Gauri Khan rents Rs 1.35 lakh per month flat for Mannat staff, 100 metres away from family's new Pali Hill home

As renovations are underway at his monumental residence, Mannat, Shah Rukh Khan and his family, including wife Gauri Khan and their children Aryan, Suhana and AbRam, are currently living in a temporary home in the Pali Hill area of Mumbai. They moved to their interim home in April this year, and it is learnt that the family will stay there for over two years as their iconic bungalow at Bandstand is undergoing extensive renovations. Now, a new report has emerged stating that Gauri Khan has rented a flat just 100 metres away from their own home in the Puja Casa building, Pali Hill, exclusively for her staff. The 725 sq ft residential unit is located in Pankaj Society, Pali Hill. According to Zapkey, the flat has been rented from one Sanjay Kishor Ramani at Rs 1.35 lakh per month. The lease has been signed for a period of three years. In addition to a security deposit of Rs 4.05 lakh, the agreement also stipulates a five per cent annual rent escalation. According to an earlier report, Shah Rukh Khan had leased two duplex apartments in Puja Casa for a staggering Rs 2.9 crore per year, with the monthly rent amounting to Rs 24 lakh for the four floors. Although the combined carpet area of the duplex apartments was reportedly about 10,500 sq ft, it is less than half the size of Mannat, which spans approximately 27,000 sq ft. The Puja Casa building is owned by Jackky Bhagnani, his sister Deepshikha Deshmukh and their father, producer Vashu Bhagnani, Hindustan Times reported. A Grade 2-B heritage structure, Mannat is currently undergoing renovations to add two more floors, thereby increasing the built-up area by 616.02 sq m. Shah Rukh Khan purchased the property in 2001 but was not allowed to make structural alterations due to its heritage status. Grade 2 structures include buildings and precincts of local and regional importance possessing special architectural and cultural merit. As a result, he constructed a six-storey annexe behind the original villa, which he named Mannat.

Why has Shah Rukh Khan's wife Gauri Khan rented another Rs 1.35 lakh flat? Details inside

It is not a hidden fact that Shah Rukh Khan and his family are not living in their iconic Mumbai abode, Mannat, now. This was after their residence went under renovation earlier this year. The residence was also home to several staff members who took care of the Khan family. And now, the latest reports suggest that Gauri Khan has rented a flat for her staff members in Mumbai's Khar area. As per reports derived from by News 18, it is said that Gauri has rented a flat for Rs 1.35 lakh in Pankaj society for her staff members. This society is located in one of Mumbai's well-known residential spots and is just 100 metres away from another duplex apartment she had rented right after Mannat went under renovation. The reports further reveal that the rented flat is on the 4th floor of the building and it is around 725 sq ft. It has been rented from Sanjay Kishor Ramani, and apart from the rent, a security deposit of Rs 4.05 lakh is also paid. Reportedly, this agreement is for 3 years and promises a 5 per cent rent hike every year. Earlier, there were reports that Shah Rukh Khan's wife has rented two duplexes in Khar's Pali Hill for Rs 8.67 crore. This is also for 3 years. The renovation work had landed the Khan family in trouble somewhere around March. According to a report by Bar & Bench on Monday, activist Santosh Daundkar had filed a plea with the National Green Tribunal (NGT), claiming that Shah Rukh Khan and the Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority (MCZMA) did not secure the necessary Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) clearance for the renovation of Mannat. Given that the bungalow is classified as a Grade III heritage structure, any modifications require official approval. The report also stated that Khan intended to add two additional floors to his six-storey bungalow. It also alleges that he converted twelve 1-BHK flats, originally designated for mass housing, into a single-family residence. Talking about his work front, Shah Rukh Khan is all geared up to shoot for King, which will also star his daughter Suhana Khan and Deepika Padukone.

The sports drama not only won over the audience but also became a success at the box office, despite a low opening. But did you know that Salman Khan was initially offered the role of Hockey coach Kabir Khan? So, what went wrong? Let's delve into the story behind the scenes and discover why Salman Khan passed on this iconic role, paving the way for Shah Rukh Khan's masterpiece. According to various reports, Salman Khan's fee demands for Chak De India caused a disagreement with Aditya Chopra. However, during the Sultan's promotion, Salman Khan finally cleared the air around these speculations and opened up about the real reason behind opting out of the superhit film. The Bajrangi Bhaijaan actor, known for his witty answers, jokingly said, 'I left it because even Shah Rukh Khan should be a part of a few great films." Salman also shared that he had doubts about taking on the role of Kabir Khan, citing concerns that it might not align with his image at the time. 'When I was offered Chak De, my image was totally different as I was doing Partner and all those kinds of films. My only thing in Chak De was that my fans would expect me to wear a wig and win the match for India, which would not go for the film. That was not my genre at that point in time," he revealed. Salman went on to emphasise that it was a more serious film with limited commercial appeal. He said, 'It was a more serious kind of film and I was doing more of a commercial kind of cinema, which I am still doing. I would never move out of the commercial cinema zone, but it is just that there would be a lot of meaningful cinema in the commercial zone." Chak De India, directed by Shimit Amin, was a massive hit in 2007, becoming the second-highest grosser of the year after Om Shanti Om, another SRK blockbuster. First Published:
