All six people killed in San Diego plane crash identified: ‘Devastated beyond words'

7NEWS25-05-2025

All six of the people killed in a small plane crash in San Diego on Thursday have been identified by their family members and friends.
The Cessna Citation small jet crashed just before 4am, leaving no survivors, National Transportation Safety Board Investigator-in-Charge Dan Baker said Friday in a news conference.
Among the victims was Daniel Williams, 39, a drummer for the band The Devil Wears Prada, his father, Larry Williams, confirmed to TMZ. Williams had posted an image from the jet's cockpit on his Instagram story on Wednesday, shortly before takeoff.
The band posted a photo tribute to him on their Instagram account on Thursday.
'No words. We owe you everything. Love you forever,' the band wrote.
The Cessna left Teterboro Airport in New Jersey, just outside New York City, at 11:15pm Wednesday, authorities have said.
Hours later, the plane struck high-tension power lines on approach to the runway at Montgomery-Gibbs Executive Airport in San Diego and crashed, Baker said.
The impact destroyed multiple homes and ignited fires in several cars. There were no serious injuries to anyone on the ground, Baker said.
Sound Talent Group said on Friday that co-founder Dave Shapiro and two others employees, Kendall Fortner and Emma Lynn Huke, died in the crash.
'We are devastated by the loss of our co-founder, colleagues and friends,' Sound Talent Group said in a statement. 'Our hearts go out to their families and to everyone impacted by today's tragedy.'
Shapiro, 42, led an impressive roster of artists, including Vanessa Carlton, Pierce The Veil, Lamb of God, I Prevail, Sum 41 and Hanson, according to the music group's website.
'No one could say a bad word about him. He was just a beautiful beautiful guy,' Lionel Conway, a friend of Shapiro, told the TODAY Show on Friday.
Celina Kenyon's family said in a statement Friday that the 36-year-old died in the plane crash while returning from a trip to photograph and support friends.
'Celina was an amazing mother, daughter, sister, grand-daughter, partner and friend,' her family said in a statement to NBC San Diego.
'She decided to fly home to San Diego with other crew and friends on a late night private flight rather than a commercial flight so she could get home early to take her daughter to school,' the family said.
'Our family is devastated beyond words,' they said. 'The world has lost a beautiful bright light.'
The sixth victim was identified as 41 year old Dominic Damian, his father, David Damian, told NBC News on Saturday. Damian was a software engineer who lived in San Diego, according to his LinkedIn profile.
The San Diego County Department of the Medical Examiner had identified only three of the dead by Saturday afternoon.
Authorities have not said who was flying the aircraft.
The pilot didn't report any problems to air traffic control to the airport and did not declare an emergency before the crash, Baker said.
An automated system at the airport that gives weather information was out because of a unrelated power surge, but air traffic control reported to the pilot that the weather at nearby Marine Corps Air Station Miramar was calm winds with one-half-mile visibility and a 200-foot ceiling, Baker said.
There were notices to pilots in effect that the runway 'precision approach path indicator' and the 'medium intensity approach light system with runway alignment indicator lights' were not in service at the time.
A cause of the crash has not been determined and it is under investigation, he said.
The plane did not have a flight data recorder, and investigators are trying to determine whether it was equipped with a cockpit voice recorder, Baker said.

Walton Goggins and Aimee Lou Wood finally address 'ridiculous' reports of White Lotus feud

Walton Goggins has confirmed there is "no feud" with Aimee Lou Wood after 'The White Lotus'. The 53-year-old actor and his co-star - who played Rick Hatchett and Chelsea on the hit HBO show - have faced claims of a rift between them after he unfollowed her on Instagram once season three of Mike White's anthology drama was finished. In a joint interview for Variety's Actor on Actor series, he said: 'There is no feud. I adore, I love this woman madly, and she is so important to me. 'This is Goldie Hawn. This is Meg Ryan. She can do anything, and she will. You watch what the next 20 years of her experience will be. "I'll be on an island, I think Greece. But she's special. There is no feud. She is love and I know that I am that to her. We care about each other very deeply.' Walton insisted the speculation over him unfollowing her on social media was "such a comment on where we're at culturally". He argued: "Why is everyone obsessing over Instagram? That is irrelevant. We don't give a s**** about Instagram. 'Why not have conversations about the story and Rick and Chelsea and enjoy it?' Meanwhile, 'Sex Education' star Aimee, 31, explained why she decided to stay silent on the rumours despite initially wanting to correct everyone. She said: "Eventually I just started to sit back and watch these people making something out of absolutely nothing.' Walton took the opportunity in their interview to "follow" her right there and then, as he found his phone and opened up Instagram. He added: "It's all so ridiculous. It's just a part of me just saying goodbye to this character so that now Aimee and I will be friends for f****** ever.' As they hugged, she told him: 'I completely understand.' Meanwhile, Walton recalled having an emotional goodbye with 'Justified' castmate Tim Olyphant before not talking to him "for almost two years", which is what he's done "with every single thing" he's worked on. There was also the added heartbreak of him returning to Bangkok, Thailand for the first time since he escaped to the city after his wife took her own life in 2004. He explained: "My catharsis in this experience was different than other people's, because of my history in this place. "I knew what we had gone through, and I knew how close that we had gotten, and I needed to begin to process saying goodbye to Rick and Chelsea. 'And I knew that that was going to take a while for me, so I let her know, this is what I've gotta do. And she was extremely supportive about that.' He "needed to just back away from everyone", noting it wasn't a case of solely ignoring Aimee. He said: "I haven't spoken to anyone. I couldn't handle it. Judge me or don't. I don't give a f*** what you think. "This is my process. Rick means everything to me, and Chelsea means everything to me. And so that's what I needed to do for me to process all of this.'

