Vince Vaughn gets star on Hollywood Walk of Fame
Acting legend Vince Vaughn, joined by his family and actor Mel Gibson, was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Vince Vaughn is crashing the internet after a photo posted by The White House.
The "Wedding Crashers" alum, who played a Washington, D.C. divorce mediation attorney that crashed weddings to meet women opposite Owen Wilson in the 2005 film, is seemingly starring in a new role: visitor of President Donald Trump.
On Friday, the official White House Instagram account shared an apparent photo of Trump with the "Delivery Man" star at the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office. The shot was a spoofy movie poster inspired by the 2005 cult favorite.
"White House Crashers," the poster read with "President Donald J. Trump & Vince Vaughn in the Oval Office" as the caption. USA TODAY reached out to reps for Vaughn for comment.

Vaughn and Trump have been pictured together previously. In 2020, a viral video showed Vaughn chatting with Trump at the national championship football game.
The video showed Vaughn sitting in box seats next to First Lady Melania Trump and the president. In the 31-second clip, Vaughn and the president spoke before shaking hands and then waving goodbye.
Both the Trumps and Vaughn smiled when the actor walked away. But later, he walked back the run-in during a 2020 profile in The Los Angeles Times.
"In my career I've met a lot of politicians who I've always been cordial to; I've met Nancy Pelosi and was cordial to her as well," Vaughn told the LA Times, adding that "it was the only time I've ever met him. We said hello. He was very personable. I didn't get into policies."
"I think people are more charged than ever about these things," Vaughn continued. "But I don't think most people take that stuff as seriously as the small percentage that's making noise about it."
He added: "I was raised with the idea that you could have different likes and beliefs, and you should respect and defend that in other people, not shout it down. The people you disagree with the most, you should stand up for their right to do that."

Bella Thorne Proposes To Boyfriend, And Women Hate It

Bella Thorne unintentionally pissed a lot of people off by getting down on one knee for her boyfriend-turned-fiancé, Mark Emms. On Saturday, the former Disney Channel star shared a surprising carousel on her Instagram. She captioned the post, "3 years ago we met, 1 year later he proposed, now 1 year later so did I." It was shocking to fans for two reasons: Not only was she showing herself proposing to Mark, but they were even more confused about the action because Mark had already popped the question to her in May 2023. Bella's IG post kicked off with a short clip of her literally getting down on one knee. Not long after, Mark also joined her on one knee, as she asked him to marry her while presenting him with his very own engagement ring. The mood was set with white and red flowers and lit candles spread out throughout the room. The second video showed a different angle of the proposal, where we see an up-close shot of the initial shock on Mark's face and him later breaking down into tears. It was then followed by the after, including a sweet embrace, as well as photos of the decor. And it ended with photos of them together, celebrating the reality that they both wanted to do a grand gesture to profess their love for each other. Well, the romantic moment was clouded by comments from people who were completely turned off by Bella proposing to a man: But there were also people who respected her decision and wanted others to do the same: Bella noticed the comments, but she didn't take them to heart. In fact, she thought it was funny how "split down the middle" the responses were. "Half of u are like let's not normalize proposing to your partner –– other half is like fuck yeah girl power this is the sweetest!!" she wrote on her Instagram Story. Margaret Cho blasts Dean Cain over ICE career: ‘You're not even white'

Superman may stand for truth, justice and the American way, but Margaret Cho has a different way to describe Dean Cain, the actor who once played him: 'dumbass.' 'Why would you join ICE and encourage people to join ICE when your ancestors were interned in World War II?' the San Francisco comic asked in a video shared with her 347,000 followers on Instagram on Aug. 8, addressing Cain directly. 'You're Japanese. You're not even white.' Cain, who is of Japanese descent on his father's side, is best known for his portrayal of the Man of Steel in the 1990s series 'Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman,' opposite Palo Alto native Teri Hatcher. He first shared his plans to join the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency while promoting recruitment for the agency on Instagram earlier this month. 'You're never gonna be white, no matter how racist you are, no matter how wrong you act.' Cho continued. 'You're always Wong, never white. Dumbass.' Cho isn't the only one to criticize Cain for his decision. The former onscreen superhero received immediate backlash from fans after sharing his initial video, during which he lauded ICE for arresting 'hundreds of thousands of criminals.' He justified the move with his personal background, explaining that 'I'm a sworn law enforcement officer, as well as being a filmmaker, and I felt it was important to join with our first responders to help secure the safety of all Americans.' Cain added that he will be sworn in as an honorary ICE agent in the coming weeks. Born Dean George Tanaka, he previously denied claims of masking his Japanese heritage in a July interview with Variety, noting that despite growing up disconnected from that side of his family, he is proud of it. 'Tanaka is my given name,' Cain said. 'It's funny that people are like, 'Well, you tried to hide that.' It's tattooed on my ankle.' He also acknowledged that his family was interned in the Minidoka War Relocation Center in Idaho during World War II. 'That was a horrible injustice,' he said. 'But I don't think that I deserve any sort of reparations.' Cain has been a vocal supporter of President Donald Trump for years, promoting the administration's 'anti-woke' agenda and even blasting director James Gunn for describing the hero as an 'immigrant' while promoting 'Superman,' his latest take on the character with David Corenswet in the title role. Cho, the daughter of Korean immigrants, has become known for her candid social commentary since rising onto the scene in the early 1980s. While her views are oftentimes expressed through her comedy, she has also been known to speak out during interviews and on social media. Earlier this year, she opened up about the long-running tensions between her and fellow comic Ellen DeGeneres, detailing their strained relationship over the decades. Cho is set to return to the Bay Area on May 29, for a performance at the Palace of Fine Arts as part of her Choligarchy Tour, which she claims will be her 'most blistering and brutally honest show yet.'

Zelenskyy delivers letter from his wife to first lady Melania Trump: 'Many thanks'

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy hand-delivered a letter from his own wife for Melania Trump and commended the American first lady her advocacy for children amid Russia's war with Ukraine. The letter came a day after it was revealed that Melania Trump penned a letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin that spoke generally about the need to protect children, and Donald Trump hand-delivered it to the Russian leader during their Aug. 15 meeting. The letter does not specifically mention Ukraine. The Ukrainian government estimates that nearly 20,000 children were unlawfully deported or transferred from Ukraine and alleges that Russia uses tactics such as "taking children from orphanages, killing parents, splitting families during filtration processes, creating unbearable living conditions in occupied areas, and brazenly kidnapping children from their homes and schools." "Many thanks to your wife, the first lady of the United States," Zelenskyy told President Trump in the Oval Office on Monday, Aug. 18. He then handed Trump a white envelope that he said contained a letter from his wife, Olena Zelenska. "It's not to you, it's to your wife," Zelenskyy said as Trump began to examine it. "I want it," Trump replied while laughing. Zelenskyy characterized Melania Trump's letter as one "about our children, abducted children," which he described as a "sensitive topic." The International Criminal Court has indicted Putin for the unlawful deportation and transfer of children. "In today's world, some children are forced to carry a quiet laughter, untouched by the darkness around them-- a silent defiance against the forces that can potentially claim their future," Melania Trump wrote in her letter, which USA TODAY obtained. "Mr. Putin, you can singlehandedly restore their melodic laughter." Addressing a question from a reporter, Donald Trump said Melania Trump has a great love of children and has "watched the same things that I watched and you watched." "She hates to see something like this happening," he said. Contributing: Sarah D. Wire and Francesca Chambers, USA TODAY
