Rush Hour 4: Jackie Chan Gives Hopeful Update on Sequel
Jackie Chan recently spoke to ScreenRant at a red carpet event for his upcoming movie, Karate Kids: Legends, where he talked about the much-anticipated Rush Hour 4.
While Chan urged the makers of Rush Hour 4 to accelerate development on the movie, he also admitted that he was unaware of its current status, saying, 'I don't know. Ask the director, ask the studio, ask the writer. Hurry up! Otherwise, Chris Tucker and me [will be] 100 years old. We'll be old men doing Rush Hour.'
The interviewer further asked him if he wanted to do the project. To this, Chan responded affirmatively and shared the list of movies he would like to do. He said, 'Yes! And I want to do [another] Shanghai Knights, Shanghai Dawn. Shangai Noon, Shanghai Knights, and Shanghai Dawn. The script is still going on. I want to do a Rush Hour 4.'
In 2023, Tucker, who plays James Carter in the franchise, also teased the project and expressed his excitement to work with Chan. He asserted, ''Rush Hour 4,' that's something I definitely will probably drop in there because I love working with Jackie, but I've got some new stuff that I think you're really gonna like. I'm excited about it.' (via Variety)
All three Rush Hour movies were directed by Brett Ratner, but his return to the director's seat for the potential fourth part is uncertain. Ratner is reported to have stepped away from Hollywood in 2018 following a series of misconduct allegations.

Tom Brady Puts Super Bowl Rings on Display at ‘Hall of Excellence' in Vegas, Ahead of New NFL Season
If you purchase an independently reviewed product or service through a link on our website, Variety may receive an affiliate commission. Oprah Winfrey, Morgan Freeman and Snoop Dogg are among the celebrity narrators lending their voices to the Hall of Excellence, a new sports memorabilia museum that's popped up at Fontainebleau Las Vegas. More from Variety Apple Watch Series 10: How to Get the Smartwatch With New Blood Oxygen Tracking Feature Online The Best Ergonomic Desk Chairs for Back-To-School and Dorm Life UFC 319 Livestream: How to Watch Du Plessis vs. Chimaev MMA Fight Live Online SEE ROOMS & RATES AT FONTAINEBLEAU VEGAS Created in partnership with Super Bowl champion Tom Brady along with legendary sportscaster Jim Gray and his wife Frann Vettor-Gray, the Hall of Excellence features two large rooms of uniforms, sneakers, accessories and other sporting gear worn by some of the biggest athletes of all time. Ticket stubs, programs, game-day balls and rare artwork also line the display cases, which all lead towards a grandiose Trophy Room, where the Vince Lombardi Trophy, Heisman Trophy, MLB Commissioners Trophy and NBA Larry O'Brien Championship Trophy are among the laurels on view. In fact, almost all the major sporting event trophies are available to view at the Hall, including college trophies and Olympic gold medals. Seven-time Super Bowl champ Brady has his own section, that features all seven of his Super Bowl rings, along with a brief description of each game-winning moment. Visitors can also listen to Brady narrate the story behind each ring as part of the exhibit's audio tour. The Hall's main self-guided tour is narrated by Academy Award winner Freeman, while Winfrey, Snoop Dogg, Marv Albert and others, each narrate a different exhibit. It isn't just sports either: Winfrey's Presidential Medal of Freedom and 2016 Tony Award for 'The Color Purple' revival are also on display, as is Clint Eastwood's 1993 Oscar for 'Unforgiven.' Other highlights include the bat used by Jackie Robinson to break baseball's color barrier in 1947; Michael Jordan's first pair of Air Jordans; Muhammad Ali's robe and gloves from his fight versus George Chuvalo in 1966; a golf ball used by Tiger Woods during his first Masters victory; and the Washington Capitals jersey worn by Alexander Ovechkin the night he tied Wayne Gretzky's NHL scoring record earlier this year. There is also a collection of golf balls and baseballs signed by President Trump, Joe Biden, Barack Obama and a number of other U.S. Presidents dating back to Woodrow Wilson. Worth noting: women's sports and female athletes are also well-represented among the more than 300 items on display. Pieces include dresses worn by Serena Williams and Billie Jean King, a leotard worn by Simone Biles and the Las Vegas Aces WNBA Championship rings from 2022 and 2023. Brady helped to put many of these items together, drawing from his and Gray's personal collections and tapping into his network of friends and former teammates. 'The Hall of Excellence is about more than preserving history – it is about celebrating the relentless pursuit of greatness,' the NFL star says in a release. 'So much of this memorabilia represents the incredible journey that I, like so many others, have been fortunate enough to experience. Artifacts like these do not belong hidden away, they should be shared with the fans who were along for the journey with us.' Fontainebleau Las Vegas, meantime, says the items represent a 'carefully curated collection of exclusive and extraordinary artifacts,' with Chairman and CEO of Fontainebleau Development, Jeffrey Soffer, calling it a 'first-hand look at history through the eyes of the world's most beloved athletes and entertainers.' The Hall of Excellence is open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Admission costs $35 per person and tickets are available here. Brady, meantime, is back for another season as part of the 'NFL on FOX' broadcast team. The NFL star joined the FOX broadcast booth as a lead game analyst last year.

