Vanessa Feltz 'furious' after ex Ben Ofoedu's comments at his wedding
Friends of Vanessa Feltz reportedly say the TV star is furious her former fiancé Ben Ofoedu is continuing to use her name to "raise his profile" two years on from their bitter split. "It's like Ben is on the wind up with Vanessa," pals claim after the Phats and Small singer took a swipe at his ex during his recent wedding.
Ben, 52, has married Vanessa Brown, 29, in a lavish ceremony at a castle in Carlisle last week. The music star, who was engaged to his original Vanessa for 16 years, didn't solely focus on his bride during their special day.
The singer-songwriter reflected on his failed engagement on his wedding day, declaring: "Never again will I do that. I wasted 17 years of my life. I don't believe in long engagements any more. You don't want to get married if there's a question mark over your engagement."
In February 2023, Vanessa announced the end of their romance on social media. In an interview conducted a month prior, she had alluded to Ben's unfaithfulness and expressed concerns about their age difference in an interview conducted a month prior.
And now, following Ben's latest mention of his former fiancée, Vanessa's pals are speaking out on her behalf. "The split was obviously not exactly amicable, but never did Vanessa think that Ben would still be going on about her now," a friend of the broadcaster has claimed.
"To her it's pretty obvious that every time he speaks of her it raises his profile, and she simply won't play ball. She knows what his game is and she just wishes he could move on too. Vanessa absolutely hates it when Ben uses her in any way to increase his own publicity."
Speaking to the Daily Mail, the star's friend added: "She takes the view that he might not stop – but she certainly won't be party to any of it. It's like Ben is on the wind up with Vanessa."
Newly married Ben's recent wedding reportedly set him back £100,000, and during his heartfelt speech, as reported by The Sun, he confessed to the attendees: "I knew the first time I met Vanessa, I'm going to fall in love with this girl."
He confessed: "It sounds crazy, but I told her that, I knew I was giving her attention, but I had intentions with this girl. So on the second date I told her I wanted to marry her and have children because I thought that by saying it, it separates the wheat from the chaff."
However, his heartfelt declaration was hilariously cut short by his mate and former Another Level star Dane Bowers, who quipped: "That, and you're really old." The cheeky comment sent waves of laughter through the wedding guests.
Reflecting on his journey to finding love again after a tough breakup with Vanessa, Ben expressed his newfound perspective: "Everything happens for a reason. I understand that now."
In an unusual move, Ben chose his wedding day to open up about his past struggles, admitting to the attendees: "It's no secret that I went through a really hard two years. Not everyone knew how difficult a place I was in because I was putting up a brave front, but I was quite down behind the scenes."
Ben's hardships didn't end with his breakup; he also faced the sudden loss of his younger brother at just 47. During the ceremony, he shared with the guests how his deep faith led him to a conversation with God, which ultimately brought him a new music opportunity and the chance to meet his current wife.
He recounted, "I broke down in tears, I was crying uncontrollably. So I got down on my knees and prayed. I asked God, 'is it true? Are you still in business? Will you take a customer like me?" He added: "I know it sounds funny, but it's the truth. Two days later I got a call that changed my life."

