Referring to the alleged kidney sale racket in Namakkal, Muthusamy said: "The state government is identifying and taking appropriate action on kidney sales. Action is being taken against the hospitals involved. Investigations are underway against those hospitals," he said.

Earlier, the Minister launched the Nalam Kakkum Stalin scheme at the Government Higher Secondary School in Vellode. Collector S Kandasamy, MLA VC Chandhirakumar and others were present.
In Tiruppur, ministers Saminathan and N Kayalvizhi Selvaraj launched the scheme at Punitha Amala Annai Girls Higher Secondary School in Vellakovil. District Collector Manish Naranaware and other officials were present.

‘Nalam Kakkum Stalin' medical camp on Aug 9
Madurai: The 'Nalam Kakkum Stalin' initiative, which was launched on Aug 2, has benefited more than 1,000 people in Madurai. A similar camp will be held again on Aug 9 at Tagore Vidalayam Matriculation Higher Secondary School in ward 40, from 9am to 4pm. Through this camp, general medical consultation, ECG, echo, blood sugar tests, blood pressure monitoring, eye screening, dental care, treatment for children and the elderly, minor surgeries, distribution of medicines, and referral services will be provided free of cost. The final health report will be issued on spot. Through this initiative, people who are unable to afford expensive medical care, senior citizens, women, children, and differently-abled individuals will greatly benefit, a statement from the corporation said.