Layoffs Hit ‘BioShock' Development Team Amid Delays; Rod Fergusson Named New Head of 2K Studio Cloud Chamber
Cloud Chamber, the 2K Games-owned studio behind 'BioShock 4,' is undergoing a round of layoffs amid delays for the upcoming game and a shakeup in leadership. 2K, a subsidiary of video game publishing giant Take-Two Interactive, has tapped Rod Fergusson as the new leader for the developer and its 'BioShock' franchise, Variety has confirmed. Most recently, Fergusson was general manager of the 'Diablo' franchise at Microsoft's Blizzard, where he launched 'Diablo IV.' More from Variety NBA, Take-Two Form New Media Company to 'Celebrate' Basketball, Extend Long-Standing Games Pact 2K Motion Capture Studio Workers File for Unionization 'Bioshock' Film Adaptation Still in the Works With Scaled Down Budget; It's a 'More Personal' Movie, Says Producer Roy Lee Fergusson takes over the studio following the ousting of Kelley Gilmore, which as Bloomberg's Jason Schreier reported earlier this month, came amid internal complaints regarding the narrative direction of the upcoming 'BioShock' game. As Gilmore was removed from the top posiiton at Cloud Chamber, 2K also moved the game's creative director, Hogarth de la Plante, into a publishing role. In an internal memo, which was provided to Variety by 2K on Tuesday, 2K Games president David Ismailer announced the pending layoffs to staffers: 'Work on the next BioShock game has been underway for several years. While we're excited about the foundational gameplay elements of the project, we've made the decision with studio leadership to rework certain aspects that are core to a BioShock game, and in doing so are reducing the size of the development team to focus on this work and give the game more time in development.' Representatives for 2K declined to comment on how many roles are being impacted in the layoffs. 'As Head of the BioShock Franchise, Rod will lead Cloud Chamber and oversee the development of the next BioShock game, as well as franchise extensions including our film partnership with Netflix,' Ismailer wrote. 'We will share more about Rod's onboarding and how these changes will take shape in the coming days and weeks. Rod and I worked together 10+ years ago and I am grateful he has chosen to return to lead our BioShock efforts.' The third and most recent 'BioShock' game, 'BioShock Infinite,' was released in 2013 and made by developer Irrational Games. 'BioShock 4' has been in the works at 2K's Cloud Chamber for more than a decade. Read the memo to staff from Ismailer in full below. Team – BioShock is woven deeply into the fabric of 2K. It's one of our most beloved franchises and respecting its legacy and meeting our fans' expectations is critical to its future success. Work on the next BioShock game has been underway for several years. While we're excited about the foundational gameplay elements of the project, we've made the decision with studio leadership to rework certain aspects that are core to a BioShock game, and in doing so are reducing the size of the development team to focus on this work and give the game more time in development. I know this is tough news for everyone. If your role is being affected, you'll hear from your manager or studio leadership today with details on severance, career services and support resources. There is no easy way to do this, but we hope to do whatever we can to support you through this. I want to thank each of you for your dedication and hard work. I also want to share an important studio leadership update. After an extensive search, I'm excited to announce Rod Fergusson will be leading Cloud Chamber as the new Head of the BioShock Franchise. Rod is an industry veteran with a proven history of critical and commercial success, including BioShock Infinite, Gears of War, and Diablo. Rod rejoins us from Blizzard, where he was GM of the Diablo franchise and launched Diablo IV – Blizzard's fastest-selling game ever. As Head of the BioShock Franchise, Rod will lead Cloud Chamber and oversee the development of the next BioShock game, as well as franchise extensions including our film partnership with Netflix. We will share more about Rod's onboarding and how these changes will take shape in the coming days and weeks. Rod and I worked together 10+ years ago and I am grateful he has chosen to return to lead our BioShock efforts. I recognize that today is a day of mixed emotions. We're excited to have Rod joining us, and are equally grateful to everyone at Cloud Chamber who has helped us get this far. These changes are rooted in 2K's firm confidence in BioShock as one of the most beloved franchises, and our commitment to deliver the best game in franchise history.