Meghan Markle shares delivery room twerking video to celebrate daughter Lilibet's birthday

Turning four is a big deal and Meghan Markle is celebrating daughter Lilibet achieving the milestone with an Instagram blitz of intimate photos — and even a video of her and Prince Harry dancing in the delivery room on the day she was born. In an extraordinary insight into their private lives, the former senior royals can be seen in a viral TikTok-style video busting a move. Meghan and Harry are known to fiercely guard the privacy of Lilibet and Archie but appear to have changed their tune. Clutching her very pregnant belly and with an IV port in her left arm, in the video, Meghan looks calm and happy as she twerks to The Baby Momma Dance by Starrkeisha from 2013. Prince Harry also makes an appearance throwing down his best dad moves. SEE THE VIDEO IN THE PLAYER ABOVE Meghan joked that the dancing was a last resort to bring on the birth, given Lilibet was a week overdue at the time. 'Four years ago today, this also happened. Both of our children were a week past their due dates… so when spicy food, all that walking, and acupuncture didn't work - there was only one thing left to do!' Meghan wrote alongside the video. Meghan has also shared a photo of a touching moment between Prince Harry and his then baby daughter lovingly making eye contact and another of the pair barefoot and dressed casually walking on a dirt road while holding hands. 'The sweetest bond to watch unfold. Daddy's little girl and favorite adventurer,' she wrote. The first social media post in the birthday photo blitz was of Meghan, apparently on a boat, make-up free and with windswept hair cuddling Lili. 'Happy birthday to our beautiful girl! Four years ago today she came into our lives - and each day is brighter and better because of it. Thanks to all of those sending love and celebrating her special day!' Lilibet is Meghan and Prince Harry second child, their first, Archie, is two years older. She was born on June 4, 2021 — a year after the pair's infamous 'Megxit' from the UK and royal duties. Her full name is Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, a nod to Prince Harry's grandmother Queen Elizabeth and his mother Princess Diana.

Channing Tatum's Aussie girlfriend models naked in Bali

Inka Williams has no doubt left new boyfriend Channing Tatum lost for words after sharing snaps from an ethereal photoshoot in which she posed naked. The Melbourne-born but Bali-raised model left little to the imagination in a recent dump of stunning images posted to her Instagram. The 25-year-old channelled her inner Greek goddess for the oceanic-themed photoshoot with her long-time friend, photographer Amberly Valentine, behind the camera in the Bali studio. In one photo, Williams went nude with nothing but a sheer, cream sheet of material that was draped over the front of her body and flowed behind her. Another risque image showed the brunette relaxing in water while wearing another sheer outfit that clung to her naked body. Inka Williams' recent photoshoot in Bali. Credit: Supplied Fellow Australians and fans took to the comments section of the post in awe of her beauty. Artist Mahinanani Alexander said: 'Absolutely stunning. You two always make magic🙌😍.' Williams seemingly took influencer Tammy Hembrow's breath away, commenting with the single word: 'Wow.' One fan questioned: 'Is the studio on top of Mount Olympus??' 'These are some of the prettiest photos I've ever seen 😍 obsessed with the shell one,' another fan said. 'The seashell shots are absolutely stunning, but they're all so ethereal, and you look like a goddess,' a third added. Williams has made headlines of late after she was rumoured to be dating Hollywood heavyweight Channing Tatum, who called off his engagement with Zoe Kravitz in October. A few months later, Tatum stepped out with Williams at a pre-Oscars party, which seemingly confirmed the actor had moved on. In April, Williams confirmed the relationship on Instagram by wishing Tatum a happy birthday. 'Happy life to the handsomest, kindest, funniest, stoopidest, most gorgeous human ever !!!' she wrote in an Instagram Story that included nine photos of the couple together. 'Merci for making life beautiful and fun.' She ended her post with some French slang that translates to 'I love you' in English: 'Jtm trop fort.' Williams, who co-founded fashion brand She Is I in 2019, has been modelling since was a baby but turned the hobby into a career at the age of 15. She is signed to IMG Models, which describes Williams as someone who is 'fashion savvy' and has 'chameleon-like flexibility'.