Line Of Duty's Adrian Dunbar reveals cast 'waiting on BBC confirmation' for series 7
Line of Duty star Adrian Dunbar has admitted he and his fellow cast mates are waiting for the BBC to give them the go ahead to start on the eagerly awaited seventh series A Line Of Duty icon has confessed that the cast are waiting for the go-ahead for the new series of the new series. It appears the stars of the hit series are eagerly waiting, like fans, for the next instalment after it was confirmed the BBC show would return for a seventh series. The 66-year-old star who plays the part of Superintendent Ted Hastings in the drama admitted that he and fellow cast members Martin Compston and Vicky McClure are a tight-knit group. And he said that while the trio are all keen to get back on set, they are simply waiting for the BBC to give them the nod. It comes after it was confirmed that creator Jed Mercurio had been working on a new script four years on from the dramatic series six finale. Sheridan Smith unrecognisable in first look at harrowing true-crime drama "There were signs that we were going to be doing something next year," Adrian recently told the Radio Times. "We're all waiting for the BBC to say, 'Yeah, it's happening.' "An official confirmation is what we're waiting on, but all the signs are very good. Jed hasn't given us any updates – he's beavering away, I suspect.' He added that Jed likes to keep the cast on their toes and admitted that Vicky usually gets the scripts first. He claimed that due to her speedy reading, she'd often tease the others by sending cryptic messages about the plot. Adrian has starred alongside Vicky and Martin amongst a host of others on what has became the broadcaster's highest-rated drama series in almost 20 years when it initially aired. At the end of series six, the master villain of the series was unmasked as Detective Superintendent Ian Buckells, played by Nigel Boyle. However, at the time some fans were disappointed by the reveal. Now, with more crime-fuelled drama on the horizon, it's expected to erupt once again. Christina Chong, who plays DI Nicola Rogerson, previously revealed she was contacted about reprising her role. She told the Daily Mail: 'So I have been asked about a season, is it seven? Yeah. Potentially, Nicola Rogerson will be back for season 7.' And while Vicky may not be filming the new series just yet, she is certainly keeping herself busy. She recently released her first ever music song as she sang alongside Jon McClure and Reverend and the Makers. Taking to Twitter /X last month, the band excitedly wrote: "ANNOUNCEMENT KLAXON. Absolutely buzzing to announce we have a new single about to drop featuring, on lead vocals for the first time ever, the living legend @Vicky_McClure ' (plus a bit on @jonathanowen71 on bass) "The video also features another living legend so stay tuned for that. Let's have some love for Vicky the singer eh?" Vicky then reshared the post to her own page and commented: "First for everything! No one cooler to do it with! @Reverend_Makers," followed by three red love heart emojis.

Ozzy Osbourne 'tried to trademark Prince of Darkness nickname days before he died'
Ozzy Osbourne died at the age of 76 last month shortly after his farewell gig with his band Black Sabbath in his hometown of Birmingham Ozzy Osbourne reportedly tried to trademark his 'Prince of Darkness' nickname just days before he died at the age of 76. The Black Sabbath frontman passed away shortly after his farewell gig with the band in his hometown of Birmingham last month. In perhaps what was an attempt to provide for his family, including wife Sharon, 72, after he was gone, the heavy metal legend - who spawned huge hits like Paranoid and War Pigs - is said to have applied for the trademark to sell clothes, games and accessories. It's believed the late frontman filed requests in both the UK and the US. An application thought to have been sent to the United States Patent and Trademark Office asks for "entertainment services, namely providing non-downloadable pre-recorded music via a website." Permission has yet to be granted in America, though it's thought Ozzy has already had the 'Prince of Darkness' trademark approved in the UK, according to The Sun. Though Ozzy is gone devastating fans around the world, he could appear on stage again in the future, as Black Sabbath trademarked their name in virtual reality - which means they could return as holograms. It follows in the footsteps of bands like ABBA, who have already used avatars for their London show, Voyage, which has been running since 2022 and features younger versions of themselves. Black Sabbath filed similar documents 20 years ago and the band could do the same at some point should they want to. Papers trademark use of 'production and presentation of animation and other special effects'. A number of other artists have taken similar action. Ozzy was laid to rest in Buckinghamshire at a private service attended by his close family and friends on Thursday. Among music royalty attending the funeral were Elton John, Metallica's James Hetfield, Marilyn Manson, punk singer Yungblud, Rob Zombie, and Ozzy's guitarist Zakk Wylde. In keeping with the rockstar's wishes, he was buried in the grounds of his sprawling family home where he shared many happy memories with wife Sharon, and where he spent his final weeks. Thousands also lined the streets of Birmingham, where he made one final trip through his home city as his hearse travelled from the Aston Villa football ground through the city centre. Though a cause of death hasn't been given, the singer had suffered ill health in recent years and been been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2019. A statement from his family said: "It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time." Paying tribute to her famous dad, middle daughter Kelly, took to social media to thanks fans for their support. She said: "I've sat down to write this a hundred times and still don't know if the words will ever feel like enough... but from the bottom of my heart, thank you. "The love, support, and beautiful messages I've received from so many of you have truly helped carry me through the hardest moment of my life. Every kind word, every shared memory, every bit of compassion has meant more than I can ever explain. "Grief is a strange thing - it sneaks up on you in waves - I will not be ok for a while - but knowing my family are not alone in our pain makes a difference. I'm holding on tight to the love, the light, and the legacy left behind. Thank you for being there. I love you all so much."
