The White House posts photo of Vince Vaughn, Trump together in Oval Office Show Caption Hide Caption Vince Vaughn gets star on Hollywood Walk of Fame Acting legend Vince Vaughn, joined by his family and actor Mel Gibson, was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Vince Vaughn is crashing the internet after a photo posted by The White House. The "Wedding Crashers" alum, who played a Washington, D.C. divorce mediation attorney that crashed weddings to meet women opposite Owen Wilson in the 2005 film, is seemingly starring in a new role: visitor of President Donald Trump. On Friday, the official White House Instagram account shared an apparent photo of Trump with the "Delivery Man" star at the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office. The shot was a spoofy movie poster inspired by the 2005 cult favorite. "White House Crashers," the poster read with "President Donald J. Trump & Vince Vaughn in the Oval Office" as the caption. USA TODAY reached out to reps for Vaughn for comment. Vince Vaughn makes rare appearance with children at Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony Vaughn and Trump have been pictured together previously. In 2020, a viral video showed Vaughn chatting with Trump at the national championship football game. The video showed Vaughn sitting in box seats next to First Lady Melania Trump and the president. In the 31-second clip, Vaughn and the president spoke before shaking hands and then waving goodbye. Both the Trumps and Vaughn smiled when the actor walked away. But later, he walked back the run-in during a 2020 profile in The Los Angeles Times. "In my career I've met a lot of politicians who I've always been cordial to; I've met Nancy Pelosi and was cordial to her as well," Vaughn told the LA Times, adding that "it was the only time I've ever met him. We said hello. He was very personable. I didn't get into policies." "I think people are more charged than ever about these things," Vaughn continued. "But I don't think most people take that stuff as seriously as the small percentage that's making noise about it." He added: "I was raised with the idea that you could have different likes and beliefs, and you should respect and defend that in other people, not shout it down. The people you disagree with the most, you should stand up for their right to do that." Contributing: Patrick Ryan and Hannah Yasharoff, USA TODAY

Vince Vaughn Visits Donald Trump and Gets the Parody Treatment on Official POTUS Account: 'White House Crashers'
Vince Vaughn visited Donald Trump at the White House in Washington, D.C., on April 18 The official POTUS and White House Instagram accounts marked the occasion with a post parodying Vaughn's 2005 comedy The actor and the president have spent time together in the past After Vince Vaughn spent time in Washington, D.C., with President Donald Trump, the White House documented his visit by parodying one of the actor's most popular films. On Friday, April 18, the official POTUS and White House Instagram accounts shared a joint post featuring a snapshot of the vocally Libertarian actor, 55, and the president, 78, in the Oval Office together. The shot was edited into a faux movie poster inspired by Wedding Crashers. "White House Crashers," the poster reads in a font similar to one used on the artwork for the 2005 buddy comedy flick, with Trump taking the place of Vaughn's costar Owen Wilson. 'President Donald J. Trump & Vince Vaughn in the Oval Office 🇺🇸,' the White House wrote in the post's caption. Wedding Crashers follows Wilson, 55, and Vaughn as divorce mediators who spend their free time crashing wedding receptions in order to meet women. It also stars Isla Fisher, Rachel McAdams, Christopher Walken, Bradley Cooper and more. However, the White House did not formally list Vaughn's visit on the president's schedule for reporters, according to The Hill. Vaughn and Trump were first spotted together at a college football national championship game back in January 2020, during the president's first term. The pair shook hands during their time together, and a rep for the actor later clarified to PEOPLE that they did not attend the championship with one another, but rather 'met this evening at the game briefly.' Months after the duo's headline-making exchange led to some serious backlash, the Dodgeball actor attempted to clear the air in an interview with The Los Angeles Times, explaining that he is 'cordial' to any politician he meets, regardless of their party or policies. "In my career I've met a lot of politicians who I've always been cordial to; I've met Nancy Pelosi and was cordial to her as well," Vaughn told the newspaper. "It was the only time I've ever met him. We said hello. He was very personable. I didn't get into policies." I was raised with the idea that you could have different likes and beliefs and you should respect and defend that in other people, not shout it down. After he was asked about whether he identifies as a libertarian, the star said, 'Yes, I definitely am a believer more in allowing individuals to make choices. So I think that drugs should be legal and people should have guns.' Read the original article on People

‘White House Crashers': Vince Vaughn visits Oval Office
Actor Vince Vaughn became the latest celebrity to visit President Trump in the Oval Office on Friday, creating a moment of levity for the White House social media team. The official White House account on the social media platform X posted a mock movie poster featuring a photo of Vaughn and Trump at the Resolute Desk with the title 'White House Crashers,' in a nod to Vaughn's starring role in the 2005 comedy 'Wedding Crashers.' The White House didn't formally list Vaughn's visit on the president's schedule for reporters. In a New York Times Magazine profile last year, Vaughn acknowledged he's a libertarian and described himself as a 'believer more in allowing individuals to make choices.' 'I'd rather say let people make their choices, and they can make different choices and have the consequences of their choices,' he said of his political views. Vaughn, 55, and Trump have been friendly in the past. They were spotted together at the 2020 College Football Playoff (CFP) Championship Game in New Orleans, but Vaughn later said the public reaction was overblown and he had only met Trump at the game. 'In my career I've met a lot of politicians who I've always been cordial to,' he told the Los Angeles Times in an interview later that year. 'I don't have a party that I support and endorse. In fact, for me sometimes it's difficult to find a candidate that you feel is philosophically consistent and not just going along with whoever is funding their particular party.' It's unclear why Vaughn was with Trump on Friday. The White House didn't immediately respond to The Hill's request for additional information. Trump has hosted an eclectic assortment of popular athletes, conservative celebrities and other notable figures at the White House since returning to office in January.

Is Vince Vaughn a Trump supporter? His White House visit raises questions
Actor Vince Vaughn is once again the subject of political discussion following his visit to the White House, where he met with President Donald Trump. The official White House account shared a photo of the two together in the Oval Office, jokingly dubbing them the 'White House Crashers,' a nod to Vaughn's popular 2005 comedy Wedding Crashers. This recent meeting has reignited debate over Vaughn's political leanings, which have been a topic of public interest since 2020. That year, the actor was seen speaking with then-President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump at the College Football Playoff National Championship, sparking a wave of mixed reactions online. In response to the backlash, Vaughn clarified in an interview with the Los Angeles Times that he does not endorse Trump. He identified himself as a libertarian and noted that the only political candidate he has ever supported is Ron Paul. He emphasized that his interactions with politicians, including Democratic strategist James Carville at the same event, were brief and nonpartisan. Vaughn's political views have long leaned libertarian. In a 2015 interview with British GQ, he voiced strong support for Second Amendment rights and criticized gun control measures. He controversially argued that guns should be allowed in schools as a deterrent to mass shootings. While Vaughn's recent White House visit appears to have been lighthearted, it has once again placed his political beliefs under public scrutiny. As with past appearances, the actor maintains that his views prioritize individual freedoms and limited government involvement.
