The Triple Threat qualifying match featured Stark, Rhea Ripley, and the returning Kairi Sane. All three women were fighting hard for a chance to be in the women's Money in the Bank ladder match, which is scheduled for June 7, 2025, where the winner gets a future title shot.
During the May 19th WWE Raw contest, Stark landed badly on her leg after trying a springboard dropkick. WWE officials took her out of the match because she was hurt and could not continue.
Dave Meltzer later discussed what the original plans for the match might have been before Stark's injury and how Stark's injury likely affected the match's outcome.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer said that Sane's return match was not supposed to end with her being pinned. He stated, "So Sane (was pinned in) her first match back, which obviously wasn't the plan."

Meltzer added, "They had no choice, they had to do what they had to do." Bryan Alvarez, also from Wrestling Observer Radio, further said that the first plan was for Zoey Stark to be the one who was pinned in the match to protect Sane in her return.
Instead, due to the injury, Ripley was the one who won the important match. She pinned Sane to get her spot in the women's Money in the Bank ladder match.
After the show, Ripley went on X to talk about Stark's injury. She shared a message with WWE fans about how dangerous professional wrestling can be for the performers.

Ripley wrote, "Professional wrestling can be very real and dangerous... Tonight continued to prove that anything can happen." She also sent her best wishes to her fellow wrestler, saying, "Wishing @ZoeyStarkWWE a speedy recovery! 🖤"
This isn't the first serious injury for Stark during her time in WWE. She previously had a major knee injury, where she tore her ACL and meniscus, at an NXT Halloween Havoc event back in 2021.
At that time, Stark herself confirmed how bad the knee injury was. She had said she had torn her ACL, MCL and PCL.

Goldberg Provides Concerning Update Ahead Of WWE Retirement Match
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg is navigating an intense and challenging preparation for his final match under the WWE banner, providing candid updates on his CarCast podcast. He revealed he knows the undisclosed date for his 2025 retirement but is facing significant physical hurdles at age 58. "I know the date (of my retirement match). No one else knows the date public-wise," Goldberg stated (H/T to Fightful). He described the unique undertaking: "And so, at my age, you obviously have to do a lot of different things to get yourself prepared for what I'm about to embark upon... it's uncharted water because not many people my age have done this." His goal is to deliver a performance true to his legacy. "I'm not just showing up to show up. I need to show up and be me and I've tapped into me a little bit more as of late." However, the path has been fraught with difficulties. "...my training, with all injuries and with my age, it makes it extremely difficult to get prepared without going overboard... I hurt myself a couple times in the past three months. But, I pulled back," he admitted. Goldberg emphasized the struggle to balance his warrior mentality with his body's current limitations, especially during Muay Thai training. "It's really tough to have the mentality I do but to have the body that I do now, with the mileage on it... There's a huge balance." LAS VEGAS, NV - JULY 08: Bill Goldberg speaks at the roundtable panel during HISTORY's Live Event 'Evel Live' at Omnia Nightclub at Caesars Palace on July 8, 2018 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Despite the toughness, there have been positive moments. "I've been in the ring a couple times. I'm gonna get in the ring again today and it's just tough... Me doing that right there, that was the first day that I felt really good," he shared. Goldberg also discussed the "unrealistic" high bar he sets for himself and the challenges of gaining "good weight." "I eat eight times a day... I was almost up to 270 and I had to back off because I could not function. I felt horrible," he recounted, explaining he has since adjusted his diet. He is determined to impress in his farewell. "Man, I'm never gonna be the way that I used to be by any stretch of the imagination. But dammit, for a 58-year-old guy, I'm gonna be in some seriously awesome shape and I'm gonna freak some people out I believe," Goldberg stated. More news: WWE News: Steve Austin Reveals Real-Life Vince McMahon Confrontation He even hinted at a potential change to his iconic ring attire: "I'm terrified to put those underwear, those trunks on again. I may even go with different kind of trunks, for the only time in my life." The WWE legend is also managing existing injuries. "I'm extremely limited because of my left knee. I can't run... it hurts," he said, noting he uses a sprint bike for cardio. He's also rehabbing a right shoulder that has troubled him for five years: "Hell, I'm working around my shoulder that... six months ago, I couldn't do this (lift my arm). I'm pretty strong now... I haven't been able to use my arm for five years... and I've had to retrain myself to do the normal, daily things." Goldberg's final WWE match is widely expected to take place "in the South," with considerable speculation pointing to the Saturday Night's Main Event on July 12, 2025, at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia—a city with deep personal and professional ties for him. Jonas Brother Cast as Paul Stanley of KISS in New Biopic
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek's network of contributors If you're going to make a rock biopic and you need to cast the frontman, you may as well get a singer to play a singer. Deadline reports that's exactly what's happened with the upcoming biopic of the glam rock band KISS. Nick Jonas of Jonas Brothers fame has been cast as KISS frontman Paul Stanley in the upcoming biopic about the band, "Shout It Out Loud". The film is directed by McG from a script by Darren Lemke. McG is best remembered as the director of the 2003 sequel "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle" and 2009's "Terminator Salvation". Read More: Original 'Harry Potter' Actor to Join Hit 'Cursed Child' Broadway Play "Shout It Out Loud" is scheduled to go into production either by the end of this year or early in 2026. Paul Stanley of KISS performs during KISS: End of the Road World Tour at Madison Square Garden on December 01, 2023 in New York City. Paul Stanley of KISS performs during KISS: End of the Road World Tour at Madison Square Garden on December 01, 2023 in New York says that Jonas will be doing his own singing for the film, but that he'll be going through some training in order to more accurately sound like Stanley. The site also reports that McG is getting close to finding a star who can play perhaps the most famous member of KISS, Gene Simmons. While KISS is a four-man group, Stanley and Simmons have been the only consistent members over the years, with the rest of the lineup changing a number of times since the band's formation in the seventies. First getting together in 1973, KISS is less known for its music and better remembered for its theatrics. Their performances were known for their pyrotechnics, fire breathing, blood spitting, levitating drum kits, and more. The band members wear face paint and take on the roles of fantastic characters like Starchild (Stanley) and The Demon (Simmons). In fact, along with their onstage personas, the band has appeared in comic books for decades in stories that portray them not only as a rock band but as saviors of the world. The most recent comic was Dynamite Entertainment's "KISS: Phantom Obsession". They've also crossed over with numerous other properties such as "Vampirella" and "Army of Darkness". Musically, the band is best known for power anthems like "Rock and Roll All Nite". They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014.
