Ryan Gosling is set to star in 'Project Hail Mary', a film directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, who've also spearheaded the acclaimed Spider-Verse animated movies. An adaptation of Andy Weir's novel of the same name, the upcoming film sees Ryan Gosling star as Ryland Grace, a middle-school teacher who finds himself on a spaceship with no memories of how he made it there. Finding himself on a sudden mission to save his planet Earth from impending catastrophe, Ryland's plight takes another turn when he encounters an alien, who's on a mission of its own. Project Hail Mary's trailer shows a dying sun
Project Hail Mary's trailer shows the Earth as a planet in existential danger because the sun is dying. This impending cataclysm is part of a pattern of events, with multiple stars dying out because of a mysterious infection spreading through the galaxy. Because of Rylan Grace's doctorate in molecular biology, he gets uprooted from his job as a middle school teacher and is inducted into the desperate, last-ditch mission to save the sun from dying, a plan he characterizes as a 'hail mary'.
However, while he's willing to offer his knowledge and expertise in the project, he grows reluctant to actually go out in space and investigate the matter directly, with him emphatically stating he's not an astronaut. His amnesiac awakening aboard a spacecraft is implied to be the project's attempt to force his hand. With no choice but to see his mission to its conclusion, Ryland takes command of the spacecraft, only to unexpectedly encounter an alien during his space travels, who he develops a friendship with. Actor turned politician Pawan Kalyan's film Hari Hara Veera Mallu: Part 1 -- Sword vs Spirit is all set to make its OTT debut soon. The film, originally released in theatres last month, received mixed reviews. It saw an impressive opening business at the ticket window; however, the buzz around the film faded within the first week. For those who missed watching Hari Hara Veera Mallu in theatres, here's a second chance to watch it. The film will be available online soon. Reportedly, Amazon Prime Video have acquired the streaming rights of the Pawan Kalyan-starrer. Hari Hara Veera Mallu was reportedly set to release on 15 August initially. However, the recent reports suggest that fans who want to watch the film from the comfort of their homes have to wait a bit longer. Reportedly, the film's OTT release has been pushed due to the theatrical release of Rajinikanth's Coolie. According to a report by One India, the OTT release of Hari Hara Veera Mallu has been pushed back for strategic reasons. Citing sources in the industry hint, the report claimed that the decision could be linked to the overwhelming hype around Rajinikanth's upcoming Tamil film Coolie. Coolie will be hitting theatres on August 14, 2025. Owing to the superstar's unmatched fan following and the film's expected blockbuster run at the box office, streaming platforms may be holding off on the premiere to avoid competing with the film's theatrical release. Koimoi claimed that Hari Hara Veera Mallu might now debut on the OTT platform sometime between August 21 and August 28, 2025. However, Amazon Prime Video has yet to confirm an official date in both cases. Hari Hara Veera Mallu: Part 1 -- Sword vs Spirit is directed by Krish. However, he walked out of the film midway. Later, the project was finished by AM Rathnam's son, Jyothi Krisna. Besides Pawan Kalyan in the lead, the film also stars Nidhhi Agerwal, Sathyaraj and Bobby Deol. Hari Hara Veera Mallu is a two-part film. The second part is titled Hari Hara Veera Mallu: Part 2 – Battlefield (Yuddhabhoomi in Telugu). The film was re-released in theatres after chopping off some scenes in the climax and reducing the total runtime.
