'Eenie Meenie' singer Sean Kingston gets sentenced for 3.5 years for fraud scheme
Sean Kingston gets arrested following his mother
Earlier this year, the 35-year-old musician was convicted along with his mother, Janice Turner, on account of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, and on four counts of committing wire fraud. Stealing luxury items, including watches, a television set, and furniture, the crime exceeded USD 1 million, according to the BBC. Moreover, the mother-son duo would send fake receipts to the victims when the payment was due.
Turner was sentenced last month to five years after being convicted of all charges following the five-day trial in March.
Meanwhile, Kingston apologized to the U.S. Judge David Leibowitz before he was sentenced in the South Florida courtroom on Friday, 15 August. Citing that he has learned from his actions, the singer's attorney requested that Kingston self-surrender on the later date. However, the judge denied his request, and the singer in handcuffs was led from the courtroom, according to AP.
About Sean Kingston and his fraudulent receipts
Sean Kingston, born Kisean Paul Anderson, was arrested in 2024 in California, where he was set to perform at an Army training base in the Mojave Desert. The Federal Prosecutors claimed that the 'Beautiful Girls' singer used to reach out to the victims on social media, proclaiming that he wanted to purchase the luxury goods from them and inviting them to his home. Promising to post the items on social media, Kingston also offered to champion the products to other high-profile celebrities.
The key evidence used by the Prosecutors was a text message he sent to his mother as they were discussing creating fake receipts. 'I told you to make [a] fake receipt," he wrote in one, according to CBS.

Veteran actor Mukesh Khanna ruled the small screen in the 1990s with his iconic superhero role in Shaktimaan. So, when it was announced that the cult show would get a big-screen adaptation, fans were naturally excited. However, the film's casting is still under discussion, and reports suggest that the studio is keen on having Ranveer Singh as the lead. 'He can play the villain, not Shaktimaan' In a recent interview with Filmygyan, Mukesh Khanna addressed a fan who suggested that he should let Ranveer Singh take on the superhero's mantle. The veteran actor admitted to liking Ranveer's energy and talent but clarified that he doesn't see him as Shaktimaan. 'You can't change my mind. You like Ranveer Singh, and I like him too. We've sat and talked for three hours, and he's a very energetic actor. But I have openly said to his face, you can play Tamraj Kilvish (the story's villain). His face has a mischievous positivity. This actor — if you tell him to play Shaktimaan, you might enjoy it because he makes you dance, but you need someone mature enough to play Shaktimaan,' Khanna said. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Could This NEW Collagen Blend Finally Reduce Your Cellulite? Rajesh Khanna's alleged girlfriend Anita Advani reveals they fought often, once told him he could have a harem: 'He said, people get married four times, they have so many girlfriends'
Bollywood's first superstar Rajesh Khanna 's personal life has always intrigued fans. He married Dimple Kapadia , who was half his age, in 1973, but the two separated within a few years when Dimple moved out with their daughters, Twinkle and Rinke. Years later, Rajesh 's alleged girlfriend Anita Advani moved into his residence, and they lived together until his death in 2012. Frequent fights and harsh words In a new interview with YouTube channel Meri Saheli, Anita shared insights into her turbulent relationship with the late actor. She revealed that they often fought, and whenever she felt deeply offended, she would leave his house. Recalling one such incident, she said Rajesh once praised another woman in front of her, which left her furious. 'I said, 'Okay then, you be with her'. He said, 'I am just talking about her' but I was extremely mad. He said, 'People get married four times, they have so many girlfriends'. So I said, 'Why girlfriends? You can have a harem. You can do whatever'. We fought a lot and I left,' Anita recalled. Rajesh's reaction after a fight Anita shared that the very next day, while she was attending an event, Rajesh called her repeatedly. 'He said, 'There has been some legal order about Ayodhya and things could get out of control, there could be riots, so you come back to the house now'. I said, 'Then good riddance of bad rubbish. You have so many people to be with so why are you bothered about me?' He said, 'Don't talk rubbish. If something happens to you, I will burn the world down',' she said. Rajesh Khanna's 10th death anniversary: When Dimple Kapadia spoke fondly about her ex-husband: 'We may have separated…' 'We got married privately' In the same interview, Anita claimed she first met Rajesh when she was still in her teens and he was already a superstar. While Rajesh and Dimple never officially divorced, Anita alleged that she and the actor tied the knot privately. 'We got married privately, but in the film industry, no one talks about such things openly. Everyone says 'we're friends' or 'we're in a relationship' or something else. But it was already reported in the media that I was with him, so neither of us felt the need to go and publicly announce that we were married. We never felt that need,' she added.
