Passengers Argue With Air India Crew Over Delayed Flight To Dubai, Deplaned
Last Updated: May 25, 2025, 22:49 IST
A Dubai-bound Air India flight from Delhi became a scene of intense drama on Sunday as travellers clashed with the crew over a technical delay. Flight 2205, scheduled to depart at 5 pm, was delayed by several hours due to technical issues.
Screengrab of the viral video.
Passengers on the flight were without electricity for over 90 minutes due to a power failure, which was attributed to a technical issue. As the delay dragged on, passengers grew restless, with some even choosing to deboard. After the issue was resolved, the crew had to re-conduct a hand baggage check before proceeding.
The cabin crew worked to keep passengers calm despite the technical issues, offering water and snacks. However, the pilot later announced another delay due to a failure in the external electrical source, dashing hopes of an imminent departure.
After some passengers complained of feeling claustrophobic and some said they don't feel safe anymore, all passengers were deplaned, probably for reboarding later.
Earlier, passengers on an Air India flight from Delhi to Patna were allegedly made to sit inside the aircraft for hours despite a non-functional air conditioning system.
A video of passengers creatively using in-flight magazines as hand fans to cope with the heat is going viral on social media.
One of the passengers, Rashtriya Janata Dal MLA Rishi Mishra, made a self-recorded video from the flight. In the video, passengers were seen complaining about the non-functional air conditioning.

'This is an Air India flight to Patna, it is May 18 today, and the flight is scheduled for 4 pm," he says in the video.
'We have been there on the flight since an hour without AC, as you can see, children and other passengers are all troubled, but there's no one to look at," he said, as one of the flight attendants passed by him.

Vijay Mallya's two marriages and another strong rumour. An air hostess, childhood friend and another air hostess
Vijay Mallya, once celebrated as the flamboyant "King of Good Times" and a towering figure in Indian business, is as well-known for his personal relationships as for his business empire and controversies. His love life has seen significant turns—from a mid-air romance with an air hostess to rekindling childhood affection and whispers of another relationship with a much younger cabin crew member. The First Marriage: Love at 30,000 Feet In 1986, during a business trip to the United States, Vijay Mallya boarded an Air India flight, where he encountered Sameera Tyabjee , a young and striking air hostess. The attraction was instant, and after several conversations on the flight, Mallya proposed mid-air—a story that has often been highlighted in media reports. The couple married within the same year and soon welcomed a son, Siddhartha Mallya. Their life took a new direction when they moved to England. However, what began with a romantic proposal eventually faced challenges. Over time, differences emerged, and their marriage ended in divorce. The reasons cited in various reports point towards growing personal disagreements, although specific details remain private. Rekindling Childhood Affection: Second Marriage to Rekha Following his separation from Sameera, Vijay Mallya reconnected with Rekha, a woman he had admired since childhood. Rekha, who had been married twice before, was also going through a separation at the time. She had two children from her previous marriage—Kabir and Laila. The couple's bond deepened quickly, leading to marriage in 1993. Vijay Mallya officially adopted Rekha's daughter Laila, treating her as his own. Together, they also had two daughters, Leanna and Tanya. Although media reports have occasionally hinted at a separation, no official confirmation has come forth, and Rekha has maintained a low public profile. Rumoured Romance With Younger Cabin Crew: Pinky Lalwani In the years following his legal troubles and eventual exit from India, Vijay Mallya became linked with Pinky Lalwani, a former air hostess for Kingfisher Airlines who is reportedly 23 years younger. The two are said to have developed a close relationship while working together. Pinky Lalwani has been seen accompanying Mallya to various public appearances, including his court hearings in London, which intensified speculation about their partnership. Several insiders suggest that they have been living together for years, though neither has publicly confirmed marriage. Reports also mention that she resides in his Hertfordshire mansion. Vijay Mallya's life is a blend of grand successes, dramatic falls, and personal stories. His two confirmed marriages—to Sameera Tyabjee and Rekha Mallya—and the persistent rumours surrounding his relationship with Pinky Lalwani, reflect the complex and often private side of a man known more for his business ventures and controversies.

