Cops: Tell us on FB if you witness dangerous driving
Federal police Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Department director Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri said all motorists need to do is to reach out to them via the department's official Facebook page.
"This could be an alternative for motorists to share dashcam footage and images of traffic offenders with us. You can reach us at https://www.facebook.com/JSPTPDRM," he told the New Straits Times today.
Yusri said, ideally, motorists should go to the nearest police station and lodge a report and hand over any evidence they had, be it images or dashcam footage.
"Sharing videos or images with us via the Facebook page would serve as a easier first step to reach us so that we can begin our investigations into any incident brought to our attention.
"If our investigators require, you will still need to come in to have a statement recorded in order to facilitate further investigations," he said.
Meanwhile, the Road Transport Department has advised users to download the MyJPJ application which could be used to channel information or complaints on traffic offenders to them.
The department said complaints could be channeled through the e-Aduan@JPJ feature via the application.
"We also want to remind the public to include complete information on the offence such as the date, time and location where the offence was committed.
"Users can also upload images and videos of the offence here," it said, adding that the department would issue a notice to the alleged offender within 72-hours of receiving a complaint.
It was previously reported that RTD received over 6,000 complaints from the public about errant motorists via the MyJPJ application during the Hari Raya Aidilfitri operations.
RTD director-general Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli was reported saying that a total of 6,687 complaints were received through the mobile application.
The highest number of complaints were for queue cutting, with 1,766 reports, followed by 1,625 complaints for misuse of emergency lanes.

At least five cases of scams involving sale of Singapore National Day parade tickets since July 1
Victims only realised that they had been duped when they did not receive the NDP tickets, or when scammers became uncontactable. - ST FILE SINGAPORE: At least five cases of e-commerce scams involving the sale of National Day Parade (NDP) tickets have been reported since July 1. In these cases, with total losses amounting to about S$250, victims encountered listings of ticket sales via platforms such as Telegram and Facebook, said the police on July 31. When the victims expressed interest to purchase the tickets, they were directed to make payment via PayNow. The victims realised that they had been duped only when they did not receive the tickets, or when scammers became uncontactable. NDP tickets are not for sale, but are instead distributed for free via a balloting system on Singpass. Re-selling of the tickets is strictly prohibited, and action will be taken against those caught scalping or using the tickets for fraudulent purposes, the NDP executive committee has said. Tickets that are obtained via unauthorised channels will be rendered void, and those holding such tickets will be denied entry to the venue, the police added. The NDP in 2025, which celebrates Singapore's 60th birthday, will be held at the Padang on Aug 9. E-commerce was the top scam type in Singapore in 2024, with 11,665 cases reported and at least $17.5 million lost. Members of the public are encouraged to verify the legitimacy of sales listings before making purchases, and to report suspicious cases promptly. To learn more about scams, they can visit or call the ScamShield hotline on 1799. - The Straits Times/ANN

Thailand fireworks factory blast kills nine
The factory ignited around 11am in Mueang district of Suphan Buri province, north of Bangkok. - Photo: SUPHAN BURI PROVINCIAL PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICE/Facebook BANGKOK: At least nine people died and two others were injured in a fireworks factory explosion in central Thailand on Wednesday (July 30), police told AFP, as officers continued to search for casualties. The factory ignited around 11am (0400 GMT) in Mueang district of Suphan Buri province, north of Bangkok, where images shared by a rescue group showed a charred building reduced to rubble. Thai police said nine people were confirmed dead -- up from an earlier toll of four -- and two others were being treated at a nearby hospital. "We are trying to identify the cause of the blast," local police chief Wanchai Khaoram told AFP. Factory fires are common in Thailand, where enforcement of safety regulations remain weak. Last year, an explosion at another firework factory in the same province killed at least 23 people. - AFP
