brushed aside her woes and got back to business as she promoted her Colour Wash liquid blush on her Instagram page. Sitting in a room with a white towel wrapped around her head and donning a silk bathrobe, Victoria showed off her radiant complexion with a light and dewy makeup palette. It comes after Nicola doubled down amid her and husband Brooklyn Beckham's feud with his family as she declared him 'her everything' on Wednesday In the tutorial video, the beauty applied the product, which retails for £44, on her cheeks and lips as she explained that she is 'obsessed with it going into summer'. 'I can get that cute little flushed look whilst literally spending my whole summer in the shade,' she told her followers. The fashion designer appeared in good spirits as she talked through the new product with her fans amid her recent heartbreak over her rift with her eldest son. Last week, it was revealed that Brooklyn and Nicola's Instagram accounts no longer follow his younger brothers Cruz, 20, and Romeo, 22, in the latest family drama. However, Brooklyn's friends told MailOnline on Friday that Cruz and Romeo have actually blocked them on the social media platform. This would make sense given that Brooklyn and Nicola are still following Victoria, 51 and David, 50. Cruz and Romeo were still following Brooklyn and Nicola earlier this week but appeared to take action after Brooklyn posted a birthday tribute to sister Harper, sharing a family photo without them in it - which Nicola reposted. There was much speculation whether Brooklyn would reach out to Harper on her 14th birthday on Thursday, but despite him doing so, it seems all is not well in the camp. Brooklyn's birthday tribute to Harper marked his first public interaction with his family since he paid tribute to his grandmother Sandra on June 26, despite remaining silent and shunning his father's 50th birthday earlier that same month. Sources close to the family have told MailOnline of their fears that Brooklyn and his wife Nicola have also distanced themselves from Harper after they failed to visit her when they flew into London in May to film an advert for French-Italian clothing brand Moncler just over a mile from the family home in Holland Park. David and Victoria had no idea whether Brooklyn, who Harper has idolised since she was a little girl, would message her privately or publicly on Instagram because they have no communication with him.

Stranger Things fans 'figure out who's going to die' after season 5 trailer
To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Stranger Things fans think they may have worked out which characters are set to die in season five. The trailer for the fifth and final season of Netflix's Stranger Things was released earlier this week, and fan theories have been coming in thick and fast about how the show will be wrapped up. The series has shown over the years that it's not afraid to kill off a lovable character or two – RIP to Eddie Munson and Dr Alexei. However, usually the show will introduce a character in a series for the audience to fall in love with them, and then kill them off. This has saved them from getting rid of any of the main cast. But, this said, the upcoming season is going to be the last, so is it finally time to kill off some of the main cast? After watching the trailer, fans think they know who's going to be killed off…Steve Harrington. The trailer two-and-a-half-minute trailer, opens on Steve Harrington (Joe Keery) who is tinkering with a device in a van, before ominously proclaiming 'burn commencing in five, four, three, two, and…' The camera flicks to all our major players, including Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven, Winona Ryder as Joyce, Maya Hawke as Robin and Natalie Dyer as Nancy all in a room together with grim expressions on their face. Across the internet, Steve's death is a leading theory among fans, with some pointing to Nancy crying in the trailer. 'People saying Nancy was crying bc either Jonathan or Steve dies imagine having Steve Harrington die around the holidays,' said itslydiaaaa on X. 'I SWEAR TO GOD THAT NANCY CRYING SCENE IF STEVE DIES I SWEAR,' said maxcrzzz. Of course, Nancy crying could mean that any number of characters have died, including her close family members or current boyfriend, Jonathan. 'Everyone thinks Nancy's crying over Jonathan or Steve's death but what if it's because she came home to find Karen & Ted slaughtered and Holly missing? Then what? 😭' said JoshTheMedic on X. 'My prediction is Jonathan will go out in a hero moment with the clash song playing. And obviously that is Nancy crying because of it,' said CinemaGulp. Fans on Reddit have also pointed out that while Steve is a fan-favourite character, his death wouldn't prohibit the rest of the characters from moving on with their lives, meaning the ending could still be considered somewhat happy. 'From my perspective, the main people that will be affected by his death will be Robin and Dustin (obvi maybe even Nancy but she still has Jonathan, Mike, and her entire family). I feel like this would be the death that would least impact the entire group,' said Strangestsalmon. In the trailer, Will can be heard telling someone to 'RUN!' On Twitter, fans have shared 'leaked footage' that supposedly proves Will was talking to Steve, which could further prove that his life is going to be in jeopardy. While this leaked footage may be total nonsense, it is also supported by another fan theory based on a video shared by the creators of the series, the Duffer brothers- which has since been clipped on X. While mapping out a scene with Funk Pop toys, the Duffer brothers showed that the toy depicting Steve was flat on its back and out of the action – could this mean that he's killed off? Metro asked readers on Facebook about their theories, and fans were happy to share their two cents. 'I have a theory but it's just my opinion I think between Steve, Jonathan or 11 might not survive it's just my theory nothing else,' said Michelle Mckenzie. '11, Steve, Hopper, Will, Max will die. In the trailer, Dustin is sobbing into Hoppers chest. If it's all just a D&D game, I'm burning the place down,' said Joni Blanchard. Of course, the Duffer brothers could just go rogue and kill them all, and we know they're not afraid to play with our feelings. More Trending At the end of season four, Max's life was left hanging in the balance, comatose in a hospital after being attacked by Vecna. Things also didn't look good as Vecna's plan came to fruition and the Upside Down was unleashed onto Hawkins. The season ended with the an earthquake of over 7 on the Richter scale tearing the town apart, with the Upside Down leaking into the town. The series is set to be released in November, with more episodes expected to be staggered in their release and follow in the weeks after. The first of the three releases will be on November 26, with the second taking place on December 25, and the final shows released on December 31. Got a story?
