Gulf Today15-05-2025

Bollywood actress Kriti Sanon, who was recently seen in the streaming film, 'Do Patti,' is celebrating Mother's Day. The actress took to her Instagram, and shared a heartfelt video featuring her mother Geeta Sanon. She called her mom her biggest supporter and her biggest critic.
She wrote in the caption, 'Happy Mother's Day Mumma. To our sunshine of happiness and our pillar of strength. My Biggest supporter and the biggest critic! The problem solver and the drama-queen! The mother as well as the baby of our house. We love you more than you know. Happy Mother's day to all moms out there'.
Earlier in the day, the actress' 'Bareilly Ki Barfi' co-actor Rajkummar Rao remembered his mother, and expressing the gratitude to different forms of mothers in his life on the occasion of Mother's Day. The actor, who will be next seen in the upcoming film 'Bhool Chuk Maaf,' took to his Instagram on Sunday, and shared pictures of his late mother, his wife Patralekha, goddess Durga and mother India.
He wrote in the caption, 'Happy Mother's Day Everyone. Maa is the closest you can ever be to God. Thank you for every hug, lesson, happiness and Smile'.
Rajkummar had earlier said that his mother passed away during the shoot of his critically acclaimed film 'Newton.' The actor took a few days off from his shoot, and went to his home for the final rites of his mother. Prior to this, Kriti gave a sneak peek into her March diaries, and shared how she 'March-ed into April.' One of the photos in her post was of her chilling at her home, followed by an image of enjoying a wholesome home-cooked meal. We could also see her having a blast with 'Tere Ishk Mein' director Anand L Rai on the sets of her next. From some self-care during downtime at home to travelling, to satisfying her sweet tooth, to creating some fond memories with friends, Kriti's March looked like a perfect balance of work and fun.
Almost a decade after 'Raanjhanaa,' Aanand L Rai continues his love affair with Banaras in his next 'Tere Ishk Mein.'
Presented by Gulshan Kumar, in collaboration with T-Series, and Colour Yellow, the much-awaited project brings back the dynamic trio of Aanand L Rai, Dhanush, and A.R. Rahman for another cinematic masterpiece. The story of the film has been penned by Himanshu Sharma in association with Neeraj Yadav. Aanand L Rai, Himanshu Sharma, Bhushan Kumar, and Krishan Kumar have jointly produced the project. 'Tere Ishk Mein' is a spiritual successor to the 2013 film 'Raanjhanaa,' delving deeper into themes of unrequited love, and emotional conflict.
'Tere Ishk Mein' is expected to reach the cinema halls on Nov.28, in both Hindi and Tamil. Additionally, Kriti's first look from the film as Mukti also grabbed a lot of eyeballs. She was seen walking through a chaotic, warlike scene, looking all stressed and broken. She poured petrol on herself and held a lighter, preparing to set herself on fire.

Hollywood star Scarlett Johansson discusses the road ahead in acting

Hollywood star Scarlett Johansson said she remains committed to acting in projects she'd personally enjoy watching, even as she makes her directorial debut with the new drama film 'Eleanor the Great.' The 40-year-old actress stepped behind the camera for the first time on the drama film which follows 94-year-old Eleanor Morgenstein who moves to New York after years living with her late best friend many States away to live with her daughter and forms an unlikely friendship with a 19-year-old journalism student. Johansson will be seen on screen in the upcoming film 'Jurassic World Rebirth' as covert operative Zora Bennett and, although she found directing to be creatively rewarding, she still is up for roles in the right movies, reports The actress specifically wants to star in films that have the potential to attract audiences to the cinema. In an interview with Collider, she said: 'My intention is to work on projects I would go and see, whether they're like 'Jurassic World' or this film. 'The commerciality of things is also important to me, too. Would audiences want to see this, too? Is this generally interesting? Those are things I look for and focus on and care about. So, we'll see, I guess. I'm certainly still an actor for hire — I want that to be widely printed.' Johansson screened 'Eleanor the Great' at the Cannes Film Festival and she has said she shed many tears when directing on set because of the movie's emotional story. The 'Black Widow' star hopes the film will have the same effect on audiences as she learned long ago that it is a powerful thing to be able to cry over a movie in public. Scarlett said: 'The script made me cry, and so I knew there would be potential for tears, of course. Then, to cut it together - I've seen it a bajillion times, and it still makes me cry. It touches me in different moments. I love to cry in movies. When I was younger, I was a teenager, I used to stop myself from crying, and it was so painful. I think the greatest physical pain is holding in a cry. It hurts so much. Then, at some point in my life, I was like, 'What am I doing? I'm just going to let loose and cry in this theatre.' It was so liberating. 'It feels so good to cry in a theatre with a whole bunch of people.' For Scarlett, humour is a huge part of her life, and said that she couldn't imagine 'being with somebody who wasn't funny'. The Hollywood star, who is married to comedian Colin Jost, told Collider: 'My husband's a comedy writer, and I couldn't imagine ever being with somebody who wasn't funny. I grew up in a very funny household.' Indo-Asian News Service

For Gillan Anderson, intimate scenes are never a joy

Hollywood actress Gillian Anderson has shared that intimate scenes are a tricky territory to walk through during the process of acting. For her, such scenes are "never a joy". The 56-year-old actress shares an intimate scene in a tent with co-star Jason Isaacs in her new movie 'The Salt Path', reports 'Female First UK'. The film is based on the true story of couple Raynor and Moth Winn who embark on an epic walk in the UK after a bad health diagnosis and homelessness. As per 'Female First UK', the actress said that such things are part and parcel of acting. As she said, "That is something you just expect as an actor'. The actress told 'The Sun', "That's part of what one does. I had an experience for many, many years working with the same actor every day. I've also done sex scenes on the very first day of working, which is never a joy at any time during filming. "So you're thrown stuff all the time and just show whatever you're given'. 'The X-Files' star added that it was straightforward to film the raunchy scenes with her "amenable" co-star Isaacs. She said, "Jason makes it very easy. He's very amenable, he's very likeable. And certainly physically, we feel like we're the same language, certainly by the end. We feel like our journey is baked into us, and we feel like we're part of the same conversation'. Gillian explained that she became desperate to play Raynor after reading her book of the same name and being "profoundly affected" by the story. "I read the book and I couldn't speak for days. I was really profoundly affected by it. I think I might have threatened them with an inch of their lives to hire me', she added. Indo-Asian News Service