Aditya Roy Kapur On Working In Metro In Dino After The Night Manager: 'Nice To Do Something Light'
Last Updated: Aditya Roy Kapur says that his next film, Metro In Dino, marks a new chapter in his career. Having dabbled in romance, action, thrillers and ensemble dramas, Aditya Roy Kapur has continually evolved his craft with each project. His next, Metro In Dino, marks yet another new chapter in his journey as an actor—one that excites him for being unfamiliar territory. Talking about where this film fits in his personal journey, Aditya shares, 'This seems like something I haven't done before as an actor. It's a very interesting idiosyncratic character that seems to dance to the beat of his own drum and gave me the opportunity to really take chances and have fun with it. It's nice to be able to do something light, the last thing that I did was The Night Manager which was very fulfilling but also intense, so it's nice to go from something intense to something lighter. In this way, you are doing different things. I think it's going to be an interesting and fun character and it's a genre that I enjoy." He also went on to add how much he enjoyed Life in a… Metro, which was released in 2007. Said Aditya, 'I enjoyed the first Metro, so doing this one is something I am looking forward to. For me, my journey as an actor is just about trying to do things that I haven't done before. It's always exciting, gets you the slight amount of fear, which can be a very good driving force when you are going into the unknown, and I find that that's when you are the most alive and you can do your best work. When you are just at the edge of kind of something, you don't know whether it's good or not." With Metro In Dino, Aditya isn't just stepping into a new role—he's leaning into uncertainty, challenging himself to grow, and embracing the thrill of the unknown. Housefull 5: Akshay Kumar Wears Killer Mask To Know Public's Reaction, Shares Video
Last Updated: The latest installment of the Housefull franchise has earned Rs 24 crore net in India Akshay Kumar's latest comedy film Housefull 5 is getting a positive response from the audience. The film, also starring Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Nargis Fakhri, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Soundarya Sharma in lead roles, was released on June 6. Well, recently he shared a video wearing the now-viral killer's mask and walking among the public to gauge their real-time reaction — all while remaining unrecognised. Sharing the video on his Instagram handle, Akshay Kumar wrote, 'Bas yun hi I decided to wear the killer mask and interview people coming out of the Housefull5 show at Bandra today. Pakda jaane wala thaa end mein but bhaag gaya us se pehle. Mast experience." In the video, he is seen wearing the killer mask and asking netizen about their reaction. Many called the film superb. However, no one noticed Akshay Kumar behind the mask. Watch the video here: The latest installment in the Housefull franchise is off to a strong start at the box office. According to data from Sacnilk, the comedy entertainer earned Rs 24 crore net in India on its opening day. The worldwide collection on Day 1 stood at Rs 40 crore. Day 2, a Saturday, saw an upward trend with the film bringing in an estimated Rs 30 crore net domestically — taking the total to approximately Rs 54 crore so far. The movie maintained a nationwide occupancy of 33.18%, with figures climbing steadily through the day. Chennai, in particular, stood out with a 52% occupancy rate — a strong number for a Hindi-language comedy. With Sunday still ahead before the weekday slowdown, fans and analysts alike are watching to see how far Housefull 5 can go in its opening weekend. A major talking point around the film is its unique twist — it's been released with two alternate endings: Housefull 5 A and Housefull 5 B. Director Tarun Mansukhani shared the origin of this bold move: 'Sajid (Sajid Nadiadwala) sir had this idea about 30 years ago. And finally, he brought it to Housefull 5. And that was one of the most exciting things for me as a director to make a film with two different climaxes." This fresh concept appears to be resonating with moviegoers, adding curiosity and repeat viewings to the film's appeal. However, the film is getting mixed reviews from the critics. News18 Showsha gave it 2.5 stars. An excerpt from the review read, 'What makes the movie slump even lower is the music and the number of songs pushed into the scenes and the screenplay to make the film longer. Imagine dealing with an already stretched script, and then you have to tolerate even the unnecessary dance numbers. If this is the standard of comedy we get from the Housefull franchise, then Nadiadwala has to step up and raise the bar in the next instalment." First Published: June 08, 2025, 12:28 IST
