'The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt' Celebrates 10-Year Anniversary, Surpasses 60 Million Sales
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has hit an incredible milestone 10 years after its launch, with CD Projekt announcing that the beloved role-playing game (RPG) has surpassed 60 million copies sold worldwide.
'Without a doubt, the third part of Geralt's adventures marks a pivotal point in our history. The game earned hundreds of awards and solidified our studio's standing, but more importantly, it brought untold hours of adventures and emotions to millions of gamers the world over.' said joint CEO of CD Projekt Adam Badowski in a statement, 'I am proud to announce that since its release The Witcher 3 has sold over 60 million copies, securing a place among the bestselling video games in all history, and motivating us to carry on with intensive work on the next trilogy set in this universe.'
It is to be noted that the latest 60 million figure only includes sales of the base game and its GOTY or complete editions, and does not factor in individual sales for its two expansion packs, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine . With this new milestone, The Witcher 3 is one step closer to overtaking Bethesda's The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim , which reached the same 60 million sales mark in June 2023.
Last year, the developer announced a Witcher 3 concert tour spanning multiple countries to celebrate the anniversary, with tickets now available on its official website for performances across North America and Europe, leading up to November this year, with more locations and dates to be announced closer to 2026.
As The Witcher 3 celebrates its incredible success, CD Projekt is already looking towards the future, with its upcoming sequel, The Witcher 4 , currently in full production with an estimated release window of 2027, leading to the possibility that it might be released for next-generation consoles.

CD Projekt's 'Cyberpunk 2' Sequel Enters Pre-Production, Won't Be Out Until 2030
CD Projekt has announced that its follow-up to 2020's Cyberpunk 2077 , simply known as Cyberpunk 2 , has entered the pre-production phase of development. The studio made the announcement as part of its latest financial announcement, which also highlighted the latest sales milestone for the original game's expansion, Phantom Liberty , which has sold 10 million copies to date. 'Given these developments, it fills me with even greater satisfaction to announce another important stage in our work on the next big game in this franchise,' said chief financial officer Piotr Nielubowicz, 'Several weeks ago, Cyberpunk 2 — previously referred to as Project Orion — wrapped up its conceptual phase and entered pre-production. Congratulations to the entire team!' While this reveal might be exciting, fans are in for a long wait, as the game is still far from being released. When responding to a question suggesting that the sequel will follow the original's development timelines, thus placing its release date somewhere between late 2030 and early 2031, Nowakowski did not disagree. 'I can reiterate in a way what I said in one of the previous calls, which was basically that our journey from pre-production to final release takes four to five years on average,' he explained. 'Having said that, keep in mind that each project is unique, and there are many variables that influence the final outcome. So I will not lead you into specific years, but yes, this is pretty much how it looks.' Nintendo has finally announced the release date for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 for Southeast Asian countries, with the console launching on 26 June 2025 in Singapore, Thailand, and the Philippines.
