Huge EastEnders horror in early BBC release as the police are summoned
This article contains spoilers for tonight's episode of EastEnders, which airs at 7.30pm on BBC One or can be streamed now on iPlayer.
The police have arrived at The Queen Vic – spelling trouble for the landladies.
As viewers have seen recently, Elaine Knight (Harriet Thorpe) has entered self-destruct mode in the wake of her separation from husband George (Colin Salmon).
She decided to cheat on him with a Prince Albert punter after deciding he'd been emotionally unfaithful on numerous occasions with his ex-wives Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) and Sabrina.
Finally snapping, she confessed everything and ordered him out.
This has come as a huge annoyance to her daughter Linda Carter (Kellie Bright), who has been having to run the pub single-handedly, while also trying to maintain a happy and healthy lifestyle for herself in sobriety.
In scenes that have aired this week, George has made it clear that he intends to take half of The Vic in the divorce settlement, something which has only further infuriated Elaine.
Her careless behaviour has continued, however. After handing 5k to Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan Levy) for a singles cruise, she agreed to host Patrick Trueman's (Rudolph Walker) birthday party despite being ridiculously understaffed.
In today's instalment she demanded an extra 80 quid out of Howie Danes (Delroy Atkinson) for the celebration, which was bold and brash and decked out in kitsch decorations – something which Patrick's family hadn't expected.
She then knocked back the booze and joined in the atmosphere, dealing a menacing glare to George when he arrived.
Elaine didn't think twice about handing over a glass of punch to Howie's 16-year old son Denzel (Jaden Ladega) and his mate Joel Marshall (Max Murray), but was unaware when they whipped off with the pitcher jugs instead.

EastEnders fans 'work out' who Nicola Mitchell's sister is after iconic scene
Nicola Mitchell tried to get the family back together in EastEnders as she planned to host half Christmas for the family - but fans think there's one member we don't know about Last night's EastEnders duff duff which saw Nicola Mitchell throw down her Christmas tree in a fit of rage seemed very familiar to fans, as they think they've been sent a major clue on Nicola's 'secret sister'. Nicola joined EastEnders last year - but we haven't heard much of her family outside the Mitchells. However, earlier this year she revealed she was off to Ibiza to see her sibling. Now, fans think they've worked out who it is - and it's someone we know. At the end of yesterday's episode, Nicola went into a fit of rage with Teddy after he shut down her half Christmas Eve advances. "I think you're a nasty, toxic mess of a person Nic," Teddy said, as the two engaged in a fiery argument. It all got too much for Nicola when Teddy said he despised her, as she screamed and threw down the Christmas tree she put up. Some fans however, thought they had seen an eerily similar moment before. In an iconic scene in 2011, which still gets used as a meme to this day, Vanessa Gold trashing Max Branning' s house after discovering his affair with Tanya. During her rampage, she was heard screaming "Bubbly's in the fridge!" while ripping down the curtains - with fans comparing it to Nicola's Christmas tree destruction. Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan posted a picture of both Nicola and Vanessa, along with the caption: "the sister conspiracy theories??? i am on my knees man," with another responding: "Bubbles in the fridge and the Christmas tree moment are so similar, family tempers!" "its in the blood!" exclaimed another, as a fourth wrote: "After Nicola's rage at the end of today's episode, which somewhat resembled the 'bubbly's in the fridge' rage from Vanessa, I was wondering if she could be her secret sister?" Vanessa Gold, who was played by Zöe Lucker, left the soap months later after her partner at the time, Eddie Moon, double-crossed her in a revenge plot against his son Michael. Vanessa believed the pair would leave for Spain together, however he used her for the money and ran. Realising she's left with no one around her, Vanessa walked away in tears, and was never seen again. Could she be back to reunite with Nicola?

Boy George issues sassy message to JK Rowling on live TV after transgender row
Boy George has hit back at Harry Potter author JK Rowling live on ITV's Lorraine following their online feud over her widespread anti-trans commentary Boy George hit back at JK Rowling live on Lorraine this morning, as he addressed their on going social media feud. It comes after the two engaged in a spat on X, following the author's anti-trans commentary. Last week, Boy George called the Harry Potter author a "rich bored bully," leading to a scathing response. She later continued: "For more than half my life I was a regular anonymous person. Some of those years were spent in poverty. That's why I understand the importance of single-sex spaces for women who're reliant on state-funded services," as she continued to speak about her stance against trans-spaces. Addressing the feud on Lorraine this morning, George didn't hold back, as he said: "I think it's hilarious that I'm having a row with someone I've never met and probably never will meet. "In the movies she creates this beautiful magical world and in real life she's a muggle so it's very disappointing to find out that in a way it's not true," The Karma Chameleon singer said live on the ITV morning show. The star then proceeded to address the Harry Potter author, who he believed was watching the show. "I bet she's watching now, morning," he said with a sarcastic wave. He didn't stop there however, as he exclaimed: "Get over it!" Prior to his message to the author, Lorraine praised the star for his support for the transgender community. Speaking on his childhood, George said: "When I was a kid, when I was seven, it was obvious to everyone that I was gay, obviously I didn't know what it was. Parents often know but they don't say anything and think if they don't talk about it, it will go away. "Usually with trans kids, it's the kid that informs the adult through different behaviour. This idea that a parent pushes their kid to be trans is so ridiculous. "I've got friends who've got kids that are trans and it's a nightmare and they struggle; 'should I do the right thing? Should I wait until the kid is eighteen or twenty one,' all of that stuff is real life stuff. It's not two celebrities bickering on the internet.' Lorraine later continued: "Having friends who are trans who are going through a really tough time, let's just be fair, let's talk and we can all have our points of view but at the end of the day we're all just people blundering through and trying to get on with our lives." Earlier this week, Rowling hit back at George's "rich bored bully" comments in a lengthy statement. In part, she said: "There are many differences between us, George, but some are particularly relevant to this debate. "1. You're a man and I'm a woman. 2. You've been wealthy and famous since your early 20s. I didn't become well known until I was well over 30." Later, she continued: "For more than half my life I was a regular anonymous person. Some of those years were spent in poverty. "That's why I understand the importance of single-sex spaces for women who're reliant on state-funded services. That's why I understand why mixed public changing rooms are a problem for women." Boy George isn't the only celebrity to hit out at the author, who has received widespread criticism for her views. Earlier this week, she lashed out at Sir Stephen Fry after he accused her of being "radicalised by TERFs". Fry, who is the narrator for the popular books, previously claimed the author was a "friend of mine" and said he wouldn't "abandon" friendships despite even though his trans friends were "deeply upset" by Rowling. However, he recently called her a 'lost cause' on the podcast The Show People this month. He said: "She has been radicalised, I fear, and it may be she has been radicalised by TERFs, but also by the vitriol that is thrown at her. However, JK Rowling was quick to shut down claims they were ever friends, as she took to X to say: "It is a great mistake to assume that everyone who claims to have been a friend of mine was ever considered a friend by me."
