'My kids aren't well but I need to be here' says German Oasis fan in Cardiff for first gig

A hardcore Oasis fan who has followed the band since the mid-nineties has said he had to be at their first gig in Cardiff as the band "changed his life". Alex Schütz has travelled from Germany for today's show and has "always loved" the band, having followed them since 1995.
Mr Schütz is one of thousands of fans gathering capital for one of the most historic days in the band's history this evening. Liam and Noel Gallagher will officially reunite on stage at the Principality Stadium this evening in a moment that has been 16 years in the making.
The eyes of the world will be on the Welsh capital today as the legendary Mancunian brothers perform together for the first time since 2009. They will also play at the stadium on Saturday night.
Speaking to WalesOnline outside the ground, Mr Schütz said: 'I never thought they'd get back together, I only hope that it isn't because of the money!
'I'm looking forward to seeing them but really it's the overall atmosphere surrounding the gig that I'm most excited for!'
'Last night I went to Tiny Rebel and a couple of other bars in Cardiff. In the end there was a group of us Oasis fans from Germany, Argentine and Norway, coming together for the band.

'This is more than just a gig to me. It's so hard to describe, Oasis changed my life.
'My wife is at home with my twin boys who one year old. The boys aren't well but I told them I need to be here.
'Live Forever is my favourite song. I think they'll play it but I'm looking forward to being surprised, I'm not checking the set lists!
'I've been in Cardiff before for Liam Gallagher at the Motorpoint.
"I really like Cardiff. I think it's very good they started the tour here because you can feel the vibe.
'London is too big, hype would vanish into the city.
'I am going to both nights here.
'I wanted to go to Manchester but it's my wife's 40th so I'm going back home then coming back for two nights in Wembley.'

Speaking during an appearance on BBC Radio 5 Live, Coady said: "When I signed, he [Ryan] sent me a video and Rob messaged me. It was amazing just to get a message to say, 'Welcome to the club.' I got a WhatsApp from an American number which I thought was a bit strange. "I sat on the couch with my missus watching it and it was a video of Ryan. I was really starstruck and he was just welcoming me to the club and saying how good it is to have me, what we want to do as a club and how we want to go forward." Coady joked that he was taken aback by Reynolds' height when speaking to him in person. He added: "Meeting him for the first time, he's quite a big fella. I said he can play centre half with me, and he said he's never played football in his life. "He's a really lovely man. What he's done for Wrexham, and what Rob has done for Wrexham, I think it's incredible to see where they're at now." Reynolds and Mac, who recently applied to legally change his surname from McElhenney, have transformed Wrexham's fortunes since buying them in February 2021. The club has achieved promotion in each of the last three seasons, most recently in April taking them from the National League into the Championship under manager Phil Parkinson. While the owners insist on leaving football matters to the playing staff, they have received a large amount of praise for their approach to running the club. And Coady believes the A-listers' humility is key to Wrexham's success. "I think what goes under the radar a bit is the trust they've put in people," he said. "They give so much trust to the people at the top end of our club, which I think has been absolutely fantastic over the years. That's a big reason why the club is where they're at today, because they give so much trust in the gaffer. "I saw them do an interview the other day, and they said, 'We don't get involved with the football.' I thought the interview was outstanding. They said, 'We tell a story about the club,' and I love that, because they're getting the story of Wrexham out there. "It's an amazing story so why not tell that story? And what better people to tell the story of Wrexham than Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds?" Wrexham have so far failed to register any points in their first Championship campaign in 43 years. They started the season with a 2-1 defeat away at Southampton, followed by last weekend's 3-2 loss at home to West Brom.
