Beside his body, investigators discovered two notes, which consisted of three pages of deranged ravings, police sources told
In the handwritten scrawlings, Tamura claimed that he was suffering from a debilitating brain condition and accused the NFL of hiding the dangers of football.
It's believed that Tamura was seeking to target the NFL, which is headquartered in the building that he stormed, New York City Mayor Eric Adams said police told him.
The shooter played football in high school, but it's unclear whether the sport left him with chronic traumatic encephalopathy, which has been found in some pro players who died by suicide.

On the back of one note, an eerie message was printed on the paper that read, "Plan, pause, reflect & flourish," pictures obtained by ABC News captured.
Under that, Tamura wrote "CTE chronic traumatic encephalopathy" and "Study by brain please I'm sorry."
He told investigators to tell someone, "I'm sorry for everything" before giving his computer password.

Tamura was working as a security guard in the surveillance department for the Horshoe hotel and casino when he died.
First responders put him in two mental health crisis holds, once in 2022 and again in 2024, law enforcement sources told the outlet.
Normally, this involves someone being brought to a mental health facility or hospital where medical professionals provide care until the person is no longer considered a danger to themselves or others.

Trial begins for suspects in Moscow concert hall attack that killed 149 people
A trial has begun for 19 defendants accused of involvement in last year's shooting rampage in a Moscow concert hall that killed 149 people and wounded more than 600 others. A faction of the Islamic State group claimed responsibility for the March 22 incident at the Crocus City Hall concert venue in which four gunmen shot people who were waiting for a show by a popular rock band and then set the building on fire. President Vladimir Putin and other Russian officials have claimed, without presenting evidence, that Ukraine had a role in the attack. Kyiv has strongly denied any involvement. Suspects accused of involvement in a terror attack in the Crocus City Hall (Pavel Bednyakov/AP) The Investigative Committee, Russia's top criminal investigation agency, said in June that it concluded that the attack had been 'planned and carried out in the interests of the current leadership of Ukraine in order to destabilise political situation in our country'. It also noted the four suspected gunmen tried to flee to Ukraine afterwards. The four, all identified as citizens of Tajikistan, were arrested hours after the attack and later appeared in a Moscow court with signs of being severely beaten. The committee said earlier this year that six other suspects were charged in absentia and placed on Russia's wanted list for allegedly recruiting and organising the training of the four. Other defendants in the trial were accused of helping them.

Bodies of all five trapped miners found after shaft collapse in Chile
The bodies of all five miners trapped for three days in a collapsed shaft in the world's biggest underground copper mine have been found and identified, an official said. Aquiles Cubillos, the lead prosecutor in Chile's O'Higgins region, said the body of Moises Pavez, the last miner to remain missing, was found at 3.30pm local time by rescue teams. They had drilled through dozens of yards of rock to reach the stranded workers. 'We deeply regret this outcome,' the prosecutor said. The five miners were trapped deep inside Chile's El Teniente mine on Thursday after a section of the mine collapsed following a 4.2 magnitude earthquake that instantly killed another miner and injured nine other workers. Aerial view of El Teniente copper mine (Esteban Felix/AP) The trapped miners were located by using GPS devices but rescue teams were not able to communicate with them. Authorities are investigating whether it was a naturally occurring earthquake or whether mining activity at El Teniente caused the tremor. Chilean prosecutors also launched a criminal investigation to determine whether any safety standards were violated. El Teniente, in the Andes mountains in central Chile, is the world's largest underground copper mine and is owned by Chilean state company Codelco. Shortly after Thursday's collapse, Codelco halted operations in the affected section of the mine and evacuated 3,000 people from the broader site to safe areas. The company cancelled a presentation of its first-half financial results, set for Friday morning, due to the rescue efforts. Chile, the world's biggest copper producer, is in the seismically active Ring of Fire that surrounds the shores of the Pacific Ocean. In 2010, Chile's government rescued 33 miners trapped in a copper mine in the country's north for two months in a dramatic operation that made global headlines and was later depicted in a Hollywood movie.

Rescuers recover bodies of four Chilean miners who were trapped in collapse
The bodies of four out of five miners trapped in a collapsed section of one of Chile's biggest copper mines for three days have been found and identified, an official has said. Rescue workers at the El Teniente mine, about 60 miles south of the capital Santiago, are still looking for the fifth miner, identified as Moises Pavez, mine director Andres Music said.
