The government bans OTT apps and websites over 'obscene' content for providing
As per the report, the Indian government has ordered blocking all the websites and OTT platforms mentioned in the list for 'obscene,' 'vulgar,' and 'p*rn*graphic content.'
After authorities found that these apps and websites were violating the policies and laws, the centre took such a step.
The report further stated that as per the officials, several platforms had content with "s*xual innuendos," while some featured long scenes of "s*xually explicit acts" with nudity.
This content was described as "pornographic in nature."
Reportedly, the content hosted by these apps had no story but was just full of "obscene and vulgar" imagery. The portrayal of nudity and sexual content in unsuitable circumstances was also noticed by authorities, and they flagged it, especially "family relationships and other sensitive settings."
The government is yet to announce the ban publicly
In April this year, the Apex Court issued notices to the Centre and other popular digital platforms as a response to a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) asking for action against explicit content on OTT platforms along with social media as well.

Full-fledged mining to start from Oct
Porvorim: Chief minister Pramod Sawant on Tuesday said in the assembly that mining activities will begin on a larger scale in Goa from Oct this year. Sawant said that an auction for 12 mining blocks has been tendered, and mining has commenced in the case of three, while four other blocks are in the process of being auctioned and will be operational soon. Trio arrested from Maha for duping man of Rs 44 lakh in investment fraud
Hyderabad: The cybercrime police, Hyderabad, arrested three cyber fraudsters from Maharashtra on Tuesday for allegedly siphoning over Rs 44 lakh from a city-based victim through a bogus online stock trading application. The accused, Milind Manohar Narkar (34), from Mumbai, Ranak Jagadish Patel (31) and Salik Imtiyaz Ahmed Siddiqui (25), from Thane, were arrested from their houses and brought to Hyderabad on transit remand on Tuesday. Goa Public Universities Bill, spurred by NEP, to be tabled
Panaji: State govt will introduce the Goa Public Universities Bill, 2025, in the ongoing monsoon session of the assembly to provide for the establishment and collaboration of public universities in Goa to implement the goals of the National Education Policy, 2020. The cabinet granted approval to the bill on Tuesday, empowering state govt to fund public universities through the consolidated fund of the state, with an initial provision of Rs 25 crore. The universities will be established to implement the multidisciplinary approach, imparting quality, industry-relevant, and world-class higher education. They will also aim to transform higher education institutions into multidisciplinary institutions. The main thrust of the National Education Policy on higher education is to end the fragmentation of institutions by transforming them into large multidisciplinary universities, colleges, and higher education institution (HEI) clusters/knowledge hubs. Each of these plans to cater to 3,000 or more students. The cabinet emphasised the fact that to implement the objectives of the National Education Policy, it is imperative to develop a roadmap for transformation. This is especially important considering the policy mandates that by 2035, all affiliated colleges must evolve into degree-awarding multidisciplinary autonomous institutions. This transformation can be achieved through collaboration in the form of institutional clusters, as envisioned in the National Education Policy. Hence, Goa intends to establish clusters of public universities.
