Jaat lifetime box office collection: Sunny Deol's Jaat hit the screens on April 10 and opened to a decent response at the box office, and grossed Rs 9.5 crore worldwide on the first day. The film then witnessed growth in mass centres but remained flat in the urban areas. Now, nearly a month later, Jaat's run is over and its verdict is out.
Jaat disappoints at the worldwide box office
Jaat, Sunny Deol's first release after Gadar 2 (2023), has failed to live up to expectations despite the mass hero's popularity. According to Manobala Vijayabalan, a trade analyst, the actioner earned Rs 115 crore globally in its full run. This is not a bad figure when viewed in isolation.
It, however, pales in comparison to what Gadar 2 made in its full run. Anil Sharma's well-received sequel to Gadar (2001) earned Rs 691 crore in its lifetime on a budget of Rs 60 crore and emerged as a blockbuster despite facing competition from Akshay Kumar's OMG 2 and the Rajinikanth-led Jailer.
Jaat received mixed reviews with critics praising the performances but panning the presentation. Manobala feels that the average word-of-mouth stunted its performance at the box office.
'Jaat is an average to hit venture at the box office when compared with its budget. The film managed to fetch ₹115 cr across the world. It couldn't perform well because of mixed reactions and competition,' he told Indiatimes.
Jaat was released alongside Ajith Kumar's Good Bad Ugly, which emerged as the top choice of the audience in the Tamil market and earned an impressive Rs 242 crore at the box office. Sunny Deol's film also faced competition from Kesari Chapter 2, which hit the screens the next week and did well in the urban market.

On Day 14 alone, i.e., on its second Friday, Cruise's final appearance as the IMF agent Ethan Hunt could collect just Rs 1.75 crore (early estimates) across all languages, with an overall 16.50% English occupancy and 8.91% Hindi occupancy. By the end of week 2, the total earnings of The Final Reckoning in India have reached about Rs 82.90 crore. Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, the latest spy action thriller continues the story from Dead Reckoning Part One, which was released in 2023. Bhool Chuk Maaf Box Office Collection Day 8: Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi's romantic comedy Bhool Chuk Maaf has completed half of its planned two-week theatrical run. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film's Indian nett collection rose to Rs 47.25 crore, after it earned Rs 3.15 crore on its second Friday. In all probability, the film should be able to cross the Rs 50 crore mark on Saturday, and will then have one week remaining to maximise its earnings. The Akshay Kumar and R Madhavan courtroom drama Kesari 2 had a similar first week run, but it crossed the Rs 50 crore mark on its second Friday. With the current numbers, Bhool Chuk Maaf has already surpassed the India nett collection of Wamiqa's last film, Baby John, which featured Varun Dhawan and debutant Keerthy Suresh. On the other hand, Rajkummar's last film was the Amar Kaushik directorial Stree 2, which had an India nett collection of over Rs 600 crore. The makers will be hoping that this number will go up the coming two days, as this is the last weekend the film will run in the theatres almost unchallenged. On June 5, Mani Ratnam's Thug Life, featuring Kamal Haasan, will be release in theatres, and on the very next day, the ensemble comedy Housefull 5 will be released. The cast of the latter includes stars like Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Sonam Bajwa, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sanjay Dutt and Jackie Shroff. The limited theatre run was decided after the makers of the film announced that they will be releasing the film straight on Prime Video. This move came during the aftermath of the Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindoor. This did not go well with the multiplex chain PVR INOX, which sued them for damages, and finally, Maddock Films had to release the film in theatres, but just for two weeks. The film will be available to stream on Prime Video from June 6.
