Nitin Gadkari warns World War could break out ‘anytime', says coordination, harmony and love are vanishing
'The situation is such that there is possibility of a World War taking place anytime in the backdrop of these two ongoing wars,' said Gadkari, cited in the agency report.
At the launch event of the 'Beyond Borders' book, the Union Minister, citing the current geopolitical situation, said that the values of coordination, harmony, and love are vanishing due to the authoritarianism and dictatorship of superpowers, giving rise to a conflict around the world.

Union Minister Gadkari also emphasised the need for the world nations to ascertain future policy after reviewing and deliberating on the current geopolitical scenarios.
He also cited India as the land of the Buddha, from which the message of truth, non-violence, and peace was spread to the world.
The Minister said that due to technological advancements and ongoing conflicts and wars, it is becoming increasingly difficult to protect the people of the world and uphold humanitarian values.
'There is an atmosphere of conflict going on across the world amid the war between Israel and Iran as well as Russia and Ukraine,' he said, according to the agency report.
On the advancement of technologies, Gadkari said that the increasing demand for the use of missiles and drones in modern warfare and strikes is reducing the relevance of tanks and other kinds of aircraft.
'Amid all this, it has become difficult to protect humanity. Often, missiles are fired on civilian settlements. This has created a serious problem and there is need to discuss all these issues at a global level,' said Gadkari, cited in the agency report.
The minister also said that even though it is not right to say, the fact is that the geopolitical situation is slowly leading to 'destruction.'
'It won't be right to say so but (fact is) all this is slowly leading to destruction. Authoritarianism and dictatorship (adhikarwadi-hukumshahi) of the superpowers is making coordination, harmony and love vanish,' he said according to the agency report.

‘Minister, not monarch': Asaduddin Owaisi slams Kiren Rijiju over ‘minority benefit more' remark
AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on July 7 slammed Union Minister Kiren Rijiju for the latter's comments, saying that India is the only country where the minorities get 'more benefits and protections' than the majority community. The Hyderabad MP countered Rijiju's remarks given to a newspaper by claiming that India's minorities are not even second-class citizens anymore and are, in fact, 'hostages.' "You are a Minister of the Indian Republic, not a monarch Kiren Rijiju. You hold a constitutional post, not a throne. Minority rights are fundamental rights, not charity," Owaisi wrote in a post on X, quoting Rijiju, who had shared his interview with the Indian Express. 'INDIA is the only country where the minorities get more benefits and protections than the majority community,' Rijiju wrote in the post sharing the interview. Owaisi asked if it was a 'benefit' to be called Pakistani, Bangladeshi, jihadi, or Rohingya every single day? 'Is it 'protection' to be lynched? Is it protection that Indian citizens were kidnapped and pushed into Bangladesh?,' the AIMIM chief asked. Rijiju said in the interview that in the last 11 years, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government has championed the principle of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas'. Following this principle, he said, the Ministry of Minority Affairs has adopted the mantra of 'bhagidari se bhagyodaya (participation to good fortune)' to a result-oriented and empowerment-driven framework focused on education, skilling, entrepreneurship, and inclusion. 'The approach has ensured that minority communities are active and equal participants in India's growth story. The main point we have to understand is that minority communities are receiving more funds and support from the government than the majority community, the Hindus. "Op Sindoor led to increase in demand for our Indigenous defence products": Rajnath Singh
New Delhi [India], July 7 (ANI): The demands for Indian defence equipment have increased following Operation Sindoor, said Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday, noting that the world military expenditure has increased to over USD 2.7 trillion in 2024, and a big market is awaiting India. Speaking at the Controllers Conference organised by DRDO, the Union Defence Minister said, 'The world is looking towards our Defence sector. The valour that our soldiers have shown during Operation Sindoor, as well as the way we showcased the capabilities of our domestic equipment, has led to an increase in demand for our indigenous defence products. World military expenditure has increased to over $2.7 trillion in 2024 - such a big market is awaiting us.' Singh further mentioned that India's Defence budget is bigger than the GDP of various countries in the world, highlighting the need to utilise the resources in the right way. '...If you look at our Defence budget, it's bigger than the GDP of some countries in the world. When a significant portion of people's hard-earned income is allocated to the Defence Ministry, our responsibility increases exponentially--we ned effective growth. Our Defence expenditure should be such that not only does the budget increase, but also we should utilise it in the right way - by proper deployment at the right time for the right objective, ' said Union Minister Singh. The Union Minister lauded the decision of the Defence Acquisition Council to grant permission for capital procurement from the GeM portal. He said, 'Defence Acquisition Council for the first time has permitted the capital procurement from the GeM portal, it's a commendable step... I have also been informed that the department is working on the Comprehensive Pay System and centralised database management for defence personnel...' The Union Minister further said, '...You have organised a controllers conference, but I think your mind should be open and receptive, so that you can discuss and share about the changes occurring in the defence ecosystem with all stakeholders. Such events give us a chance to do introspection and self-analysis. We can think about the reforms that are needed to bring... This department's responsibility is not just to manage accounts on paper, but also an important part of our security system. When you honestly, its impact even reaches the soldiers guarding our borders. They feel that they have a system behind them that will be with them in all circumstances...' The Defence Accounts Department (DAD) is hosting the Controllers' Conference 2025 from July 7-9 at the Dr SK Kothari Auditorium, DRDO Bhawan, New Delhi.
